November

November 1st

Spoke to the Doctor that has bean looking after me regarding my wrist from when it was broke. My wrist is still very painful.  I have bean massaging it with PHORPAIN IBUPROFEN GEL 10% W/W, this helps a bit but I think there is something a bit wrong with my wrist. I twisted it when drying Luna, since then it has not bean right at all. The Doctor said I would receive an appointment soon to see him.

Cleaning up stairs today got most done, the rest tomorrow.

2nd

Pilates on my bike cold and windy. I think Winter is on its way. I did not go quite as hard on the squats this week, as muscle pain last time for a few days. Shows how much not doing something can affect you.

3rd

Finished off doing the bedrooms, went over downstairs as well. Paul was sanding the back hallway cupboard door and there was sawdust on the floor, so I left the vacuum out for him to finish when he had done.

Later a lot of fireworks were going off some with very loud bangs. I had Luna tucked in my hoodie and she seemed to like them. In fact she grumbled when it was quiet, more so with the ground fireworks. She could hear them but not see them.  I am still down stairs sleeping with Luna. We get quite a good nights sleep.  Not sure what the next step is but for now its as it is.

4th

A very wet day rained a lot, river is very high. We are lucky as many people have left their homes because of serious flooding. I know it's very wet on the common with small underground streams and rivers appearing in a lot of places. You have to be careful that you do not slip. Saw Mary and gave her the calming spray and plug in, to hopefully help Rory, as he is terrified of firework and loud bangs. He was a street dog for a few years so no ones really knows what he went through. Hope it helps as he is a lovely dog.

Our friend John is here tonight to treat us to a Chinese super as a thank you for Paul taking him to appointments out of Lincoln. The Chinese was very good and Andrew joined us as well, everyone enjoyed the food.

5th

Lindsay and family plus Paul, went to see the Sincil Bank football ground fireworks. Tommy-Lee's girlfriend Kiera had got a very bad case of TONSILLITIS and looked very pale. Tommy-Lee was not the best either. Andrew, Luna and I did not go. Andrew is not really interested and would sooner watch them in the garden. I can not go as it could bring on SEIZURES, the flashing lights have never bean very good for me even be for I had SEIZURES. I always felt dizzy at fairgrounds often with headaches too. At a display you are just sat waiting for the fireworks to begin, never on time either. No sooner started then finished. Not like when I was growing up, a big bonfire a small box of fireworks. A great time. We then watched any others that went off. So casual and just a nice night. When I was younger we often used to put half cooked potatoes to finish baking in the embers of the fire. My parents trusted us enough to let us do this and get close to the fire. Not like today, that is if there even is a bonfire at all, it would be roped off. Were we a lot more sensible or more grown up than to days children!?

6th

Today I am varnishing the doors for the cupboard that Paul has sanded down. This takes a long time as new soft wood. Three coats are recommend, I am hoping just to do two and see how it goes. This I am doing outside but it's a bit cold and soon gets dark. Going well, holding the brush a bit hard at times but starting and stopping seems to work. Most bits have had at least one coat so the rest another day.

Doing well with the blanket I am making, nearly half way there. Then I will be decreasing all the way down to four stitches again. When finished I will put a picture up. Just another one to make after this one is finished. I am going to do smaller stripes. Not sure why, but this seems to go quicker possibly because you change colour more often.

8th

Cold wind on the common. Saw Mary and Rory she said he was terrified and did not even want to go out for a wee. She thought the plug in and spray helped but needed more time to saturate the house. Poor Rory he is such a good dog. Luna's coat is keeping her warm and dry and everyone thinks she looks very cute in it. I got some new tracksters today for my Pilates sessions and when I go running again. My others are at least a decade old and very tattie. Hopefully they will be a bit warmer when going on my bike this winter. Got a few Christmas presents come as well.

10th

Paul and I took my bike (in the back of the car) for a service as badly needed one. He said he would have it done at the latest Wednesday next week.

Went into town to get a few Christmas presents did quite well too. Had to ring Paul to meet me, as the bags got too heavy for me. I was going to come home by bus but they are all usually full after the bus station stop. I would have got on the one out of town, so no much chance of getting a seat. I do not like buses anyway and have not bean on one for over three years since be for COVID. Very tired later and shoulder pain too, from the bags of shopping. Bit more of the blanket going well.

14th

Nice walk on the common Squidgy and his son Ben (ex neighbours)came round to see us, just as I came back from the common. After they had gone I cleaned up before going to see my friend Lyn as its her Birthday. I looked at the clock and thought it said eleven am but no it was twelve. I had to hurry then as going on the bus around one ish. Got there ok it felt weird being on a bus again as not bean on one for around three years. The journey is only a short ride around two- three miles. Lyn and Mo her husband are both well. She looks very good as a bit older than me but not as many health problems. Good to see her, as last time we met up was my Birthday in February. Her bungalow is very nice and tidy the whole time but can be cold as they only heat up the one room.

16th

Pilates went well, the bike rode a lot smoother and just glided along. Went up Canwick hill lovely, cold and windy along the back roads. I put my balaclava on coming home under my helmet to cover my ears a lot warmer than going . A good session but wrist is very painful, not good when you need it to hold the handlebars. Cup of tea and a big cuddle with Luna when I got home.

18th

FLU and COVID jabs then into town to get some wool to make my friends baby a blanket. She is called Heather and is the new baby daughter of Helen and Paul and sister for Poppy who is four. Well done all of you.

Jabs went well arms a bit tender but not too bad. Came home and watched Starship take off went well did more this time. Did the belly flop not easy for something weighing around 120 tons plus.

Later we had Indian for tea very nice too. Later I did not feel the best probably tired out. During the night hot and cold dizzy even when lying down.

19th

Legs and arms very painful spasms too. Got up violent headache. I took Luna as sometimes it can help in the fresh cold air. I think it did make my head feel a bit better. I just feel so hot and dizzy all the time. Later mid afternoon I had a lay down on the settee with Luna of course. Felt better after wards head not as spinning.

20th

I feel a bit better but not really that good mostly just sat all day sometimes knitting other times just resting. Finished off the first blanket just the ends to sew in.

Blanket all done came out a bit bigger than the last one I made.

Getting the other one started now, smaller stripes like I said plus one more colour as I used some on first blanket. Did some washing and put it out I think it will dry.

21st

Looks like it will rain soon, so getting Luna out early after her brush. She did not get her brushed yesterday and it showed a few knots. Hopefully she will be able to get cut soon, last time she was scared of the clippers so Maxine could not do too much. I do feel quite a bit better but not quite right yet. I think this was a reaction to the jabs I had. At a guess I would say the FLU one. Any way I am on the way up now. I am going to give Pilates a miss this week as a ten mile round trip so not up to that.

Did a bit of cleaning up but forgot the water was off. Lucky it was not off long so able to do bathroom and kitchen the rest tomorrow.

23rd

As I said no Pilates this week. Rested and did more knitting of second blanket going well and seems to be faster. Twenty row stripes instead of forty rows, More changes and ends to sew in but looks good.

