July.

 July 2nd

Finished off putting the last bits right in the bedroom. Doing a bit more of the grandmother doll going well. My friend Joy came to see me and liked the doll very much. She asked if I would make her one as a present. I decided to let her have this one for her Birthday or Christmas, as both are in December. The doll clothes in the pattern were shown stitched onto the doll but I have made them all so they can be taken off. When completely done I will put a picture up.

3rd

Today on our walk Summer spotted the gate between the park and the Supported Learning Centre was open. So in she goes, they had on a craft day with stalls. I thought Summer would just go in the foyer, but no in she went into the school. She looked at all the stalls and even appeared to be reading the sign that said more stall this way as she did just that. She wandered into the cafe part, and a man said they were not open yet. Summer did one of her huffs and walked away. The man said I think she understood. I said she does understand a lot more than normal dogs. People thought it was lovely that she came to visit them. One lady asked if she bought anything. I said no she had no money. The lady then said, she has nowhere to keep any. She was getting a lot of attention for sure and loving every minute. I managed to get her away and we carried on to the common where we had a nice walk. Next time I will find out more about these craft stalls and maybe have one myself next time. Summer will have some money as well.

5th

We saw a hare on the common today the first one I have seen there. In town later sorting out things for Lindsay's Birthday. Got some more grey wool for grans hair as I ran out doing the hair but it's the wrong shade of grey. Paul will try tomorrow when he goes in for his dinner. If not, a little rabbit I made named Sebastion will have to sacrifice his trousers. No wool so sorry your trousers will have to go I will replace them of course.

Letter from cardiology after my CORONARY ANGIOGRAM, a few weeks ago, things are not too bad. One of the valves is not right, a BICUSPID AORTIC VALVE WITH STENOSIS.  Nothing too much to worry about,  I just need regular checks. I am going to go running again after the hot weather has cooled a bit. Something for me instead of for someone else.

8th

A lot of watering today greenhouse and garden as drying up fast. Did quite a bit in the garden as well as weeding and general tidy up. A bit of sewing for Andy across the road. More knitting Sebastion now has some new trousers. Very good of him to give up his trousers for granny's hair.

Got to 28C in our garden then clouded over then a bit cooler later on.

11th

Had a massive spasm attack in my neck and right shoulder. This was so painful on an already tight neck. The pain went down my arm. Not nice but Something I have grown to accept with RSD. I took IBBRUES and BACLOFEN A MUSCLE relaxant plus TIGER BALM and some OROMORTH. Very hard to move like getting in and out of the chair. Terrible later with nerve pain and touch pain (pain that radiates up my arm with the slightest touch of my fingers.) I could hardly stand up straight. Paul helped me but I did not want him to touch me as too much pain. The tablets made me feel very far away. Ness two doors asked me once if I ever bean to Space as I had on a Space X t-shirt, I said many times as I have bean spaced out with my tablets. Bed, hopefully, a better day tomorrow.

12th

Hotter today got to over 32C. My neck is not as bad today so long as I take it easy no fast moves.

Lindsay's Birthday- they are coming round for tea, Chinese.  Jay-Jay came too but not Tommy-Lee, Jack a friend came as well. Tea did not happen as tempers got frayed and Lindsay went home. Nothing to do with me though.

13th

Paul and I have bean invited to a wedding in October and also we are going to another one in September.

Today is eighteen years since all this RSD nightmare started. All these years of hell; lost friends that I used to run with. Things that are impossible to do now. How can an innocent fall turn into all this? Why because RSD can. I know I am stronger than a lot of people but, even the strength can break down at times. There is no one to pick you up either, as no specialist near here. I have never as yet met anyone with RSD. A lonely miss understood life that will just get worse with age and go on and on.

15th

Terrible pain in my neck, shoulder, and back. The nerve pain is shooting down my arm making my fingers numb and tingle with pain, also affecting my leg. the pain is going into my neck and head. I feel quite ill at the moment. My chair is a rise-up one, that helps you get out it easier, so I have bean using that just to move out the chair. As soon as I move the pain gets so much worse and I am doubled up trying to get the spasms under control. I am taking a lot of extra tablets which have made my stomach bad so I am being sick now, all I need with these terrible spasms. spasms. Well, things can only get better.

17th

The first day in a while I've woken up without chronic pain. I think the pain is beginning to go a bit. I am trying to move a bit more and doing a few exercises to gently move my neck and shoulders. Not easy and the spasms are still coming not as bad but still very painful.

18th

The start of two predicted very hot days could rise up to 40C, this does not seem possible but at four pm it was 36C. This felt hot enough Summer was Ok as she slept a lot. We have fans in both the dining room and front room so this will help hopefully. Night time temperature was 22-23C so a bit warm for trying to sleep not as though I get much anyway.

