January 1st
A happy new year to everyone. Will this be a good one or not? Will it be kind to me? I will just have to wait and see same as every one.
4th
Cleaned up all down stairs, also did two loads of washing that just about dried. Cold though all day, nice in the sun and out the wind. Snowing late night early Monday Morning.
6th
Cleaned up stairs well some of it the rest tomorrow. Still doing a puzzle I started a while ago, a Harry Potter one. Very hard to do, when finished, if I finish, will put up a picture.
8th
Finished off the bed rooms. Bit more of the puzzle done- going quite well now, got a lot of pieces in. Looking good.
Ironing today not loads but enough. I feel very tired as well.
9th
Good walk on the common with Luna, she played with her ball. We saw no one at all. I think we had the whole common to ourselves. Still cold here around 0-3 C during the day a lot colder at night minus 2--5C.
15th
I finished the puzzle three bits missing.
Harry Potter.
Now the puzzle is done, I am going to finish off the knitted Bingo toy to go with Bluey for Cory-James, my Great Grandson.
17th
Bit of knitting Bingo toy got quite a lot done too. Indian for tea very nice. I was not that hungry but enjoyed what I had. Andrew enjoyed his as well as his appetite is getting better after his illness.
18th
Wet and cold today frost first thing. Luna and I still enjoyed our walk. She has her coat on most days to keep her warm. Only getting cold when we stand and talk to the other walkers, which I try not to do as I get cold as well..
Cleaning again, down stairs, got it all done around four thirty. I cooked tea as well. Sausage veg and tatties. So tired later nice bath with Badedas this helped my tired muscles.
19th
Paul picked up Jay-Jay to do a few of the jobs that did not get done last year partly due to illness and the weather. He did a good day's work and got a lot done. Well done Jay-Jay and Paul of course.
Tommy-Lee and Kira are back today from Amsterdam hope they had a good time. Andrew said it would have bean quite cold there ( Andrew lived in Amsterdam for a few years.)
I have now started another puzzle a Christmas one, yes I know its over but I liked the look of this one, I think it will be a lot easier than the Harry Potter one.The Harry Potter one is still on the puzzle board as my friend has not seen it finished. She does puzzles too.
Finished off the Bingo toy for Corey-James so he can have it tomorrow to go with Bluey he got for Christmas.
20th
Jay-Jay here again today, Molly is bringing him so it will not be early like yesterday. He and Paul still got quite a bit done before it got too dark. Took a lot to the dump as well. Molly and Corey-James here too. I played with him most of the day. He has had a hair cut, and looks younger and older at the same time. He is not curly haired like his Dad was at the same age. Better day weather wise, sunny but cold wind. nice to see some sun at last, I think it's bean on holiday.
21st
Cleaning up down stairs just a quick one to get rid of any bits from yesterday. All our waste, bins, and garden rubbish comes through the house as no back access. Not too many bits from yesterday's dump rubbish and soon cleaned it up..
Bit more puzzle done going well but a lot cheaper made one very thin cardboard, as bits have come off and there are holes where they should be. Still be good when done though I think.
22nd
A wet day not that cold 7C so better than it has bean. I would sooner it be colder and sunny than milder and rain. Good walk on the common bit wet but Luna and I had our coats on.
Doing my Blog bringing it up to date I had not done anything on it at all. So from the first to twenty second of January was done today.
23rd
Breast scan today, just a three year routine one. Paul dropped me off at the hospital. I will most likely walk back. Weird finding the department, I had to go in the hospital, out again down a very long corridor near the maternity then back in again. This other lady who was there, thought she had got lost but, no it was the right way.
The Nurse asked if we were in together, we laughed, I said I know there are cut backs but both sharing the same scanner seemed very funny to us both. The other lady was still laughing when she went in for her scan. We wished each other well and a good out come from the scan. Soon after I went in everything fine. I did walk home around three miles I would say. I used to know all my distances when I ran but not as much now. Did a bit of shopping in town.
Some of our bricks and tiles from the roof are being picked up by a man who wants them for his drive, so, one less trip to the skip/dump.