I feel stronger today but very tired and headache back again.  Limb pains just about gone now so I am very pleased about that.

25th

Sharp frost very cold on the common. Luna did not feel it as she was running around, I am pleased I got her the red coat as she soon gets cold when stood.  She now weighs 4.9kg so not much at all, since last month she has put on a little bit from 4.5. Later working on this Blog bringing it up to date.

Andrew and I are going to make a Christmas cake. I said I was not going to make one but Andrew said he would help so today's the day. Cake baking went well. Andrew did most of it and I weighed up the ingredients. The cake smelt so good while it was cooking. I am making John a sponge cake like I did last year. Then that's it, no more as it takes me a lot longer to do some things now. My grip is not good neither is my concentration either. I need my glasses to just see labels and cooking instructions.

27th

A wet start to the day. Luna was confused as we held off to see if the rain stopped a bit. We got out around two pm, so not too bad Luna was very happy. With going out at a different time we met a lot of new people and dogs. Paul and I went Christmas shopping to see what presents we could get. Not very successful as only got one. At least it's one less. I got Luna a treat ball recommended by Westie Vibes; a youtube channel I watch. You fill it with treats then the dog rolls it around to get them, can take a while as it has a lip. It's the Planet Dog Orbee- Tuff Lil'Snoop --Interactive Treat Dispensing Dog Toy small Royal Blue from Amazon.

28th

Luna's hair cut today, how will it go? Last time not too good as she was scared of the clippers. This time however, she very good and Maxine managed a good groom on her. I did have to hold her at times but on the whole she was very good. Maxine was very surprised how she coped with it all as well. She looks so sweet now and a lot smaller too.

She looks so sweet.

Had a walk with Andrew to get some things from Hobby Craft just outside of the town centre. Also Boyes in town, quite a walk as already bean on the common. It was very cold as well. Luna was not happy at being left but she will be alright. I did get my Brother his Christmas present so that's good. Luna was very happy we were back.

New people have moved in next door, and their dog barks a lot, it's only a little dog but can be very annoying.

29th

Went to see my friend Joy today took both her Christmas and Birthday present. I have not seen her for ages just speaking on the phone. Good afternoon and nice to see her face to face. Paul took me and the presents as around two miles away and I walked back calling in the town and getting a few more Christmas bits.

30th

No Pilates today as very cold again and sharp frost. I would be going on my bike and I did not think it was worth it for an hours Pilates. I think I will struggle in the cold weather getting there. I could go by bus, but it's around twenty minutes or more to the bus stop as it does not come past the high street. The buses are a mystery to everyone as they run when they feel like it. The first ones runs on time and after that's it's a have I missed it  or not. Coming back home it's the same. So I like to go on my bike when I can.

Luna had a "Pup day" she was just getting in to trouble, eating the plants that have bean brought in for winter, my vase of flowers too. I had to sort out some parcels for pick up, while at the door she ate my chocolate biscuits (not good for dogs at all). Not content with that she found a chocolate sweet and ate that too plus the wrapper.  All this while I was trying to clean up. A lot of parcels delivered today only one for us though. We take in parcels for others.

Well November gone nearly Christmas now. Not too bad a month for me apart from my reaction to the jabs. A fair bit of pain but I try not to dwell on it and just get on with it. Hope things are not too bad with you and you are coping well.

All the best to you and enjoy your Christmas.

Love Gill.

October

 October 1st

Lliam my Nephew is doing ok. Lincoln hospital panicked a bit over his burns. There are bad but as bad they first thought.  As far as they can see he will not need skin graphs. He was very lucky that his friend pulled off his t-shirt and doused him with water. This could have bean so much worse. Lliam saved his face by turning the other way when he realised what was happening. All the best Lliam and recover fast. I know he will not like being off work one bit.

3rd

Nice walk on the common with Luna, we saw some of our friends and some new ones as well. Luna loves meting people, friends or not. Went on a bike ride today to see if my bike is ok. The puncture  has bean mended and every thing was good. All ready for Thursday and Pilates.  My wrist is painful and swollen with spasms and  pain, plus electric shocks. I am sure  RSD has stuck its nose in again as the other wrist I broke (2019) was like it. Not as painful though. I think there might be more to it. I am having a call from the Doctor ( November 1st) I saw last time when my plaster was taken off.  I am not able to do as much knitting as I would like, as my wrist spasms up all the time. Paul is cleaning the bathroom, something I spent two hours doing a few days ago, and hurt a lot after. Because he sanded the door down inside the house instead of outside, it messed it up again. Complete waste of my time and effort on my part.

5th

Luna was awake at six thirty scratching the door and crying. I thought she would sleep more as bean awake since nine PM last night. She did not settle when I left her last night. She had two walks as well yesterday.Nothing seems to tire her out, or maybe she gets too tired. I did get to Pilates though and enjoyed it very much.Preety much the same as before corvid. A lot of people who went to the last sessions were there and a few new faces. They were pleased to see me. My bike went well and I got up Canwick hill, with electric power and peddling. Rained a bit going but fine coming home. Its around ten mile plus round trip.

7th

Last night I slept down stairs on the settee I am so fed up of coming up and down the stairs. Not getting hardly any sleep less then normal and that's not a lot. Luna slept well, I thought when I turned off the light she would jump up on the settee, no she did not and stayed in her basket all night. Being doing a bit more knitting made a bobble hat to go with a jacket I made sometime this year.  Took me three attempts to get a bobble that was good enough.

Bobble hat to go with the jacket I knitted for Meadow my Niece.

10th

Went with Paul to get some cupboard doors, hinges, and  nobs that we are replacing. They doors are thick with varnish, this time they are going to be waxed instead, hopefully by me. Luna and I had a good long walk on the common, she is getting a very confident little pup.

11th

I have now finished off the baby set I am making for Willow; Lliam and Fiona's baby.

Hope she likes it.

Next are things for Christmas presents. I have quite a  bit to do but its whether my wrist will let me. The knitting I am doing now is on circle needles so I think its a bit kinder on my wrists. Still I can only do a bit at a time.

12th

Pilates today. It's damp and cold but at least I did not get caught in the rain I was home by then. I did well and managed some things like arms up and swings that I could not do be for covid. My arms were just too painful back then from the RSD. Paul was here when I got back, he was not needed at the hospital volunteering. Very tired for the rest of the day but a nice tired after doing something I like, Pilates.

14th

A rest day or so I thought. Went out in the garden and decided to do some of the pulling up the dead bits and just general garden tidy. Going well till it rained but I got a lot of it done. Saved seeds for next year as well. Came in and did a bit more knitting instead.

15th

First frost of the year, when I was out side last night there was no sign of frost, so must have turned a lot colder later. Sunny later and warm in the sun but cold wind out of it. I know it was cold on the common.

16th

I have bean having trouble with one of my tablets for the last few weeks, 100MG  (TEGRETOL)  CARBAMAZEPINE - not being able to get them  being told the chemist they have got them, not got them not able to get them, being offered liquid instead then tablets again 200MG  I only had a few tablets left and need them for FACIAL NEURALGIA and these help very much.