19th

Records were broken today in Lincoln with a recording of 40.1C the highest recorded in the UK. I am struggling to cope, I know a lot of you are, but with RSD it's a nightmare that goes on and on. My nervous system is like a child's and isn't able to cool off or heat up the same way it used to. This is something you can not stop just because you do not like it or take more pills to cope there is nothing you can really do. Just trying to keep as cool as I can, but just sat here, I am wet with sweat, then shaking because I have overheated too much. The high humidity is not helping either.

20th

Well, cooler today but the house is still very hot I think it will be a few days before it cools down again. The temperature is around 27C at two pm but at night time, this did not drop very close and heavy. Hopefully, a storm is on the way.

21st

Finished off a hat and gloves set, seems weird knitting a hat and gloves in the last few day's heat. Also, Gran is finished now, I did the hair like a perm. This took around two to three hours but I think it was worth it as she looks good. This will be for a Christmas present.

I was pleased with this set as well.

I am so pleased the temperature has dropped to 22C about half of what it has bean. Not sure how much more I could take of this heat. Not just the heat affected me but also the very heavy humid air, which is still high. This felt like I had someone on my back the whole time. Having the pain and spasms did not help as I was sweating from that be for the heat came. I know it was only around four to five days of immense heat but this country is not used to it and can not cope.

23rd

Cleaning upstairs, as a bit cooler now but still very humid we need rain and a good lot too. Rung up a few of my friends and had a chat with them. Two doors away are moving today Ness and Squidgy plus Ben and Emmie. Not far as I have already said but, I will miss Emmie and I know she will miss me. We will still keep in touch and I will go there and she will still come here.

24th

Bit of knitting now making a baby cardigan in white. Tidying up in the garden and yet more watering seems to be a full-time job now. Sprayed for green fly and any other bugs. I took a picture of Karol's (next door)  roses from upstairs there are loads. The heat has not done them too good but still, they are very beautiful.

Even though it's a lot cooler I feel very sticky and mucky. I am just pleased my body has calmed down and is mostly back to my RSD normal.

25th

Up before seven thirty as I woke an hour earlier and laid for a while, no chance of getting back to sleep. Might as well get up. Summer and I were on the common before eight so quite cool for her. We did not see any of her friends. Some we have not seen for around two weeks now like Mary and Rory. They either come on the common very early or not at all when it's very hot.  Summer does look for him every day but no Rory today Summer. Summer has copped quite well but like every else got very hot. I put a wet tea towel on her this helped her quite a bit.

I took some pictures of the common to show how dry and brown it is.

Horses under the trees keeping cool.

                                                          Summer looking good as usual.
I think she might have found something to eat.

A few days after these pictures were taken some fool, set fire to the dry grass. lucky there was not a lot of damage.

26th
I am trying to put new linings on the computer room curtains as they got ruined with cactus plants that used to be on the window sill. This took all afternoon but they are as good as new now, and will last a few more years. I forgot my friend Jenny's Birthday so I rang her to apologise. It was today so not too bad. Usually, I would have gone round yesterday or first off today. I thought it was in August. I have a present plus a special one for her. Seeing her on Thursday.

27th
When Summer and I got back from the common Emmie was here. Her Dad and her are getting the last bits from their house as the keys are handed over to the new people. Emmie is very sad about moving but she will be alright she has a friend close by and goes on holiday to Wales Saturday. We played with the Barbies dolls. After she had gone I cleaned up downstairs. I am very tired as going to bed late around four am and getting up around eight am.

28th
Up early again but I feel like I have had some sleep. Jenny here today hopes she likes her presents and card. A lovely afternoon with Jenny just talking and catching up on the last few weeks.

This is what Andrew made especially for Jenny, she thought it was lovely. She liked the other things as well; shower things, soap, and hand cream.

29th
In town today to get Wayne a few bits for his Birthday, he is getting money so just a few bits to open on the day. He is coming with Kayleigh on Sunday. This will be the first time I have seen Kayleigh since 2019, a few days before I broke my wrist. It will be so good to see them both. I did see Wayne last Christmas. I am really looking forward to this. Extra work for me but it will be worth it.

30th
Happy Birthday, Wayne see you both soon. Knitting a little character doll for a YouTube lady for who I got patterns off as a thank you. Not far off finished, I will put a picture on here in the next Blog.

31st
Paul has gone to pick up Kayleigh and Wayne from Halifax. I am cleaning up downstairs. Later we will have Chinese for tea, Lindsay and Jamie-Lee will join us. Wayne and Kayleigh arrived around three, cups of tea and catch-up time. Good to see them both. Wayne opened his presents and liked them all just a few bits like I said.

Well, friends, that's another Blog down. Not too bad a month apart from the heat but that affected everyone. My neck spasms were very painful as well, but I recover to go on another day.

Hope things are good with you all or at least not too bad.

All the very best to you all Love Gill.

June.

 June 1st

I got a phone call to say an appointment is available for next Wednesday for urology for an investigation with a camera into my bladder. So I am pleased as I have not waited long at all. I feel very tired today but hurt more when I sit down. Plated some old tatties in a large clay pot, they were in the veg rack in the shed with spurts on so I thought why not try them. The greenhouse and outside are doing very well. Andrew has sowed a lot of seeds as well, all doing very well.

