SEPTEMBER (1)

September 1st

Had a nice letter from my friend Beeston Bev catching up with everything that has bean going on. I rang her and told her my news and family news. We are going to meet up in October after her holiday and mine.

Jamie-Lee was here from around 1-00pm. She had bean at her Dads but got bored. To be fair to him he has had the two younger children for the last few days while Lindsay recovers from her pain block.
I spoke to her and she said the pain felt a little bit better than the last few days.

Chris (Andrews Friend) played with her for a while, so did Andrew and Hannah.
We all had tea then Jamie-Lee went back to her Dads she could not stay here as I have a full house already.

2nd

Went to see my Mum and Dad also Brother Phillip at the Crematorium took some flowers and stayed a while. I tend to tell them everything that has bean going on. Some how this makes it all less real they are not still here. Everyone has their own way of coping with death.

Phoned Lindsay and spoke to Jay-Jay he said Mum was telling them off so she must be feeling better. The last few days she mostly bean asleep or resting.

My knee is still playing up and I am very tired, lack of sleep I think, but not much I can do about that one.

3rd

Walk on the common with Ben-- glass all over and bin bags just emptied out. The glass is on the paths and grass and lots of it. I carried Summer but not everyone is lucky to have a small dog. I picked up as much as I could, one lady said the Council had bean informed and were on their way to sort it out.

4th

Early hours of the morning I was sat with my feet slightly up, when I tried to stand up pain shot through my left big toe, the toe went right under and pain went up my leg. I tried to bend the toe straight but all I could was try and rub it back to normal. This went on for over an hour. I was sweating and in a lot of pain. Finally the spasm released and I was able to stand up, only for it to start again. This time it only lasted a short while. Even when I went to bed my big toe was still twitching and I was afraid it would all start again. I think this happened because I had my legs up to try to stop the pains in my knee.

Cleaning up later. Night time and I try to knit a pair of boots for Jamie-Lee's doll that she is getting for her birthday. The pattern did not make sense to me picot edging in the middle of the boot instead of sewing it up. I tried it so many times. In the end I went on the web and realised that you do it from the back and not the front. Over three hours to do the first one and an hour to do the second one.
I usually don't give up on things but I nearly did on this one. RSD can make your brain I think, turn to mush.

6th

B12-- has it really bean eight weeks since the last one. This time it did not hurt too much.
Joy was here just before and we had a catch up chat. She always brings Summer a chew so she was happy.

7th

Age UK very busy today I did not even speak to Jenny for over an hour. I was late getting there as I was waiting for a phone call.
Trying to find a pretty dress for Jamie-Lee's doll that I mentioned earlier.
I got two very pretty ones at a charity shop so I was pleased. Little new dresses are very expensive.

Bean looking after a neighbours cats again Andy, one of them likes to sit in the road. He knows that I am feeding him so he crosses the road to see me. Not a good thing to do as there are cars and vans up and down. Not a busy road but it only takes one car to hit him. I know he is missing his owner and I think he is eating more to make up for it. I not too sure if the other cat is getting any food as he is not always there. This week a few people have thought he was homeless. He even ended up on face book, asking if any one knew who he belonged to.

Bad head pains later I think because I am exhausted but how can I sleep when my body will not let me. All my conditions get mixed up and they all start fighting each other.

8th

Happy Birthday to Tommy-Lee 12 and Jamie-Lee 6 today. Paul had sorted out a special surprise for them at football. Magic Moments where they get to meet all the players and get special attention.

We got Jamie-Lee a Annabell doll plus a lot of clothes, some from when she was first born plus a bouncy chair. Tommy-Lee a Lincoln City football kit.

 Opening her present.
 There she is Annabell.

 Tommy-Lee looking at the tickets.
 Well happy.

 His football shirt.

Lindsay and Tommy-Lee with the tickets Jamie had a melt down so would not have her picture taken.

Soon it was time to meet Paul at the stadium.
With Paul in the dug out.
 Also in the dugout.
Tommy getting autographs.