Paul took  the old doors and other bits to the skip. I did a bit more in the garden so not much more to do now looks good as tidy now. Paul took all Lindsay's bits to her house that have bean in our shed. Also the Sylvanias that have bean here three years.

17th

I had a call from the chemist saying that I have bean prescribed 200 mg tablet of TEGRETOL CARBAMAZEPINE . I could have cried I thought it was all sorted out. I told her they are too small to be cutting them in half and the liquid was prescribed for me last week. She said she would sort it and ring me back later or tomorrow.

18th

Did two hours of ironing, sheets plus clothes. Very tired  today bean quite busy this last week. No phone call from Doctors or Chemist.

19th

I called the chemist to see what they had come up with and was told it was all in order, and she was stood there with the liquid in her hand. They had put a bit in a separate bottle for some reason instead of a bigger bottle she said. At least it was all sorted or was it? I hope so. I did not go to Pilates today not feeling the best very tired, when its getting close to my B12 injection (31st). I can feel very drained as if it has not quite the same affect or it it just me? Other people who have them have said the same thing. I think the hand pain is getting to me. I can knit, but not for long. I do not move my left hand when knitting, but still get a lot of spasms down it which are very painful and don't know when to stop.

20th

A lot of rain has fallen and the Sincil Bank is very high. I think it will go over some time soon. A lot of houses have bean flooded and people have had to move out. I know the under ground streams on the common are full and making mini rivers down the slopes and collecting in big puddles in a lot of places. Luna gets very wet and muddy. I need to get her a coat, she is so skinny so it will have to be a very slim one. We did not go out today as the rain hardly stopped. The trees are getting bare and the common is dieing off.  Soon it will look very bare and cold. I have bean told there are a lot of small deer on there and have bean seen by a lot of people.  I have not seen them as yet.

21st

The river is very high and can be seen from our house. My friend Debbie lives on the river  bank and is around two feet away from the river at the moment. She is not too bother as it has happened before and has bean higher.

22nd

Doing things in the  garden very wet but things need doing and tiding up. Usually I would have put plants in the green house for winter. The greenhouse now is not mine so no do. Weather it can be used again we will have to wait and see, if they use it or I can again. I cut through the little lights that we put up for Summer. Obviously they did not work after that. I tried to mend them but could not. My hands were like I had on boxing gloves again. Also I have tried to get rid off the rust marks caused by the chairs on the patio. I tried lemon juice and bicarbonate soda this helped a bit and I think it will fade with time.

25th

Cleaning upstairs, a good clean, moving things and putting the winter quilts on as colder now. Went into town later to get a Birthday present for Tracy. I got her a very nice jumper and I think she will like it. Also a few more gifts for Christmas presents. I did quite well in a short time I was there.

26th

Paul took me to Pilates as rain pouring down. A good session and I managed things that I could not  previously do. I did a load of squats and got down very low.

27th

Rest day as a bit tired today. Luna got very wet on the common as she was looking for Rory who kept wandering off. She needs a coat like I have already said. She stood there at the crossing shaking and was very wet. When we get home she gets dried off and we sit there with her wrapped in her soft towel. After a around an hour or so and a cup of tea later for me, a biscuit for Luna and she is raring to go again. I think I over did the squats at Pilates as muscles are tight in the top of my legs.

28th

Andrew and I went to "Pets at Home"  to get Luna a coat. We tried loads on but she is very skinny so not a lot fitted her. Luna walked most of the way and back only carried near a busy road called Tritton road. She was very tired when we got back and had a good sleep. She had already had a good walk in the morning. I think she probably walked around four miles in total maybe more.

29th

Luna wore her coat for the first time and got compliments from a few people who saw her. Debbie said she looked very cute, and she does. She likes it as well and does not try to get it off. The coat is very light and waterproof its a 3 peaks one so good quality. She felt nice and cosy when I took her coat off and a lot drier too.

She thinks she is cool.

I finished off the garden now and trimmed next doors roses like I used to do for Karol. The new people are hopping to move in next month. Bit more knitting later, the blanket, and two head bands, to keep ears warm instead of a hat. These are going be for Jamie-Lee, my  Granddaughter, and Emmie, who I used to look after two doors away be for they moved.

31st

Had my B12 injection  this hurt but only for a little while an hour or so. I am hopping this will make me feel a lot better with more energy .

Andrew is wearing the hoodie that I knitted him, and it looks good I am pleased with it. Whether I would make another adult one I am not too sure, as it took a lot of doing. When you are used to making little baby ones its a big jump up in size.

Andrew in his hoodie.

And a few bonus photos of Luna to end the blog:

Cavapoo-bowl

Luna and Andrew. Taken in September

Another month gone and Winter is here and it's cold now. The common has changed a lot and will change more as the year comes to the end. It's bean a painful month and tiring too, that's not going to change at all.

All the very best to you all. Love Gill

September.

September 2nd.

On the common with Luna, she decided it would be fun not to come back, when I called her to put on her lead. Told her off and finally got her ready to go home, she is very fast and to her everything is a game. Rest day today as tired from yesterday's gardening. Later the dog next door was barking, the family have gone on holiday and someone is supposed to be looking after him. He barked from the moment they went hardly stopping. At times he had a rest, poor dog, he must have bean exhausted. He upset Luna as well. Why have a dog if you can not make proper arrangements for him. When we see them we will ask what was arranged for the dog.

4th

A bit better night than lately with Luna. Going to be a hot day again. Going to do a bit more in the garden later. The dogs family came back around ten pm. A long time for a dog to be on its own. I am just pleased they are back.

5th

Luna was better at coming back on the common today. She comes back every other time but as soon as its lead time she does not listen. She even got a treat from my friend which she enjoyed very much, her first from a another person. Paul spoke to next door family and they said he was being looked after by a an elderly parent. She was deaf that explains the night, but not during day, as she would see him. Usually he only barks when on his own which I think, he was a lot. Any way they are back now and its there dog not mine

6th

Dull to start with then quite hot. Heavy air probably a storm later hopefully. My wrist, the one I broke is very painful spasms and just pain. I think this could be RSD more and more as time goes on. Very warm at night never dropped below 20C. I was even warm and I am usually cold even in the summer.

8th

Happy Birthday Tommy-Lee, seventeen and Jamie-Lee,eleven. We are seeing them tomorrow as they have plans today. Luna on the common was wild, you would not think she had so little sleep last night.

9th

Saw the grandchildren in the afternoon and Tommy-Lee's girlfriend who I had not previously met. Very preety and petite. Also saw there new puppy, a Border Collie called Bonnie. She was hot so did not have a lot to do with us. Lindsay said she is sleeping at night as well, being in Lindsay's room I think makes a huge difference to a Bonnie. I have said I will not take Luna upstairs as it will not be safe for me.

Went to see my friend Jenny, she is doing well. She has a two seater and three seater settee that she no longer wants as a new one is on its way. Paul took measurements but I think it will be too big we could have the big one but Paul said two or none. She also gave us loads of computer things that her late husband used to use, plus other things. Thank you very much Jenny good to see you.