2nd

Andrew came on our walk today, Summer played with her ball, for the first time in ages, she was puffed out after all the running around.  Bit of chest pain early in the morning before I went to bed, not sure if it was a muscle or something else like my heart. Went after I used my spray so it's ok.

4th

Made three lots of cakes for the street party that a neighbor has organized, trouble is no one much knows about it. According to the forecast, it's going to rain most of the day. Knitting the cardigan for Jamie-Lee and I have to do the button band but I did it wrong. So had to pull most down and start again. Got it right now. So just the buttons to put on. My daughter Lindsay burnt her arm on a BBQ they had. It looked quite sore but I think it will be OK. Paul took her some dressing to help with the healing.

5th

A neighbor who is having a street party or should I say was. Now it's in her house. The trouble is still no one knows about it. I went across and took the cakes and stayed a while. Had a sausage and a small bit of cake. As far as I know, I was the only one who went. Bad headache later a nerve type one running from my neck across to the left side of my head and under my eye.

6th

Woke with the same headache still after not much sleep, Went to look at beds, as Paul and I need a new one. Our present one is around seventeen years old. Got one sorted and is coming end of the month. A lot of pain later mostly nerve pain in my knees elbows and shoulders. Took extra pain tablets did not help much though.

7th

Warm today. Saw Mary on the common with Rory. Summer had not seen her and when I asked her where is Mary? She looked the way we normally see her. When she finally saw her she ran so fast to get her treat. Mary said she had never seen her run so fast. I said she can if it involves food. Rory took Summer for a drink in the long grass and they both came out very smelly. Washing today two lots. Doing a bit in the garden as well. Pulled up some of the Chinese lanterns as they had spread so much. Hopefully, they will replant elsewhere. Lindsay and Andy our neighbor are having some.

8th

Camera test for my bladder today at urology.  Everything went well a bit painful going in, More so later on. Night time it was very sore like I had cystitis again, and going for wees a lot more. Hopefully, overnight, it will calm down. The Doctor who did the test said everything was looking good and she could see no problems. I asked her if the trouble I had could have bean a kidney stone, and she said very likely. Later I had my feet up and my big toe on my left foot went into a spasm. I tried to release it but it would not go. Managed to get it right only for it to go again so painful.

9th

Pain is quite a bit better today so that's good. Later Paul had passing out due because of his diabetes was not being controlled right. Andrew and I got him sorted and he was OK later.

10th

Paul seems all right today. Bladder good apart from, not much warning for wanting a wee. Ironing for over two hours, very warm.  Grandchildren are on holiday in Turkey with their Dad well two of them are. Jay-Jay did not go, just Tommy-Lee and Jamie-Lee, It will be a bit hotter there I think.

12th

Kidney scan today, this did not take long. The lady scanner said she could not see anything wrong. Again I asked her about kidney stones and she said I could have had one and passed it hence the pain and bleeding. Because it was a week or so ago it would not show up now. More knitting, making a toy this time a Grandmother doll. Changed a few of the clothes colours to try to finish some of my bits and bobs of wool. I have finished knitting all my other things now. The tatties I planted are up and looking good we might get some little tatties from them, but will have to wait and see for a while.

14th

A nice start to the day I saw four squirrels may be five as one I could have seen twice. Went to see if the baby geese were there. They were, but on the island and unless I had food they were not coming to see me. My friend Jenny is here today after her hair trim, as usual looked very nice. While Jenny was here Lindsay tuned up. Lindsay ended up staying for tea we had stew it was very good, there is some left for another day too.  A lot of pain today mostly in my legs, got worse late at night had to take extra tablets. The front room tv has gone wrong so Paul is watching tv on a little one more like a monitor. He will have a new one soon.

15th

Another lovely summer's day very warm too, going to the dentist for a check-up. All Ok the dentist was going to clean them, but the machine would not work. Bit of shopping on the way back walking back home it was hot and humid. I was just about all in when I got home. At least I got the things I wanted so that was good. Lindsay came round soon after I got back guess what she stayed for tea again, chips this time. Put the blind we use for the greenhouse on, as it was getting very hot in there 48C at one time. Headache most of the day it's so humid and very heavy. This affects most RSD suffers like this. Paul has now got a new TV so the little one he was using is back in the computer room. The TV looks very similar to the other one. I knew he would not be without one for long.

17th

Summers Hair cut today a bit shorter as she is getting very hot and bothered. She was good as usual and did not go to sleep this time. Paul and Andrew have gone to the Birmingham Airport to pick up Roberto one of Andrew's friends from Amsterdam. We were not sure if he would get here or not as Airport is delaying or canceling a lot of flights due to a lack of staff.  His flight was canceled, rebooked then delayed but he got here, and they are on their way back from  Airport. With it being late gone seven. Paul decided to get fish and chips for Roberto and him, and curry and chips for Andrew and I. But when does Paul need an excuse to get a takeaway. They were very good. The temperature got to 32/33C in the garden very hot and so heavy.