Despite Jamie-Lee having a meltdown she enjoyed the match very much.
Tired after all the cheering.
With the Lincoln City managers-- The Cowley Brothers.

I hope you both had a lovely day and enjoyed all the surprises.

9th

Happy Birthday to Ben next door ninety four today. Took him a card and a present of Lynz he was happy.

Still bad head and very far away feeling. At times dizzy too. Not doing too much today.

Andy is back today so hopefully the cats will settle down and stop crossing the road now. He gave me a voucher for looking after the cats that was very nice of him as I don't expect anything.

Andrew and Hannah made cakes for Tommy-Lee and Jamie-Lee Birthdays.

 Barbie Girl.
Football mad.
I think they were lovely and a lot better than I could have done.

10th

Up at 8am despite only getting two hour in bed. Took Summer on her walk, the mornings are getting quite a bit colder now.

Cleaning up downstairs today. Not sure how it will go as not much go left in me.

Night time looking after Jamie-Lee for a few hours. She had some tea with us. I thought Mummy said you had already had your tea Jamie-Lee, she had chips and gravy. I have never know a child like gravy so much.

Andrew and Hannah gave her the cake she was very pleased with it. She said I have never seen such a beautiful cake, even better than yours Nanny.

Jamie-Lee very HAPPY

Tommy-Lee did not come as he was out with his friends. He can have his at a later time.

Soon Lindsay was back and time for for Jamie-Lee to go. She took her cake and Baby Annabell things home.

12th

Pilate's this week knee still not good but I decided to go. Not too bad a session either. Jo was back from her holidays. Not good-- bad weather and bad conditions where she stayed. Nice day so I did some washing. Bit cold going there on my bike soon be time for gloves.

I had my bike serviced while the class was on. The man lives at Heighington and runs a bike shop, so it made sense to have it done there. The man I already knew he was a teacher from Andrew and Lindsay's primary school. He adjusted my brakes and checked and replaced cables, Oiled and tightened. Going home it did ride better and the brakes were very kean..

When I got home and opened the door, Summer shot out as Smudge the cat was there in the road as usual. A van was coming round the corner I pushed my bike in and stopped the van. I picked Smudge up and carried him back to his side. I shouted at Summer to get in, she did what she was told-Good girl Summer. The van driver was laughing as well. Not funny for me, but it must have looked like a Monty Python comedy sketch. Ironing later, arms and shoulders hurting

13th

A chilly start to the day. Andrew came with us on the South Common. He and Hannah like to see the horses.
The day soon warmed up and the washing got dried. I washed Summers basket too. I ironed later, after yesterdays lot my arms and shoulders were really hurting today. A few tablets later and things were a bit better. Ironing two days on the trot does not go well for me.

14th

Age UK today last one for a week as on holiday starting Saturday.  Quite busy, and a few moaning customers, and some just plain rude. We also have some lovely people come too.

A bit of shopping then home. I need to pack as not even started yet, but for me just open the cupboards and wardrobe and take out the things I need Simple.

I am looking forward to a week away as the last few weeks have bean a bit tough. That why this blog has bean published a few days earlier. The next one will be all about the holiday and what I got up to..
All the best to you all and I hope things are going well as they they can be.. Love Gill.

August (2)

August 17th

Age UK very busy--I went in and did not get signed in till an hour later as the customers kept coming. A long busy day and pleased I am not doing it all the time.

Squidge (a neighbour) came round and asked if I would look after Emmie and Ben. I said I would if they were back around midnight as I was very tired and bean in a lot of extra pain. (I sounded a bit like their parents.) I went round at 7-00pm. Emmie and I did all sorts from colouring to playing with her dolls. Ben was mostly upstairs coming down for food and to see me. Ness and Squidge got back around 11-45pm so not late. I stayed for a drink then home.

Had a nice soothing bath then a bit of TV then bed. Lots of extra tablets taken today probably at the limit whatever that is. Even took OROMORPH last resort.

18th

The last few days my sweating has bean quite bad, this had stopped a lot but now seems to be back with a vengeance. Not a lot I can do about it.
Knee has not bean good either so I think the up in pain levels have not helped the RSD at all.