11th

Slept in the front room so when Luna cried I just shouted to her "bed time go to sleep" I think it worked but, I said it lots of times. Cleaning up today got it all done apart from the dining room. A neighbour had arranged to have a parcel delivered here, as she would be out. Where did they try to deliver it-again? her  house of course.

13th

My friend Joy came to see me today. She brought sausage rolls, plus a packet of treats for Luna. This is the first time Joy has seen her and she thought she was lovely. Her nephew has got a pup around the same age as Luna, it's a Great Dane; yes quite a lot bigger.

16th

Sorting out a few cupboards, you know things you keep just in case then weeks later get rid of them. Chinese tubs which Paul thinks we should have loads of. We now have around ten just in case. The cupboards now look a lot better and you can see what we have got.

18th

A very wet night and a storm as well. Luna was awake every hour not sure if she knew I was in the front room or the storm upset her. I am going to sort out the knitting cupboard later to see what wool I have. I will soon start the Christmas gifts I am making for family.

19th

Pilates is back on again 21st not online, like during COVID and after but in the hall like it used to be. I had a choice of sit mostly down or what I used to do a long time ago on a mat. I have decided on the sit down one as later time and I think my body will cope better with this. I have a ten mile round trip on my bike hopefully. There is a bus but that means a half hour walk as it does not come down the high street. I hope my wrist will be ok so I can use my bike. Paul put two new tubes on it so it should go well, all downhill from here on.  I am looking forward to Pilates.

20th

During the night Luna somehow got upstairs to outside Andrews room, he is up two flights and she sat outside his door. She does not come down on her own, and needs to be carried. She must have cried but no one heard her, why she did not bark I do not know. I then probably would have heard her and every one else as well. She has a big bark for a little dog. I thought I had not heard her during the night and she was having a good one. I still woke up my self quite a few times. Luna is very tired and was upset earlier. I did not take her on the common, it rained a bit and she was just too tired and slept a lot of the day. Hopefully she will not go upstairs in the middle of the night again.

21st

I thought Luna would not sleep at night, but she did for four hours. For her this is good, when I heard her around six am, I got up and took her out on the grass, she had a wee. Luna then slept till nearly eight am. Good walk on the common, the mornings are beginning to get a bit colder now. Tried to keep Luna awake so if tired she would sleep better Did she no, less than last night. Awake three times then up at six thirty.

Going to Pilates or that was the plan, another flat tyre there must be something in the outer tyre causing this. Went into town instead to get Paul something for his Birthday next week.

22nd

Colder today 11C felt cold on the common too, I had my gloves on.We saw Mary and Rory, Mary said she was cold. Bit of knitting but wrist and fingers are painful today so not much got done.

23rd

Luna and I saw a friend that had not seen Luna at all. She thought Luna was lovely. She has an cocker-poo, and a German shepherd dog, she is old now and does not get on the common as much and was at home. Bit of a rest day for me. I say that but did over an hour and half ironing. Sheets and mostly Paul's things I stopped for rests so my wrists did not get sore. Bit more knitting of  the yoke of mint green baby cardigan I am making. Seems I have bean making this for ages.

Went to get a few things for the bathroom from Wickes so Luna was left on her own for a while. When  we got back she had jumped the board across the dining room door twenty six inches high. She is only twelve inches high herself.

Indian for tea/super. Andrew and I went to pick it up as only down the road. We saved around five pound that way.

26th

Happy Birthday Paul- He liked the things I got him and other things he got. Went to get my tablets on my bike to test it, all seems fine but the brakes need more adjustment. My Sister in law came round to see Paul to give him a card and presents. She gave me a big bar of chocolate for making the little jackets for her to give to Fiona and Lliam for baby Willow.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round for tea, a Chinese, not from our local one as its closed today. Andrew and I did not think this was as good as very bland. Tonight I am going up to bed as staying down  is not doing a lot of good as I think Luna wants to be in there with me. I did think it helped to start with as she did not get stressed before I heard her.

27th

Cleaning up a bit but Paul is doing things in the bathroom and making a mess so not worth doing too much. Football match tonight - West ham V Lincoln. Paul is going so is Tracy who supports West Ham. A man got her a ticket right at the front so she was well pleased. West ham won 1-0 but Lincoln had a goal disallowed, offside. Both Paul and Tracy said Lincoln had the better match and should have won.

28th

Pilates try again as my electric bike should be ok now. I biked along on the flat then started to go up hill, a big hill. Power seemed to be judder and no speed. First thought was the battery as I have two of them. This was the older one but it had never let me down before. I got off and decided to walk up the hill pushing my bike but it was too much. I thought if I could just get up the hill I could get to Pilates as flat from there on. No- too much for me as mine is a very heavy bike to push, not to ride though. I turned round and went back home. I was so disappointed another day missed. Paul sent Jo a message and I will ring her later.

After I had cooled off, as I was so hot my back was wet. I looked at my bike and could hardly be live what I saw another flat tyre. I felt around the outside of the tyre and found a bit of glass. Could this be what has caused all the problems? As for the loss of power this could have bean the tyre going down and making it harder for the motor to get grip fine on the flat but too much on a big hill. After Paul has looked again I will try it on the hill. I just hope it's not the electrics. I hope Jo understands and still keeps my place. Try again next week.

30th

A good night with Luna two thirty till seven ish. Paul has mended the puncture so hopefully that's all it is.

We got a message today from sister in law Bev that Lliam my Nephew had bean burnt with hot tar while working. Not sure how bad yet, he could need skin grafts. He has bean transferred to Queen Medical Nottingham from Lincoln County hospital. I will update when I know.

Well not a lot to say this month Luna hopefully is getting better at nights. The rest of the time she is mostly good. She enjoys the walks we have on the common and is meeting lots of new friends.

Hope things are good with you all all the best love Gill.

August.

August  1st

Andy, our neighbour's housefront is getting done today.  New coating and painted up.  Lee from next door is doing it for him. It was all booked to do last year but, he got let down. Andy paid the money then, but the person did not do the work. Currently going through the court.  All the old coating off and cleaned up, a lot of dust but at least he is not there. Andy is staying with his parents for a few weeks while his leg heals a bit. He is not able to put weight on his foot at all. Around two week's time, he will get a boot fitted so he can walk.

I am feeding his cat Smudge he is missing Andy a lot. I give a few cuddles and attention but that's not the same as Andy's love. A lady who lives down the street is going around to give him cuddles. All he wants when I go around is his food. Also, Andy's parents are going around as well.

2nd

Today would have bean Summer's 13th Birthday. Andrew and I used to joke that when Summer got to being a teenager she would be a rebel as she has bean such a perfect dog. Very sadly we did not get the chance to see.