18th

Bit of rain today and it feels a bit coolers on the common. Doing my Blog, but somehow it just became deleted because it did not save for some reason. Had to do most of it again.  Chinese for tea, very good too and I enjoyed it so did Roberto.

19th

Summer and I saw Mary on the common and I took a picture of Rory as I did not have one of him.

Lovely Rory

Summer on the common her favourite place apart from my knee.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round. Jamie-Lee said she and Tommy-Lee had a good holiday. They did not stay too long as Jamie-Lee is back at school tomorrow. While she was here Lindsay cooked them both some tea. I did roast beef and all the bits, very good it was too. We had it a lot later and after Lindsay and Jamie-Lee had gone home. Have not done a proper roast dinner for a while. Andrew did not join us, having a pizza later. Roberto washed up and I dried.

20th

Today Andrew took Roberto on a walk and they went up Steep hill. (This hill is proberly the steepest hill in Lincoln.) Something he had wanted to do while here, In Holland, they do not have hills no a novelty for him. He said it was not too bad. Very warm today. Did the ironing not really the day to do it but now it's done till next time.

21st

Happy Birthday Andrew, hope you have a good day. We got him a phone plus other things. Lindsay was coming round but Tommy-Lee was not very well. We had an Indian takeaway for tea, very tasty and hot. I do not always have this as it can upset my stomach. Feeling very full now and just going to watch a bit of TV till bedtime. Later there was a police helicopter circling overhead. Paul found out on Facebook that it was a man with a baseball bat and a machete sword. The story said he had stabbed someone and the Police were looking for him. Not sure if they found him or not.

22nd

Woke at 5.45 very hot only bean in bed since 3.45 could not get back to sleep for ages still awake at 7am, dozed a bit then till I got up about 8am. I think the air was very heavy plus the spicy Indian food I had did not help. Feels a lot warmer today very hot no breese on the common. 11.30 it was 23C. Cleaning up down stair today. Very hot and heavy. After having quite a lot of heavy meals over the last few days for tea, I did a salad and new potatoes, good and just right after the richer meals we have had.

23rd

Well, another warm day but overcast later, but heavy and warm again. Summer and I went down Sincil Bank for a walk today it was a lot cooler as most in shade. Now and again she does like to have a change. Roberto's last full day as he goes back home tomorrow, For tea we are having the leftover Indian meal with baked potatoes.

24th

Roberto's last day, Andrew and he came for a walk on the common with Summer and I. He wanted to get a good picture of the Cathedral from the common, but it was very misty. Soon it was time for him to leave. Andrew got him a lot of cheese to take back with him so he and his wife will be very happy.  Paul took them both to the airport. A bit later Emmie came round and we played with the Barbie dolls. I have pulled my left groin a bit. Well, I say pulled not sure as RSD can just start hurting whenever it wants. Feels quite sore and hurts a lot when going up levels, and putting on shoes or socks or anything that requires raising my leg.

25th

Took the bench out of the greenhouse so I can plant the tomatoes I know they are late but they will be ok. Watered it well and got it all ready. Andrew and I asked Karol next door a bit ago if we could use part of his garden for extra plants we have. Sure no problem with that he said. The problem was it was so overgrown with ivy, nettles, and so many weeds. The ivy was coming over the wall from the car park that was the garage, now closed. I pushed it back and then started on the garden. Pulling up and digging as well as I could. My back was killing but only a bit to do now. Ignore it for now at least it has taken my mind off my groin pain. Anyway, somehow I got it all done and watered. Now ready for the plant's Tomatoes, and tobacco plants to see if they will do any good. These will be planted tomorrow as will the greenhouse. I hurt but so long as I do not move too fast it's okay. I know it hurts but it was all worthwhile as it looks really good.

26th

My back and legs are not the best but it will be alright once I get going. Put the toms in the greenhouse and Andrew did all the outside plants. Watered and settled them in rain later so just the right time. Plants are always better after a rain. Later I put slug pellets down, and cat stuff to keep them off the soil as well.

28th

Getting the bedroom sorted out as we are getting a new bed tomorrow. Also new bedding and curtains. I had to iron the curtains as they were so creased. Watered the plants and outside ones as not as much rain fell as expected. Bean quite windy and warm over the last few days.

30th

The bed has arrived so Paul is getting it sorted and putting on the headboard. Just have to put everything back and make up the bed. We have new pillows they are very thick and fluffy. We also have all new bedding. Paul is putting most of the old bed in the car, but the mattress will not fit so another trip will be needed, ready to take to the skip tomorrow, as not open today. Got most things back to normal, just my stuff to put back in the drawers under the bed. Looking after Emmie later, we came here for a bit then back to her house. While out Andrew had a fall and hurt his arm, a lot of nerve pain for a while. I think he will be alright tomorrow.

Well, here we are at the end of June, flaming June this time as bean very hot this month. Pain-wise average but more headaches. Mixed in other ways but quite good, as a new bed and tv which is mostly Paul's as he spends most of his time in there. Hope you all had a bit of the good weather and are all well. All the very best love Gill.

