April.

April 1st

The trees are turning green- Spring is on its way. The days are getting lighter and warmer too.

Cleaning up down stairs today did not get finished till five fifteen, but I did get interrupted a lot. Still had tea to do as well.

2nd

Changed the bedding and washed it all. Dried well even got it all ironed later. A busy day for me, but that's nothing new.

4th

Went to see my friend who lost her son Alex (16) in January. She is doing quite well, better than I would I think. Later I did a bit more knitting.

In the afternoon I started the bedrooms cleaning, got some done, rest tomorrow. Very tired later, bean quite a busy few days. It was very windy overnight I could hear things   blowing  around in the street cans, rubbish. Even blew our garden chairs down to the bottom of the garden.

6th

Washing and general bits. The common has greened up and looks very Spring like. When a bit more green will take pictures.

My friend  Debbie Birthday, so I went round to see her. She liked everything I got her. Her dog Monty who usually growls at me was very friendly and let me stoke and fuss him. I said to Debbie next time he will probably growl at me tomorrow.

7th

B12 today it hurt a lot this time.

I did a bit more of the Lego puzzle, Andrew did quite a bit too, despite saying a few days ago that he could not hack doing it. He said you do it then break it up. I said it's an  achievement and I enjoy puzzles. When growing up at home we always had a puzzle on the go. We had quite a big table so when it was a meal time we just put the cloth on to eat.

I finally got my tablets today after three times going back and forth to the chemist. Good job its only at the end of the street. I only had one days  morphine left, I go into withdrawal if I do not take them on time. As you can imagine I was pleased.

A lot of pain behind my eyes for the last few days probably tiredness as only a few hours sleep for the last few nights. I know it's not my eyes that need testing as recently done.

8th

On the common with Luna throwing her ball near the the gate, when I looked up and thought I saw a dog. No it was a small deer, it just stood there looking at Luna and I. After a few moments it walked slowly past within a few feet from us. I said to it- no need to be frightened at all. The deer just walked slowly past until it was quite away from us, turned, looked, then disappeared.

Saw Monty, Debbie's dog who let me stroke him a  few days ago. Today he just sniffed my hand.

Started cleaning the crystal display cabinet, a scary time as they are so delicate and my hands are not the best. I got quite a bit done so I was pleased. I bought quite a few new crystals a few weeks back. I decide give the others a clean, it was worth the effort because they looked a lot shiner.

Chippy tea tonight not had that for ages curry and chips for me and Andrew. Fish and chips for Paul.

9th

Cleaning up today quite a nice day warm and sunny. Andrew and I took Luna for another walk on the common. The wind was a bit cold but it was ok, as we were walking so not stood still.

10th

Washing and general things today.

The rocket Artemis 11 that went around the moon has returned and splashed down in the sea safely with its crew of four.

Did a bit more of the display cabinet only two shelves to go of the eight now. Looking good.

11th

A very nice day, quite a bit colder too. Luna and I had hail stones while on the common. Pleased I put her coat on.

I finished off the display cabinet so very pleased, I did not break anything either even more pleased at that.

Andrew also finished off the Lego puzzle he was so proud of his achievement.

Alex's Lego puzzle.

12th

Windy and cold on the common. Cleaning again down stairs. Knitting later a cardigan for Heather, Poppy's Sister that I made around three years ago. I did not see them so just kept them. Time passed and now the cardigans are too small. So I said to there Mum Helen, I would make bigger ones and post this time. Something we were going to do last time, but she said she was coming this way a few times but it did not happen. There is also a blanket to send. I have made Poppy's cardigan, so when both done will put up pictures.

13th

The common looks lovely now.The cold wind has settled again and is quite warm.

Chick, and parents on the river.
One little chick.
A windy night blew most of the blossom away.

Fresh grass and dandelions for the horses.
Buttercups so yellow.
This tree was bare a few days ago.
Two more little chicks plus Mum.

4th

Sorting out cupboards today. I took the Izzy dolls to the post office. They are going to a lady that will make sure the children who need them them most will receive them. I hope they will bring a bit of comfort to the little children trapped in a war zone country.

I did a bit in the garden was going to plant the beans but rained quite heavy. At least it will wet the ground where they are going. I did a bit more knitting instead only the last sleeve to do now..

Very tired and drained I talk to the Doctor soon so maybe he will have an answer for me. I know I do not get much sleep about five hours on average a night. I doze of a bit while sat in my chair but its not a proper  sleep. Still got the pain behind my eyes.

15th

Got the beans and peas in the garden. Just got them in and covered up when a downpour started did not last long though. That will help them settle in. Rained in the night as well. Lindsay called round and stayed for tea, Jamie-Lee was with a friend close by. They were getting picked up at eight o'clock.