Luna has not had a long night's sleep since the 24th/25th of last month.  The last few days have bean wet so, I have to wipe Luna's paws when she comes in, that is if she does not run off before I get to her she is very fast. At least she is house-trained now, so long as someone sees her go to the door. When it's open she will just go out herself. If only she would sleep at night. While I was at the front door she ran straight past me and got onto the street enjoying every minute. I shouted to Lee who is doing Andy's house and he got her for me. She can run very fast and loves you to chase her. Lee grabbed her and all was well Luna is now safe inside. When the doorbell went she was in the garden. I did not see her run up to me at the front door.

Lack of sleep and pain a lot from my arm plus the RSD pain as well is getting to me and wearing me down. The wet weather is not good either as every time Luna comes in, I need to dry her. She thinks this is a game. Often I can not dry her much before she runs off. This is meant to be Summer as well. Last year it was so hot 40/41C, too hot for just about everyone. Things will get better but at the moment it is very hard. I think you forget how hard an active puppy can be. Summer was very laid back from an early age so much different from this little Lunatic.

4th

The last two nights have not bean good with Luna sleeping or should I say lack of sleep. I thought the CBD oil was helping but not too sure. She is definitely more relaxed with it and not so crazy. She is one of those dogs that do not need much sleep, as right from eight weeks old she did not sleep much, even during the day.

6th

I have decided to sleep on the settee in the front room for a few nights, so I can just reassure Luna through the door without having to go into the dining room where she sleeps. I know the vets can give her something, but it's a very last resort. I have been given a few different sleeping aids over the years. Some had bad side effects some just did nothing apart from extra pain and made me feel very groggery.

7th

I think my sleeping on the settee sort of worked she slept from 2:45 to 7am. with just a bit of talking too through the door.

B12 today this hardly hurt a bit, not even the afterpain I usually get. I was pleased as I am going into town to get my Brother a Birthday present for the 10th this Thursday. The town was very busy and a lot of children were in town as they were off school for summer. I got David a summer jumper and a sweat-type top. A few other bits then home. Luna has some flea and worming stuff coming through the post plus a chew toy.

8th

Not too bad a night I was very tired when I went to bed. Luna was as well. I had to take her out for a wee early morning before it was light. She settled after again to sleep a bit more.  I was very pleased about this as we both got more rest.

Later Lindsay, Jammie-Lee, and Tommy-Lee came around. I have seen Tommy-Lee for quite a long time. My friend Debbie came for a cup of coffee later. Jammie-Lee was not too happy as she was not getting the attention she wanted. I told her that she is bigger now, nearly eleven years old, and should be able to amuse herself for a while. She knew Debbie was coming round to see me. Later my friend John came to see Paul and me. Not seen John for quite a while. He is a busy chap. Always good to see him.

9th

A fair night with Luna. Not sure if she knows I am just a few yards away from her or not. Tried a bit more knitting but it hurts too much. I am getting really bored now.  Not long till the plaster is off. Even then I will not be able to do much as my wrist will be sore and stiff.

10th

Happy Birthday David hope you have a good day, he is sixty-five today my youngest Brother. We are going tonight to see him and Bev. Bev has asked me to bring the cardigans I knitted last year. Her youngest son Lliam, and wife Fiona are just about due to have their first baby. I took all I had knitted so far, so she has a good choice. Bev gave her them later after we had gone. She loved them all Bev said when she phoned me the next day. On the way we stopped at Lindsay's new house. I had not bean there for today. It's a nice house and when done up will be even better.

David liked his presents and card. While there, all his other children called to see him so I got to see all my Nephews on the same day. Garry lives there and we saw him before he went to work. Ricky his oldest son, and of course, Lliam and his wife Fiona called in. Andrew was in charge of Luna or was it the other way round?

Andy's cat is doing well but misses Andy of course. Andy gets a walking boot hopefully fitted on Tuesday so should be better for him as the crutches have not really worked for him.

11th

Not the best of nights with Luna she woke many times. My wrist hurts a lot and feels very sore where the plaster has rubbed on each side. I have bean sorting my patterns to make some more baby cardigans for Fiona and Lliam when I am able to. With her liking the blue one I am going to make her another little one in a pale blue, this one is 4ply wool. Hopefully be able to knit properly soon.

16th

The last few nights Luna has settled better so a bit more sleep for me. Keep it up Luna then things will be better all around.

Grantham Hospital today to take off the plaster. Going all the way there is around an hour of travelling when we have everything in Lincoln. Got the plaster off, quite red and sore where it has rubbed. The doctor who travels from Lincoln every day said it looked good. Quite swollen, he said that will calm down with exercise and use. I am to get some physio in Lincoln as well. Quite shocked about that.  I will need to wear a support for a while if I feel it helps, not all the time though, and to exercise it as well as from the sheet I have bean given. This support feels a lot better than the first one I had. I am having a bath later so will be able to put my arm in the water first time in four weeks. I had my first support on for two weeks then the plaster for four weeks. My wrist hurts a lot and is still swollen. I enjoyed my bath which was lovely. My wrist hurts a lot more on the other side not where it was broken. I still need help getting out of the bath.

17th

Was going to have a peaceful day but no, Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came around. Their dog Suey had her last journey and went to sleep for good. She was sixteen and was well-loved by all who knew her. Rest in peace Suey.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee stayed for tea as did Tracy who came around after work. Paul cooked it all, sausages plus tatties and veg, with beans from our garden. I got a phone call to say I have an appointment for physio on 30th August so that will be good. My wrist is quite painful today and hurts when I move it.

18th

Luna is a bit hit-and-miss with her sleeping more miss I think than hit. So not a lot of sleeping going on. my wrist is painful today which does not help.

Lindsay got a puppy for Jamie-Lee a collie type, quite cute, they have called her Bonnie.

I got an appointment for my eyes at Pilgrim Hospital at Boston around an hour away. My optician was not happy with my last eye check-up What is wrong with Lincoln? Again as far as I know most things other hospitals have got Lincoln have too, obviously not the specialty ones of course like Nottingham for Newolgery. At least my physio is at Lincoln next week.

21st

It would have bean my Brother's Birthday, and even though it's bean forty nine years I think about him a lot. What would he have done with his life where would he be if he had not had that accident on his bike when he was seventeen.

I cleaned up today I do the bathroom and kitchen, and Paul did the rest. My wrist hurts a lot and keeps going into spasms all the way up to the elbow. Not where it was broken, but the other side. At least I have physio next week so he will be able to tell me if this is normal or not. I have another bruise come up on my arm not sure how I got it though it's the size of a small marble. The big bruise I have on the same arm I hurt when it got trapped in the door handle is beginning to heal now so not as bad.

22nd

Andy came home to stay after three weeks away mostly with his parents plus a few days in hospital. He was most grateful to his Mum and Dad for all they had done for him. I was at his house feeding Smudge when he came in, eager to try the stairs. He went up and down with no problem. I said to him Don't fall as I will be squashed, he laughed he is not a little chap. Smudge was very pleased to see him purring like mad, as was Andy to see him. When he came across later Andrew heard him and brought out a tub of ice cream for him so he did not have to run for the van. He laughed and said he has had a lot of jokes like that even in the hospital. Pleased you are home Andy and a new house front as well.