May.

 May 1st

A bit colder and very dull and overcast. I have started knitting a baby cardigan for Peter and Jenny's baby. This is a very pretty lemon yellow one, in my favourite pattern, it will not take long to do as a small size.

Saw some more chicks on the river while on Summer's walk. Not seen many this year this being the only second lot this year. At one time there were loads of little chicks on the river. I this a lot of the ducks have moved on. Lindsay came round later with Jamie Lee. Jamie Lee had got a bike computer from her Dad. Lindsay put it on for her she was very pleased. I have had one on my bike since I first got it in May 2008.

2nd

Saw Peters and Jenny's new baby today and she is so cute. I had bean in the garden, so I did not get a chance to hold her, as a bit mucky from weeding and things.  They will come back another day and maybe come in this time as just spoke on the doorstep. They thanked me for the things I made for Prisca a pretty name for a very cute little girl.

Little rabbit I made.

Jacket to fit a bit later.
Cardian plus hat and mitts.

4th

Got some more wool yesterday for two cardigans I am making, one for Emmie and one for Jamie-Lee. Also another ball of lemon for the baby cardigan. I did think I would make it with one ball but no, I ran out. Only needed a bit as well never mind I have more for other things. Got three tomato seedlings up so that's good as I thought at one point they had got lost. More will follow hopefully. Jay-Jay my Grandson called in later on his motorbike he is the oldest one eighteen now.  Had a bit of a tidy up of my wool, I have a lot now. I am going to knit more toys or baby things and match up the colours and use as much up as I can. The cardigan will not go to Prisca now as Jenny says she has so many. I told her I can always do her one for when she is older.

6th

Poor Tommy-Lee has tonsillitis and Jamie-Lee has a throat virus, both not very well. Tommy-Lee has suffered from tonsillitis for a while now, but they only do an operation if an emergency. Having a bit of a problem with Emmie's cardigan doing the pattern while decreasing for raglan shaping. I will get it sorted out properly tomorrow. Looked after Emmie for a little while so Ness and Squidgy went out for a bit. It was not long before they were home again. Talked to Ness for a bit then went home.

7th

Nice today quite fresh but warm as well lovely on the common with Summer. Had a phone call from the chemist to see how I was getting on with my new tablets. I said better no major problems this time. Ness asked me to go round to her house and sit in the garden with her and Squidgy. We just talked and listened to music. They had big fire lit as well, I enjoyed it, even though it was only two doors away.

8th

A steady day, a bit in the garden, knitting, changed the bedding and got it washed and dried. So tired today, more pain than usual.

9th

Ironing the bedding plus anything else that needed doing. Got the cardigan right now I decided not to do the pattern all the way up the sleeve. Hope it will look ok I think it will. Still, very tired today and the pain has not settled much.

11th

Finished off the second sleeve of cardigan for Emmie so only the dreaded bands to do. Not very keen on doing them. Also finished off the lemon baby one. Just needs sewing up. Doing the bedrooms today still feel a bit off it but not giving in to it.

12th

Nice walk on the common with Debbie and Kipling. Mary and Rory. Rory is such a sweet dog considering he spent two years on the streets. Rest day today not doing too much only the necessary things. Jenny came later after having her hair cut just down the road. Looks very nice too. She had a virus last week and was not too well.

13th

A windy day. The common is looking very pretty at the moment the trees are beautiful, green and very lush. Mayflower trees are all over the common white with the occasional pink blossom.

That's Pup.

Very large chestnut tree with candles in full bloom.

Loads of buttercups.

15th

Blood test today at the hospital, this is to check things for my heart scan on the 22nd of this month. All went well only one attempt to get blood. Sometimes it's hard to get blood from me as my veins are very thin and the needle can just straight go through. After Paul and I went to get some new bedding for our bed. We had different ideas so we did well to get two lots so we were both happy.

16th

Another warm day but so humid storms later, I do hope so as my head feels like it's going to split.

While on the common I took some pictures of the two Canadian geese that have taken up living there. They now have little chicks six of them, so cute. While getting the picture they came very close, as I do not like feathered things so this was a bit much for me, so Summer and I left them to their very cute babies. At least I got some good pictures. I was told by a few people they are feeding the geese, so that's why they came close they thought I had food for them.

So very cute all legs.

17th

Still very humid we did not get any storms yesterday. Tired today, I think the headaches for the past few days have not helped much. Come on let's have a massive storm to clear the air. Cleaned out some big plant pots that have bean in Karol's garden. My greenhouse is in his garden and has bean for at least the last twenty years or so. He is good to let me have it there, Karol is very easygoing and does not really care what I do. Some friends came round later with their dog Roxey. She was very good as still a Pup. Summer was very good with her as well, but Summer is good with everyone we have met.