16th

Now the Lego puzzle is done, I have started another one. This is a knitting/crochet one. I think this one will be easier than the Lego one. It's one I got from a Charity shop as with many I have got. The trouble is bits can be missing not every one looks after their things. When finished if they are not complete I give them back to the Charity shop.

Later while using the microwave, it caught fire big flames leaping up inside. I shouted through to Paul, microwave on fire- quite calm I think he thought I was joking Paul unplugged it, and took it outside when it had cooled down. Looks like the end of that one. We do not use it that much, more for warming plates and reheating meals. Andrew uses for some of his meals. So we do need to get another one.

17th

There are Canadian geese on the common probably the same ones that had babies two years ago. Not only they are there, but they have brought friends two more pairs-- six in all. Hope they all have babies as the ones be for had around twelve.

19th

Changed all the bedding washed and all dried. Cleaned some of the bedrooms.

Andrew set to and finished the puzzle no bits missing so this one is a keeper. He said he is enjoying doing them.

Knitting puzzle.

20th

Finished off the bedrooms all done tidy and clean now. Vacuumed over down stairs as well.

Spoke to my Doctor I can order the medication  liquid morphine- back up for pain. Ibru 10% gel that I used to have a bit back, for my joints but not on repeat but that's ok with me as only used as backup when needed. I need to have a B12 blood test as well to check my levels.

21st

Cold wind on the common. Bit of a rest day for me today. Was knitting a shawl  but not going well so given it the push. I can knit something else at a later date.

Another walk on the common with Luna and Andrew. Luna was well tired later. She does not have her ball in the afternoon just a walk and run around. Very cold it was too a lot colder than this morning at around eight thirty ish.

My shoulder hurts a lot today could be from throwing the ball for her or just my many things playing up.

22nd

At the dentist with Andrew today. He has not bean for a while so he is a bit nervous what will they say to him. When we got in the place it was very hot, over powering hot. Then the fire alarm went off nobody moved no one told us what to do or where to go check point ???!!!. Andrew and I left and moved away from the building the alarm was so loud. We looked in a retro shop from the seventies clothes and memorabilia. The receptionist from the dentist was trying to stop the alarm  by doing something in a cupboard. He said afterwards he did not know what he was doing just trying to shut it up.

After around fifteen minutes the alarm stopped. Some one had opened the window and it was a cooler.

Andrew was not very impressed with the dentist- she was not listening to him. He was already stressed with heat of the place and the fire alarm. There was no fire and also no apology either. As I said there was no fire, but what if there had bean. No one seemed to know the fire drill.

Andrew needs some work done but not as much as I thought he would.

23rd

Paul's Mum funeral today at Nettleham church one o'clock and after wards at he the White Heart also Nettleham. Every thing went well and Paul did a lovely Eulogy in the church. That is the third death this year for us.

Poor Wayne and Kayleigh are coming from Halifax they missed the train because of traffic and delays. They got another train but no refund from the one they missed. Having to pay again as well. They are only here for the day so it will be an expensive one. On the way home there was no train from Leeds to Halifax so a taxi was needed. Poor Wayne and Kayleigh. They were hoping to stay a bit longer but the people that usually look after their cat is away so he is looking after their cats.instead.

24th

Paul is going away to Kenilworth for a few days will be back some time on Sunday. He left around dinner time and its a two hour round about journey.

I did a lot of ironing today around three hours in two sessions, bedding and Paul's things.

25th

Cleaning up down stairs today. Another lovely day sunshine and blue sky. Bit cold first off on the common though.  Soon warmed up our garden is due south facing and gets very warm.

Set all the seeds veg and flowers in seed trays hopefully they will come up. The beans went in the ground a few days ago.

Luna is a bit confused, as she is waiting in the hall way for Paul. He goes out a lot but this is the first time for a while he has stayed away night time.

Andrew and I had a  Chinese for tea/super, veg chow Mein, chips and curry sauce. Very good it was too.

 26th

Another lovely day quite warm to start with. Did some my Blog today a bit of knitting too. Bean a busy week so I needed a rest day.

Now both cardigans for Poppy 7/8 years  and Heather 3/4 years are finished. I do hope they will fit, but I think they will be a little big. No problem they will fit them soon. Helen might even send a picture of the girls wearing them.

Heather's cardigan.
Blanket I made for Heather when she was a newborn.
Poppies cardigan.

27th

Luna's Hair cut today last time she did not like it and pulled away a lot of the time. Where as this time she was very good and mostly did what Maxine asked her to do. I was very proud her.

She looks so sweet and a lot smaller too.