23rd

Eye appointment today at the Pilgrim Hospital Boston. Andrew is looking after Luna. Hopefully, she will be good for him. The appointment went well with various tests done on my eyes. All ok saw the Doctor who was called Doctor Guppa. I have seen him before probably when I damaged my eye after the seizures on holiday. He said they tested me or GLAUCOMA, all clear just very dry eyes which I knew about. I was pleased everything was fine. Andrew said Luna was good but very active. I thought she would sleep a bit as not much last night.

24th

Not a good night again I am at a loss for what to do, she simply does not need much sleep at all night or day. CBD oil does not seem to work very much so do I keep trying with a different dose? I think I am going to ring the vet for advice as she is nearly five months old now so she should be more settled surely. Rang them but not much help.

Hair cut later I really need one as well. Luna next week good luck Maxine same groomer that cut Summer. She is looking forward to meeting Luna. Lliam and Fiona's baby girl has bean born. She is to be called Meadow, I like the name, both are doing well.

25th

Lindsay's pup Bonnie is doing well and likes the pen that Lindsay has borrowed from us. Unlike Luna who hated it and escaped on the first night. Lindsay does have Bonnie in her bedroom though. So I wonder if it would it be different if she was not with her all night. I am hoping to take Luna out later on the common. She loves it and can hardly believe that she has all this to play on. She walks very well on the lead and comes back when called, well mostly, she is still very young and at times unpredictable.

26th

Today would have bean my mum's Birthday, and even though it's been nineteen years I still miss her very much. Later on for tea/supper, Andrew, Paul, and I had an Indian takeaway. Andrew and I usually share a few veggie dishes. Though I'm not a vegetarian, I do not eat a lot of meat. My IBS likes it better that way.

27th

Took Luna out on the common, and met a man with his two dogs that I have known since Summer was a pup as his are the same age. He looked at me strangely. He did not know about Summer at all, and I told him what happened. He was very sorry as he loved her as well as all who knew her did. He also said Luna was a lovely dog. When we got back from the common Luna had her breakfast and then a short sleep. Soon she was ready to go again.

28th

Mary and Rory dog came round to see us. Rory I think was more settled than the last visits. He had bean looking for Summer as he loved her very much. Both he and Luna had a sleep under the table.

Later, Lindsay, Jay-Jay, Molly, Cory, and Jamie-Lee came around. Cory is three months old now and a big boy.

Me and Cory.

Molly Jay-Jay and Cory.

Jay-Jay and Cory.

Paul and Cory.

Most of them had dinner here.  Tracy called in as well later. A busy day as the last of them did not go till around five or six pm. We were meant to be going to see Pam as it was her Birthday. I rang Malcolm (her husband) up and he said to come tomorrow instead. Pam has recently in hospital and was tired now so tomorrow it is.

29th

Took Luna out on the common again, Hopefully, this will be the everyday normal now. We saw Debbie with Bella and later with Kipling. She has three dogs and has three separate walks every day. Later we saw Pam and Malcum both well. Pam is looking well despite having SEPSIS. Malcolm said this was not really made very plain to him. Did she have it or not this depended on who you spoke to. They spent twenty-three hours in A.E. before they had a bed ready for her. Malcolm said the Doctors said it was SEPSIS so why did they not put her on a drip straight away. All around the department posters say SEPSIS KILLS. Lincoln Hospital is so bad; everywhere is now. Anyway, she is doing good now.

30th

Luna's hair cut, she was very good, and somehow managed to get the neck cord around her belly twice. Maxine was very impressed with her. Luna did not like the clippers so Maxine did not use them, just scissors. I think she looks more younger puppy-like now and so sweet. Now you can see her eyes once more and she looks so cheeky.

She is in need of a haircut- before Maxine cut her, very fluffy.

After Maxine transformed her you can see her face now.

Physio at Lincoln I was told everything that is happening to my wrist is ok. She thinks the RSD has got its evil claws into it and that's why there is so much pain. Exercise and using it should make it more normal. I do not have to go back at all. Anything I am worried about see my own Doctor. Paul dropped me off and I walked back doing a bit of shopping in town.  I got Luna a new lead. Andrew made her collar and I used an old lead because I thought she would chew it. Luna was good while I was away. I need to leave her completely on her own as part of her growing up.

Luna waiting in the passageway for me to come home.

Looking out the front room window to see if I am coming.

The end of September already - this year seems to be going very fast. Things are not too bad not too good either. I broke my wrist, still not as bad as the last time when I broke the other one. I had to have that pinned and spent three nights in hospital. Luna is getting better I think, just need to get her sleeping more at night. Everyday things fine and the weather is not too hot like last year. All in all not a bad month.

All the best to everyone Love Gill.

July.

 July 3rd

A cooler day 15C. Luna is tired, she hurt her foot last night and yelped out. Andrew had a look. and thinks she pulled it a bit. She soon recovered and was back to her crazy self.

Later on, I had an accident, I tripped over the spider base of the computer chair and fell with my left hand flat against the cupboard. I cut my leg and hit my head. I could feel a lump coming up already. My wrist hurt a lot but probably not done too much damage. This was around seven o'clock, I thought I would wait a bit and see how it goes. Well after nearly two hours the pain was getting worse and I was thinking I had done some damage to my wrist as it was swelling up. Up to A and E around nine, and probably a long wait. To start with it looked promising as I had bean X rayed by half nine. That's where it stopped. Paul and I were there five hours, I think this is the longest we have sat together for ages. st. Yes, it was broken just below the thumb and is now very painful. They put on a splint for now.

With a splint on my left wrist. Luna helping with the blog dairy.

The RSD had kicked in and was causing me pain just about everywhere. We got back from the hospital around five AM. I had taken a lot of extra tablets with little effect. Luna was pleased to see me. Andrew had got her in the shed and she was asleep and happy. She saw me and soon woke up. Licks and kisses all around. Thank you for looking after me Andrew.

I have moved her basket out of the pen near the TV. Maybe she will settle better tonight. Radio on as well, Radio 1 of course.

4th

A better night with Luna. I did not sleep too much though, a lot of pain around my wrist and shoulder. The bump on my head is quite big as well. I am unable to use my left arm at all. the fingers are swollen and sore there is a lot of bruising around the wrist and fingers. I need help dressing myself too. not able to do much either.

6th

Mary and her dog Rory came to see us. Rory was very gentle with her and they both drank out the same dish. Rory still looks for Summer and does not understand where she has gone. I gave him a cuddle and said I miss her too. I think he and Luna will be friends as well. We will never forget Summer she was a beautiful dog loved by everyone who knew her and still is. The pen for Luna has now bean put away.

Andrew and I took Luna out for her first walk. She was scared of the traffic and started shaking, so Andrew carried her across the road. We went to the park near the common once there Andrew put her down and she had a good sniff around and a wee. I think she enjoyed it, plenty more walks to come and there's the common to explore Luna.