19th

Went to visit a lady nearby she lives on her own and is very lonely even though a lot of people go to see her. She is a very lovely lady, used to be a very top class hairdresser in London Oxford Sreet. A man who lives near her said she invited a lady into her house only for her to steal off her. How horrible is that, some old people are too trusting. I only met her myself on the fairground common a year or so ago.

22nd

Heart scan at Grantham hospital Paul is taking me there. The journey was good too, not a lot of pain this time. Hopefully, the way back will be the same. Two scans with a drip for one, all went well just getting the cannula in was a bit hard for the scanner. I did warn him about my veins, but he did well with only two attempts. Very warm feeling as the fluid was going through with a feeling of wanting a wee. We went to a garden centre after. Loads of dogs, there is a cafe where they can go, not just the dogs but their owners too. Hopefully, I will hear about my scan soon and see what's going on with my heart. Ok going home too so pleased as when went to the sea I suffered quite a bit and it's about the same distance.

26th

I went to see my friend Mary and her dog Rory plus another friend from the common with her dog as well. A very lovely morning with them. Mary's grandson is here on a visit from South Africa, a very nice lad and has such a lovely accent. I have a bit of CYSTITIS but am taking some powders from the chemist called CYSTO CALM. They usually work quite well as I have had CYSTITIS be for.  Hope for the best as not very nice.

27th

Powders seem to be working as CYSTITIS not as bad so I am still taking them. Looking after Emmie tonight the girl from two doors away, may not see her again regularly as they will be moving very soon. Like I said I will miss them a lot. Emmie said she did not want to go. I said I will go and see them all and they can come here. Emmie was good as usual.

28th

Well was I wrong about the CYSTITIS, it is terrible today pain, blood, and stomach swollen, very tender. Tried to phone 111 got through, and pressed just about every button on the phone, taking around seven minutes. Only to be told due to a large volume of calls, and to try later and was cut off. I will keep taking the powders and IBUES to lower my temperature and to help the pain. I did not try 111 again.

29th

Emmies Birthday day ten today, took around her presents she liked them. Two novelty pens and books. The little Emmie doll look like I made for her. Plus some large light up balloons in pink, they glow for days. Resting today and knitting a bit as I feel a bit rough.

The look-alike doll I made for Emmie.

30th

Paul got me an appointment to see the Doctor this was the wife of the Doctor I see. I had not met her be for. The appointment was at the other surgery so Paul took me. I was examined and a sample of urine was tested. I had an infection. She wants me to be seen by the hospital and have a scan of my kidneys and bladder, plus other tests. The Doctor said this will not be too long be for I am seen. I think I have heard that one, before just but wait and see what happens. I was given ANTIBIOTICS CEFALEXIN 500mg - 3 a day for a week. If the urine test shows up a different infection I will be contacted and the tablets changed. Feeling very tired so sitting down for much of the day.

31st

Doctors today for a blood test to see how the new tablets I started for my heart are affecting my blood.

Well, another Blog published- and more to tell, some good and some not so good. The weather has warmed up most days now. So that helps me a lot, but still suffering at times. Infections do not help either. RSD does not care so we RSD suffers have to make the most of it. I look forward to mine and Summer's walk every day. Going out in the car can be very painful as you all know. So this is mostly all I have but it's one of the best.  Hope you all are well and pain-free as possible Love Gill.

April.

 1st

Bit of snow on the rooftops, but by mid-morning, it had all gone. At least I was right about the snow. Bit more snow and sleet later.

3rd

A frosty start, lovely on the common very fresh.  Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round later. They brought  Suey their dog, best friends with Summer. Both were very excited to see each other. I hurt quite a lot today with pain everywhere. Started making a little jacket for a new baby girl. The baby was born a few days ago. So I thought I would make her something. The parents got covid soon after her birth so I have not seen them.

5th

My friend Debbie's Birthday today, I made her a Womble as part of her present. She liked him very much.

Mr womble.

I have now finished off the Jamie-Lee doll. Jamie-Lee will get it next time they are here. I have started knitting a little doll for Emmie two doors away. This does not take much wool and is ideal for leftover wool from other things I have made.

8th

I have somehow gone wrong on the baby jacket I am knitting. I think I know what I have done. I got it sorted it was too many rows between the buttonholes. The mice seem to have gone from the shed. Hopefully, they have found somewhere warm to live. I felt quite guilty turning them out of their little den.

Spring has sprung on the common and trees are beginning to look green again breaking into buds. Not all of them, some are still very dark looking. I have had no letter from the cardiology about my tablets so cannot get more. My Doctors will get the same letter as well and add the tablets to my list. I am now only taking one, BISOPROLOL. For the last few days, I have only bean taking half a tablet or they would have run out by now. All the others have had major side effects. Really bad stomach pain, the runs, and terrible bloating. I rang them and the receptionist said there is a letter on the way. I said that's what the other two said. I told her that it had bean a month since I saw the Cardiologist, surely that's enough time to get a letter to my doctor.  My friend Tracy has Covid but is not too bad.