Finishing off the cleaning I started on Thursday, despite my knee pain I got it all done.

19th

On Summers walk with out Ben today. He will join us later on the afternoon walk. Paul's parents came round, but I did not see them too much as out with Ben at 3-00pm.
Andrew and Hannah (Andrew's girlfriend) went for a walk too, as they often do, and go and see the horses. There are only nine now and they come right up to you. We saw them walking towards the horses and joined them. . Ben liked it when he could pat and stroke them. They kept trying to get in his pockets I think for treats

Knee very painful at night time I did not know where to put my leg as it ached so much.

20th

Washing and ironing (bit warm for this) and changed the bed, cleaned the bedrooms apart from the computer room.
Andy came across and asked me to look after the cats for him on Sunday and Monday morning
I also took up a pairs of trousers for him

Heavy air later on, hope there is going to be a storm. My head is bad and I feel like a weight is on my back and shoulders.

21st

Got Jamie-Lee today as Paul took Lindsay to Nottingham for a pain clinic appointment. Hope they are better than Lincoln. While Jamie was on her Ipad I got the rest done upstairs. When I came down we played Kerplunk for a while. She even roped Andrew and Hannah in for a few games. I think they both enjoyed it too.

Lindsay got back around 2pm so not too late. She is to have an injection into her head/neck next week. This hopefully will block the pain she is getting. About time they did something.

Tommy-Lee came back with Lindsay. He had dropped his mobile phone down the toilet. He has only had it a few weeks. Jay Jay broke his other one. Tommy is usually good with his things but this just slipped off the toilet top straight into the bowl Not sure if it will dry out, hope so.

Jamie-Lee was getting a bit loud and tired so all of then left for home. Bit of peace for me also.

Chris, one of Andrews friends has bean staying the odd night to finish off some Uni work and is here today. Helps him out as his home is not in town.

22nd

No Pilates today my knee would complain as still very sore. The scan could be along way off.

No Ben on Summers walk, his Mum said he was having a lie in, then they were going swimming. Ness asked me round for a chat and cup of tea. Sat in her garden very nice and warm. Emmie's paddling pool would not blow up so I went and got my own one. No blowing up just pull up the sides. Ness filled it up and Emmie got in. Cold water too, no hot, Jamie-Lee has a few buckets of hot in it. Emmie was having a good time in it so I left it there till Jamie-Lee needs it.

Came home and gave Summer a bath so she's nice and soft now and white again.

A lot of rain overnight chucking it down when I went to bed around 4-30am, seemed a lot colder too.

23rd

Going into town to get Tommy-Lee and Jamie-Lee shoes. Jay-Jay is alright as he only got his earlier this year. I think he has slowed down in his feet growing as already in an eight.
Went into Clark's shop and was asked if we could be helped, I said do we need to take a ticket, NO she said I will serve you now. Shock horror, as we normally have to wait even when Lindsay has booked. Not very much later two pairs of shoes and £84-00 lighter we left the shop to go for dinner. I was very pleased it was quick as the noise was very loud and I was already in pain. I thought it would get to Lindsay but she said she was OK. A better day for her

Chip shop here we come. Tommy ordered fish and chips adult size, and looked worried as it was the dearest thing on the menu. I said as long as you eat it, its OK. He just about did just a few scraps of chips left. We all had a good meal. Another £25-00 gone. I realise now why I don't take them shopping much.
On to JDs Sports to get a bag for Tommy-Lee,  I found a bargain pair of trainers for him, £10-00 only. He was so excited they fitted well too size six now. I bought one, Lindsay the other one. He stood at the counter in his socks waiting to pay so he could wear them home.
Now lets go home as I hurt and am very tired. Lindsay got picked up later and they went home.

Very cold night I think Summer is over for now? I could see my breathe when I breathed out.

24th

Age UK again, soon comes round and busy again. Did not leave till nearly 3-00pm. I am pleased that the work is not too hard as I would never be able to do it. This little voluntary job makes me feel like I am no different to anyone else there. No shopping today straight home.