24th
Cold wind on the common today. We did see a few of our friends as well. Came home and cleaned up down stairs. Bit more of my puzzle, broke up the Harry Potter one as my friend has seen it now. Some more of the Christmas one. I thought this one would be quite easy but I was wrong.
Andrew and Paul had an Indian take away I did not join them this time not feeling very hungry tonight.
Weird later, late night early morning I felt very sick all of a sudden no warning at all. Rushed to the bathroom, (I was in the front room and bathroom is at the back of the house.) and was sick, projectile vomiting. Just the one time, but it hurt, and my stomach swelled up and was very sore. Sat down for a while and watched TV with Andrew then went to bed. Still feeling my sore stomach, and now a headache too. Hopefully a sleep will help, it's already gone three in the morning so a bit later than usual bedtime.
25th
Not feeling the best and have a fat stomach now as very bloated and sore. Still headache as well. hopefully the walk with Luna will help. Cold wind and very wet on the common. Took it easy today as not the feeling the best very drained. I had macaroni cheese for tea, one of Andrew stand by freezer meals. I enjoyed it as not eaten since yesterday apart from a couple of biscuits earlier.
Paul thought he was going to have a chicken dinner today. No way I was cooking today I could not have eaten it, if he wanted it he could have done it himself. But no he decided the leftover Indian they had last night would be good.
27th
A very cold and windy day Icey blasts with rain/sleet. Luna and were both cold so we kept moving along and only a shorter walk today but at least she gets out every day. Some dogs do not even get out for a walk at all.
Bit more of the puzzle done only around one hundred pieces to go.
Cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom the rest to morrow. I did quite a bit of ironing yesterday as well. When I stand for a long time like ironing- my feet cramp up, and go into spasms and really hurt. I do sit a lot of the time on the dining room table when doing the ironing as the right height. They still cramp up though, but not every time. So today they are still not good
28th
Cleaned up the rest of downstairs. Cleaned out the fryer as well but it on its last legs, so it will be a new one soon.
Went to see my friend Jenny very briefly, as she is giving us some carpet tiles that used to be in her kitchen. They are probably going down in the shed. Good to see her if only for a short time. She has a lovely big bungalow. Cooked tea and rested, bean quite a long day.
I finished off the Christmas puzzle.
Looks good very bright.
29th
A very dull start to the day. Wet and slidey on the common as there has bean such a lot of rain just lately. Saw some of our friends on the common. Phil gave Luna a treat as usual, when she spots him she runs towards him to get her little treat sitting down right next to his feet.
One day when she was just a pup, (she's three this year) there was around five dogs waiting for a treat from another friend also called Debbie. All of them sat down, Luna got hers and ran to the end of the line to get another one. Everyone laughed and thought she was so clever. She is a mix of poodle and Cavalier (a Cavapoo) and they are meant to be highly intelligent dogs. I think she is very clever and seems to think about what she does and listens so intently when you speak to her.
I started cleaning upstairs, and got quite a bit done the rest tomorrow. Paul did the shopping today instead of Friday the usual day as he had an appointment tomorrow. I put all the shopping away, apart from the freezer stuff as it causes me pain. So I did not get started straight away.
30th
Finished off upstairs, so all clean and tidy now, not for long though. I cooked a gammon joint for tea for Paul and I with veg and mashed tatties with white sauce. Very nice it was too. I was hungry as not eaten much today. Paul had his dinner at the hospital- fish and chips.
I have starting knitting an Aran blanket with the wool I have left from the various things I have made.
Night time I was very tired with a headache probably done too much. But there is always things to do.
31st
Went to see my friend for a chat and cup of tea. She lives in the house where I used to look after Ben and Emie, two doors away. I have never bean round, my fault not hers. She moved in around the time Summer passed away and I could not cope with people. The house looks very different now and is very nice. The house is the same size as ours, but the kitchen and bathroom are a lot bigger.The garden is also the biggest in the street.
Did a bit in the garden as a lovely sunny day. Yes the sun is back. Cutting down a few dead things and general clean up.
Well I would say the year came in like a Lion for us. A friends sudden death was very upsetting for us all especially me.
Health wise for me not bad apart from the sick thing and extreme tiredness. Everyone else recovered now so that's good. Luna in good health as usual.