Went to Gio cashing (modern treasure hunt) with Lindsay and Jamie-Lee. Jamie-Lee found them all. I thought I had found one, but it was an ariel lead from a TV.  The bit you are looking for is usually in a capsule. No little gifts this time, just bits of paper that you sign your name on, to tell others that you have found it. A nice hour or so but, I did not feel the best. Neither did Lindsay so we did not stop out too long. At least Jamie-Lee had a bit of something different during her Easter holidays.

10th

Chilly start to the day but it soon warmed when the sun came out. Nice steady walk on the common, mind you with Summer there is not much chance of a fast walk. Unless that is she sees Mary, then she will get a bit faster so she can get a treat from her. Ness and Squidgy house has got an offer on it. They have an open day later in the week so there might be more offers. Emmie came round to play for a bit and was playing catch with Andy from across the road, who came for a coffee. Andy went and Emmie and I played for a bit. Lindsay and Jamie-Lee were coming but Lindsay did not feel well. She still gets terrible headaches. Hope you feel better soon Lindsay.

11th

I spoke to the secretary of cardiology at the hospital. This is the third time I have rung them up. She said a letter has bean sent today. I said I am now out of tablets with no way of getting more as no letter. With it being Easter this week there will be little chance of getting them for a week at least. Why put you on tablets if there is no chance of getting more?

13th

Rain today, we have hardly had any rain this month usually it's showers most of the month. Put in some seeds today toms and flowers.

Gave Jamie-Lee her look-alike doll, she loved it. I will get the boys something as well. I told her how much work went into it.

In her school uniform same as Jamie-Lee's.
This hair took around five hours to do using a crochet hook.

Ready to go to school.

Lindsay is quite a bit better after her bad head pains. They stayed for tea. Tracy has recovered from covid as it was only a slight case.

Lindsay got a phone call from Andy (Ex and Jamie-Lee's Dad saying he had lost his phone on the cow paddle where he takes his dog Rocky for a walk. Lindsay and Jamie-Lee went to help I was hoping they would find it as it was getting dark. Jamie-Lee did find it after Lindsay rang it. Well done Jamie-Lee. Andy gave her some money.

14th

Another warm day, cleaning up today then into town to get Jay-Jay and Tommy-Lee something as I gave Jamie-Lee the doll.   I got them shower gel deodorant and a bag of lollies. I hurt a lot coming home, times like this I wish I had gone on my scooter. Probably done too much, but when I can do things I do or nothing would get done. I can rest now.  I paid for it later PAIN everywhere. At last, I got a letter from cardiology so my doctor will have one as well.

15th

Weeded all the garden not too much to do as I try to keep up with the weeds, with the warmer weather they are coming up a bit faster. A lot of the flowers coming up as well. I prefer being outside even in the rain. Watered it as well as very little rain this month. After tea, I sprayed all the garden with greenfly killer. Changed the bed as meant to be a nice windy day tomorrow so the bedding will dry.  I am very tired now but not in too much pain as yet, 10pm.

17th

Another warm sunny day. Summer had a bath so she is so soft and fluffy. I washed her basket, and she was not happy that she could not go in it. I showed it on the line, she just huffed and puffed a bit. I did make her a bed but it was not her basket so still not very happy. Later after her basket was dried she had a good sleep in it, very content again. I have now finished the baby things for Peter and Jenny's baby.  I am making a little rabbit as well.

Jacket for when she is a bit older 3-6mounths.
Baby set for now.

The little doll for Emmie looks like her too.
Another little doll I made earlier this year.

All the knitted things have bean finished, I have started making Emmie a cardigan in multi-coloured wool. This is for Christmas so I can pick it up and put it down as I like.

18th

Summer hurt her back paw on the common while playing with another dog. She limped for a bit but when she saw Mary she ran to her for her treat. So I thought it was just a pull or something. Later on, she looked very sad, (she can do a very sad face and you have to feel sorry for her,) and was limping quite a lot.  I looked at her paw, and she had something between her paw pads about the size of a small marble. I got it out but she struggled against me. Not sure if this was the cause of her limping though as It looked like it had bean there more than today. Anyway, I am sure she will feel better than without it. We will see how it is tomorrow, might have to have a rest day.

I hurt as well not so much my legs this time, my arms. I can not get rid of the pain, like a flu-like one.

19th

Seemed funny not going on the common, as Summer was limping quite badly still. She did seem to mind too much staying in though. So maybe she was in a bit of pain. Sewing together the rabbit I am making for the baby. I put the arm joint on wrong and could not get it off. They are designed not to come off for safety. Andrew managed to do it for me, by cutting it. Normally I would have just cut around the joint but, I had no more fur of that colour left. I had plenty of joints. I got it done and just need to stuff it now.

Later Summer was not limping hardly at all, so hopefully, it's the common tomorrow.