Luna did not settle at bedtime so I played with her a bit more. She got in her basket and settled down. I always wait a while then go to bed. Tonight she was not happy, I came down to her a few times and settled her again. I decided to leave her a bit to see if she would settle herself. I heard a crash and a yelp. Went down again, I think she had tried to climb the board that stop her from getting out of the room and she fell. I gave her a cuddle then she got back in her basket and this time settled. My pain levels are very high and I have a nerve rash on my shoulders. Ah well, better tomorrow.

7th

Quite a lot of pain today with a lot of bruising to my fingers and wrist all yellow and swollen, very painful. I can take the splint off as it gets very hot. I do not think the splint helps with the pain at all, in fact, makes it worse. I will be going back to the hospital at some point to access my wrist. I have a storm headache and hurt a lot today. I  got an appointment later in the post for my wrist on the 14th.

Lindsay and Jammie-Lee came round, they had bean to see a house that soon they could be living in. The house is not where Lindsay would have liked it. She said the house is big with a good garden back and front. Suey will be pleased as at the moment, Lindsay carries her up two flights of stairs to the flat where they live.  I think when they get used to it and make new friends and she will be fine. She is only a few miles away up the hill. Jay-Jay also came around he likes the house too and said it would be lovely for Suey dog.

8th

A storm this morning but it soon passed. Still a lot of extra RSD pain. Paul cleaning up today. I can clean and wipe with one hand. I did the bathroom and kitchen. Not easy but I did it last time when I broke my right wrist.

9th

Planted the rest of the tomatoes in the garden, there is going to be rain soon so they will get bedded in. This is not easy with one hand but I managed it. Seeded some carrots again as the last two batches have not come up. There were near the rhubarb last time so that might have something to do with it. Hopefully, they will come up after a bit of rain ad sun. Paul did gammon plus tatties (potatoes) and veg plus homegrown broad beans by Andrew they were very nice.

10th

Going into town today to get Lindsay something for her Birthday. I did quite well mostly clothes plus a pair of trainers. When I got back Luna did not come to the door as usual or bark if she is not able to get to the door. (board across to stop her) Paul said she was asleep but he thought she was not too well. When she saw me she just lifted up her head and a slight wag of her tail. When she woke up properly I took her out for a wee, she did not do one though and was a bit wobbly on her feet. Back in her basket and sleep again a bit strange but she did not settle well last night. When she woke again her head was floppy, her legs in spasms and she could not stand. Her eyes were rolling and she did not seem to know where she was. Paul rang the vet and they said to take her straight to Market Razen vets hospital.

We were very worried about her, Andrew sat in the back with me with Luna on his knee, the vet we saw was lovely. She rang through the tests they were going to do, just like Summers I broke down were we going to lose Luna too? We had to leave her there and was rushed through to have a drip put in. They thought she had ingested something but were not really sure. The bill was going to be over eight hundred pounds. On our first visit to the vets for her injection we took up the free insurance for a month. This ends Friday 14th, so all we had to pay was one hundred pounds. The vet said they would ring us if any change or anything to tell us. No one rang us overnight so was this good news?

11th

Paul phoned the vet mid-morning and she was alright. The vet said the blood tests and scans showed up nothing so she thought she had eaten something that made her ill. The vet said they would bring her back to the Lincoln vet so we could pick her up from there. This was very nice of them as the Market Rasen hospital is a half hour away. When we all went to pick her up the reception desk said oh not Luna they wanted to keep her as she is so lovely. When the nurse brought her out she was just about her usual self. How relieved were we? She just looked like she was yesterday morning eyes bright legs going all over the place and kisses all around. I was so happy and relieved. Once home she had a wee and a sleep. So good she was home I really did not think we would not be doing that.

12th

Happy Birthday, Lindsay, hope you have a good day see you tomorrow.

Luna is just about back to normal but tired. Just like the one I have on my left wrist, she's got a bandage on her left front leg from where her drip was inserted.

She seems to be recovering fine...

She loves to lay on her back when asleep.

My wrist hurts a lot today I think the support I have on is not good for it. I go on Friday for a check up so maybe they will put something else on. I am quite bored as not able to knit or crochet. I have tried but it hurts too much.

13th

I was up early as Paul was at the hospital volunteering I had bean awake a lot. Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round and Lindsay had her presents. They stayed for tea as usual. Jay-Jay came around as well he is having trouble with his motorbike. Later Luna did not settle well at bedtime. She might still feel unwell.

14th

Hospital today, about my wrist, the Doctor said we need to put it in plaster. I was able to choose my colour, I chose red, but after I thought of the Lincoln City football team colour. I do not support them but I think Paul was pleased as he does. After the plaster was on my arm hurt a lot. Not much sleep tonight either a lot of pain in both arms, RSD was having its fun with me.

Luna did not know what to make of the plaster and tried to chew it.

15th

Around eight o clock I heard Paul talking to someone, it was Luna she had come upstairs to get us up. The little monkey Paul got up and took her down. I think the door must have come open and she sneaked up. Paul fixed it later so it did shut properly. Later Luna was sick not sure why but she did have a piece of bark and was chewing on it. We are all on full alert after Luna's hospital vet trip and scared but it's hard to watch her every minute.

Don't be fooled by this little face.

16th

I did not have to come down to Luna not really a long night as I went to bed at four-ish and Paul was up at around eight, so not a long night at all. Luna was sick again but fine after, a bit worrying though. When I take her out for a wee she is hard to see in the dark we have an outside light but there are loads of dark corners. Sometimes I lose her and she gives me the run around and wants me to chase her. Not a good game at three or four early morning. She nips upstairs if she gets the chance, I found her halfway up Andrew's stairs earlier today. Andrew is on the second flight so a long way for her to go. She is fine going up but comes down too fast so she can fall. I have said be for I do not want her going upstairs at all not safe for me.

17th

Luna had a better night only five hours but better than I have bean having. She does not like beaning on her own.

Radio 1 the radio station I listen to, is doing a game/challenge where all of their presenters/DJ's are hiding and it's up to Greg, one of the main DJs to find them. They can be anywhere and they will post clues on the internet. Throughout the week two of the DJS were found in Spain, one was in an Anne Summer shop in the UK, and Greg went in to find her. Another two were found in Amsterdam.

Lindsay got the keys to her house that the council have given her to rent. The place is not where she wanted to be but she has to take it. Paul has bean inside and said it will be a good house when decorated. There is a big garden so good for Suey dog who has bean carried up two flights of stairs to their flat for the last few months. On a good bus route and near a supermarket.

19th

Up around ten late for me, my wrist was so painful in the night and I did not sleep much. I am so bored, I still can not knit or crochet yet as turning my wrist is so painful. I think it's better in the plaster but it feels tight and still quite painful. At night time after tiring Luna out I told her bedtime and she went in her basket. I did not hear her crying so she must have settled and gone to sleep. I think I must have settled quick as well so tired.

20th

Up early as Paul volunteering at the hospital again just be for eight am. Luna was very pleased to see me and pounced on me straight away. I sat with her for a while with a cup of tea. Squidgy and Andy came round later both for a cup of tea/coffee. I now can do a few things easier, washing up with one hand without getting the plaster wet, putting things in the oven, and drying up some things. My right hand is not the best and can drop things at times. I am going to do one of my many puzzles at some point. Someone will have to carry the board though for me. I keep it under the settle in the front room.