When I got home Hannah, said she would cook tea. A lovely chicken curry with rice very very, nice. Thank you Hannah.

25th

Very tired, well exhausted, is more the word. I went on to a CHRONIC FATIGUE website and looked at the symptoms and everyone I could tick. I was diagnosed around twelve years ago. I did not think it had such an impact on me., If I could only sleep I think it would help everything. I bet you ones with RSD are thinking the same too.
Anyway it's my life and I just have to put up with all the crap that RSD and the other things throw at me, I can't throw it back either. Its here to stay so I try to make the best of it and try to carry on with my life but sometimes its very tough. Also knowing it will not improve-- the opposite really as we are all getting older.

28th

Quite a nice day I think Summer has returned again. A lovely walk on the common with Summer.
My knee felt sore the whole way round. Hip very painful as well, but I think this is the way I am walking because of my knee.

Out tonight with the in laws. It's Pam my sister in laws 60th Birthday meal, also her and Malcolm's 40th wedding anniversary. At one point Pam was given 5% chance of recovering from a stroke and brain haemorrhage. She has done extremely well to be at this Birthday. A good meal and catch up with everyone.

 Paul and I.
Malcolm and Pam.
The birthday girl herself, Pam.

29th

Lindsay at last is having something done about her brain bleed and violent headaches. A pain block into her head/neck. This is hopefully going to stop the pain but it can be risky as it might not work. She will know in around three or four days. Paul said she was suffering on the way home.

Pilate's went quite well, Jeff took the class as Jo was on holiday.  Knee quite painful after and also  from biking.

I got a phone call to say I was booked in for a scan tomorrow, 2-00pm at BMI Hospital (a private one).

30th

The scan was a MRI one- this felt like being on a roller coaster and being shocked at the same time, very painful. The scan lasted around twenty minutes. Very noisy even with double head phones on. I just laid there very still and listened to the music hoping it would soon be over. I counted five songs so I knew the end must be in sight. When I got off the table I was shaking and my whole body was tingling. This lasted the whole day. I felt quite strange at times too. RSD does not like noise or vibrations, MRI scan is all this and more. Hopefully the scan will show what is wrong with my knee. Still could be the RSD spread but I am not sure about that as the pain is different.

Lindsay has bean asleep most of the day so no news that it has helped yet, time will tell.

31st

Age UK steady today so I was pleased as knee still playing up. Left around 3-00pm as Jenny and I stopped to help Chris the cook.

Forgot to get my tablets so Paul said he would get them tomorrow.

Hannah cooked tea again, I could get used to this. This time pan fried chicken and leak and potato bake in a cream sauce plus spinach. All very tasty, again thank you Hannah.

Well that's August Blog done. Hope things are well with you all.

Just something that has got me quite mad.

I walk past the Salvation Army place and usually there are up to ten people sat/laid there. I say laid in a very loose term as some are completely out of it, almost naked and on the floor. I would say out of the ten, only two could get up and walk. What can this be that has rendered these people like this...... "Legal Highs" that's what. The stuff that this Government has let happen. I go into the town centre and more of them Zombies-- that's what they are being called. Extra police have bean drafted in to cope and move them on, that's when they can walk. At times they are taken away in an ambulance. The cost to the city must be huge and could have bean avoided. .....  LEGALISE MEDICAL CANNABIS. This has sort of come in for medical use, but its very hit and miss. People who use this are NOT laid on the streets half naked and out cold. NO they are at home very relaxed and eating munchies, (one side affect of Cannabis). Probably the only side affect so long as they don't mix it with alcohol or other drugs. This works for pain, I know I have tried it. This can help people with MS and Cancer plus many more- children are alive today from using it. People are made to use backstreet sellers and feel like a criminal. That's what they have become because, its NOT LEGAL. The Government could gain money too on tax. So WHY don't they bring it in for ALL pain suffers now? This would have to be regulated as the strength and type could very.

 I have done now.
All the very best to you all love Gill.