20th

All of a sudden the common is alive again. The trees are bursting out and the trees are waking up for Spring. Summer and I were on the common and both of us enjoyed it a lot. She saw Mary and got her treats, also some more of her dog friends. I rang up the doctor to see if they had done my tablets from the hospital. NO, they had not got a letter yet. I told them I had, and they should have too. I had to take mine in so they could copy it. Now the doctor needs to see it and pass it. So in all probably another week's time before its sorted. I will try to speak to him next week when he is in the surgery. Not good enough is it? I went to see the cardiologist on the 8th of March.

Summer seems a lot better today a slight limp but she seems a lot happier. I noticed the claws on her back feet were quite long. I will get in touch with Maxine to get them cut. I could take her elsewhere but she trusts her.

I had a lot of left hip pain later, could because I was on my bike earlier.

21st

Deadheading the flowers cutting back the daffs to give more room for upcoming plants, Pulling up the few weeds that have come up, and a general tidy up to keep on top of it. My Hip seems to be fine today so that's good. Summer's back to normal now, not that she is like a normal dog at all more human.

Ness and Squidgy have sold their house.

Rabbit is now done and looking good.

Cute rabbit.

22nd

A bit chilly to start with, with a cold east wind, I had my gloves on, Mary said she was cold as well. Rory is a roamer, bouncing around the rabbit holes. So she stands still a lot and gets cold easily.

Cleaning upstairs today Paul is going to do the computer room at the weekend (Wayne Ha Ha)

Summer and Rory ate something in the park this morning and now Summer is not feeling too well. Her stomach was making loud noises. I rubbed it a bit and she let off quite a bit of smelly wind, I stopped up with her till nearly 4am by that time I think she felt a bit better, both of us to bed.

23rd

So much colder today I had on my big coat again and gloves. I have RAYANRDS so my hands are soon cold. Most of the last few days I have bean wearing my first proper running jacket, which I got around 1992 when I first joined Lincoln Road Runners. Thinner than my winter jacket. Summer seems very tired today but she has bean in season so I think that's why.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee called in they are going to the fair on the common. This time it is here from 20th till 24th of this month, Usually here a week. Tomorrow they are going again with Tracy.

Summer did not want her chew so kept it in her mouth for over an hour then she buried it on the grass. She is not very good at this.

Her idea of burring.

25th

Lost the little screw from my glasses, found it again, then lost it in the drawer  I found it, only to loose it again on the carpet, looked for over an hour, this time I could not find it. I will just go to the opticians and get them to put another one in. I think it could have bean loose a while because they have not fitted right for a few weeks. I do not wear them all the time, mostly used as sunglasses. Bit more Knitting of Emmies cardigan going well.

26th

Cleaning up today, I managed to knock over a plant, a mug of tea, and my salt lamp which broke the bulb. All sorted but I could have done without it all, as wanted to get it all done. I feel quite tired today less sleep than normal over the last few days. Spoke to my own doctor today about the heart tablets that I have bean put on from the hospital. He is doing the prescription today changing three of them for coated tablets. So they should be ready this week. At last, I am getting nearer to getting them, but we will see, so far it's bean a complete disaster.

27th

On our walk today Summer met a greyhound, The man said she does not usually come up to people. She spotted Summer and came straight over. She let me stroke her as well. The man said this has never happened before. The dog was I think was called Hogen, and was usually very shy. I told him that Sumer was very gentle towards people, and has a calming influence on other dogs especially if they are a bit timid or young. He stroked and loved her thick soft fur. Summer lapped it up and looked up if so to say I can take more of this.  Near the park we met a couple with two young children, they were stroking Summer and again saying how soft and lovely she was.

Going to Lidils today with Andrew, it's Dutch Week, so things he used to have when he lived in Amsterdam, he is hoping to get today. He got lots of things, the basket seems to fill up more when I said I would pay. Got Paul beer and dates, and I got rice cakes and a bag of sweets. Summer got a chew out of her supply. She was happy to see us back. She does not like anyone leaving the house at all.

28th

Cold today, back to winter again. Nice but chilly walk on the common. When we got back Maxine had come round to cut Summers's toenails. I rang her and asked her to call in when she was in this area. Summer was a bit confused as to why  Maxine was here. When she comes to give her a trim, the cloth is down and she brings her table. As neither were here she did not know what was going on. Nails soon cut and Summer ok again.  Thank you so much, Maxine.

Went into town to get my glasses screw done. Got a few bits I wanted, more wool for a cardigan for Jamie-Lee. She liked the one I was doing for Emmie, she would like blue instead of pink. Another one to take my time over as it will be for her Birthday I think, in September.

30th

Well, today I actually got my tablets today that were prescribed for me on March 8th, I ran out and could not get any more like I said earlier in my blog. They have bean changed slightly so hopefully, they will be better.

ATORVASTATIN FILM-COATED 20MG- CLOPIDOGREL FILM-COATED-75MG BISOPROLOL FUMARATE 2.5MG. The spray to go under my tongue has not bean changed. LANSOPRAZOLE has bean stopped., good it did not suit me.

Well, not too bad a month this time. The days are getting warmer so that makes everything better for me. I think most people will agree. Hope you are enjoying the sunshine and coping with your RSD.Love Gill and Summer.