21st

Only two of the DJS are still in hiding and have to be found by midday or Radio 1 goes off the air. Jordon North is one of the last two to be found in Spain. Now only Molly King to find. Apparently, she is in a boat somewhere close. At last, they have a positive lead on her, somewhere near the Isle of White where they are broadcasting from. Greg went to get on a boat with the harbour master Jenny, but red tape (regulations) and a ferry held him up.

Greg had to sign a paper for insurance purposes and had to wait for it. It also took him a surprisingly long time to put on a life jacket. Time was ticking by, and at last, they were off - only to be held up by a very large ferry, all they could was wait with the minutes ticking by. Charlie and Matt in the studio could see the boat. Greg and Jenny set off going the wrong way because that's the way boats had to go, a quick turn round further out, and they were off at a snail's pace because of restrictions near the harbour.

Further away from the harbour, they sped up but it was too late. Radio 1 went off the air for over five minutes, they had lost the game by around ten minutes. They were all gutted, after around five minutes the radio came back to life and they were back on, very deflated but they had Molly King (who used to be in the Saturday's pop group from 2207 to 2015). I think it was a good game and the DJS seemed to enjoy it, some more than others.

22nd

Rain 15C temperature - not cold though, but not Summer weather either. The continent is roasting at very high temperatures. We have rain for the next week at least. Luna does not really like the rain and does not want to go out to the toilet. She will have to get used to it as we have a lot of rain, especially in the winter.

23rd

Paul went out for his dinner today to try the restaurant where his group IA goes for their dinners on a regular basis. The restaurant has got new owners so they are trying it out to see if they still go there or somewhere else. This was going to be just me and Paul going then there were nine of us from IA. Just too many people and too much noise for me so I did not go.

Luna if you do not watch her and leave the door open will go up the stairs at lightning speed. I was speaking to Andrew through the intercom and she heard him, door open, and shot up the stairs even giving me a look through the banisters. When I got up there she was on Andrews's stairs waiting for him to come down. Come on miss downstairs you go. She can get up but not down. I carry her and she sits to wait for Andrew.

24th

Paul is out today helping Lindsay move her things to her new house. The house is hers now not a temporary one like the one she just left. The house needs a lot of decorating but that will get done bit by bit however now at least she has a house more suited to her family.

I have tried again to crochet again, but, the pain when I turn my wrist is too just much. Knitting is also a no-no. Luna came in after being outside in the rain. While I towelled her dry she twisted around and took my plastered arm with her. This caused a lot of pain that lasted a long time.

Luna is still not sleeping well at night, as soon as I leave her she barks and cries most nights. I have bean thinking about this a lot and decided to try CBD oil on her starting tonight. This will just relax her and hopefully, she will settle better. I am getting to the point where I will try anything as my sleep is getting less and less. Later I gave he a tiny bit of CDB oil, I dipped my fingers in the jar and let her lick them. She liked the taste, so I sat with her to see if there was any change. Yes, she was not as stressed and settled down and cuddled up next to me. I thought as soon as I leave her she will cry, No she did not and slept all night. Well from around three AM to about eight AM. This was a lot better than the last few weeks was it a fluke? She was very tired, wait and see, only time will tell. Paul usually gets up first to see her, Sometimes she wakes us up, and sometimes Paul wakes her up.

A dry day, washing out what I did last night. Paul puts the washing as I can not. I can get it in though. My arm is less painful after it got twisted yesterday while drying Luna's. My fingers and thumb are swollen. Luna had bean on the garden, came in with mucky feet, and before I could dry her she jumped up on my chair, that has a white blanket on it. Also, my t-shirt was covered in paw prints again a white one. She is very fluffy and her paws get coved in the muck and wet. Ok if I get to her at the door, and can dry her paws but we usually have the back door open most of the time when warm enough so she comes in and out as she wants. Night time did the same as last night with the CBD and she settled again. Hopefully, this is it and I can get a few hours of sleep. Most of you will know I do not sleep much as I have insomnia. It can be very hard up and down the stairs every few minutes so hopefully the CBD is the answer.

A rare day out today well, a few hours in the afternoon to Jenny's house. Today is her Birthday, Happy Birthday Jenny. Had a nice chat and even an eclair cake with our cup of tea. I have not bean to Jennys for a long time. After Summer passed away, I felt like I could not go anywhere outside the house even into town. I still feel a bit like that as well. The afternoon was lovely Jenny, thank you. She also liked your presents of chocolates and a dove shower set.

Paul Volunteering at the hospital so an early start up at eight AM. Luna slept till Paul got up, around five hours, so not too bad. Very humid today 89%, my head feels like it's going to explode,  Andrew feels the same way. Not really that hot but oh so heavy and sticky.

Another humid day. Washing out only one load of whites today. Dried well and did not rain like the weatherman said. In fact, it was quite a nice day with a lot of sunshine. Luna had a good night, four to five hours, so we both feel refreshed. Looks like the CBD oil is working it has not affected her stomach either like giving her the runs. Paul bought me some flowers when he went shopping. Thank you very much.

Flowers from Paul.

My friend Angela came to see us, I have not seen her for quite a while, she bought me some roses, so kind of her. Thank you, Angela. Good to see her looking well. We did not eat till quite late but it did not matter at least to me anyway. A Chinese for me Paul and Andrew. Very nice it was too.

Roses are lovely.

Wayne here today, my oldest son who lives in Halifax, and Kayleigh too his girlfriend. Today is Wayne's Birthday, hope you have a good day Wayne. He is here for a short visit. His Cat has not bean well so he does not want to leave him too long. They got here around one-ish. Paul did wraps for dinner, plus a few chips he just put everything on the table and everyone helped themselves. Lindsay and Jamie-Lee are here as well.

The day went too fast and soon it was time for Wayne and Kayleigh to go home. Paul is taking them to the train station at Newark where he picked them up from earlier. Just as they were going out the door, Andy from across the road stood there. He had run for the ice cream van and he thinks he might have snapped a tendon in his lower leg. He wanted Paul to take him to the hospital. He said he would when he takes Lindsay and Jamie-Lee home as it's not far from her house. He would be back in about an hour plus. Andy sat in my chair with his leg up eating his ice cream. He said the man gave him a bigger one because he had hurt his leg. Paul got back and took Andy to the hospital, and Lindsay and Jamie-Lee home. Andy said he would keep us updated when he sees someone probably in for a long wait.

31st

Andy has a partial tear of his Achilles heal and needs an operation today. I am looking after his cat smudge, feeding him, and a few cuddles too. All the best Andy hope it goes well.

My month has got better as it went on apart from my arm that is. Luna I think will sleep now but not much she is so active. Still seems a bit strange with another dog here. She will not replace Summer but helps with the healing. She is so different to Summer as well. Summer was one in a million as the vet said. So a hard act to follow.

All the very best to you where ever you are, very hot or not so hot in Uk. Love Gill.