30th

My friend John came to see us after tea, good to see him. He has not bean here for a while. I have know John since I started Platies in May 18th 2009. He was in the same group. I asked him round for a cup of tea and we have remained friends ever since.

Well a bit better month- some very warm weather too. Hope things are good with you all. As usual all the very best to you all. Love Gill.

March

March 2nd

A windy but sunny day. A good walk on the common with Luna. Well let's face it there is no such  thing as a bad walk. There are the not feeling the best ones, but even them are good as I am out in the fresh air playing with my little friend Luna.

Got back and after a bit of a rest and a cup of tea, I did the ironing, a lot today as bedding as well. Yes I iron the sheets. My body is very sensitive so any little creases will cause me pain and it does.

I feel tired today as not being going to bed very early around three am and getting up the next day anywhere from eight am onwards.

4th

Went into town to get some wool for two little cardigans I am going to make for my friends two little girls. (The wool lady was closed so back tomorrow.) I made these for her when the younger one Heather was born but I did not see her, so they outgrew them be for they even got them. Another try hopefully we can meet up soon if not I will have to post them.

I have now finished off the puzzle, I borrowed from a neighbour.

Eltham Palace.

5th

Got the wool this time so full steam ahead to make them, obviously bigger sizes. I have ordered some swarovski crystals  spending money that has bean saved up from Christmas and Birthdays. I spend very little money on myself so I thought new crystals why not.

7th

Wayne and Kayleigh here arrived around dinner time. We are having Chinese for tea so only a sandwich for dinner.

My throat is not good, very sore and tight voice very raspy. Head ache too especially when I bend forward. Molly, Jay-Jay plus Cory-James are here later as well. I do not think they will stop for tea though. Jamie-Lee and Lindsay might be here later.

9th

I got a phone call today to see the Doctor. No idea what for. Bit early for the blood tests I had last week. When I got there I asked why she wanted to see me. It's about the moles things- you have on your back and stomach. With having the cancer scare on my nose, the Doctor just wanted to check up on them. She asked me for my phone so she could take  pictures, I said I do not have it a phone with me, and it would be no good as not a smart phone. She seemed to have trouble grasping this. She asked again

I was told I needed ANTIBIOTICS as well, for my chest and throat. I said that usually I need more than the three days that are give to most people. I told her about the RSD and things just take longer to go. I got five days. What happened to a weeks worth?

I also asked her about my heart scan that I supposed to have every year bean three years now since the last one. Her answer--- You have no more time- I have other patient's to see. Come back next week.I had six minutes with her, and it was her that wasted the time going over things at least twice.

11th

Still coughing a lot, yuck stuff coming up. I head feels quite a bit better, but very hot and cold all the time.

Going to try cleaning up if I can helps to keep moving.Got it all done and yes I did cough a lot.

12th

I washed Luna's two favorite toys and her basket. A very windy day blowing round on the wash line. Luna did not like them being on the line at all. She kept going out and sitting under the line watching them spin round. At times she cried too. They were soon dry and she was happy again. Both look very clean now.

Fluffy and Shippy

I later had a nice hot bath to ease my muscle pain.

15th

Up a bit later than usual I think it was around nine am. Still not feeling the best, I would like to go and see my Mum (Crematorium) as its Mothers Day. Paul said he would drop me off with Luna and I would walk back across the common. I think its around tree mile round trip. If Luna gets tired I will carry her but I think she will be ok.  He is  going to see Mum as well. She is not well at the moment.

Later I cleaned out a few cupboards and tidied  them up. I cooked tea for Paul and I.

I got a mother's day card and present from Wayne my oldest son.

A happy mothers day wishes off Andrew, Lindsay said she would see me sometime next week.

16th

Another very wind day sunny too. Got a lot of ironing done one lot in the morning and one in the afternoon. I was ironing them as they dried from the line. They smelt so fresh and clean.

I still feel very drained but not coughing as much throat still sore and raspy.

17th

Cleaning upstairs today after putting out the washing, windy again. Got most of upstairs done the rest tomorrow. Sorted out another cupboard, most just need a tidy and a wipe of the selves. Quite warm today in the sun cold in the wind though.

18th

Finished off the bedrooms and stairs. Luna had two walks on the common as Andrew wanted a walk in the afternoon. She was full loonie mode running around with her ball. She was tired later and had a sleep in her basket. She was not the only one tired.Warm today got to 17C in the afternoon. A very pleasant day just right temperature.

19th

Cleaning down stairs today but did not started straight away, as had a rest first. Around four thirty when I finished. Luna was asking for another walk but I said sorry duckie I am too tired.

21th

Luna had a bath today as she had rolled in something and smelt a bit strange. She does not mind a bath at all. She jumped out a few times when she was a pup, but managed to stay in today. She loves the hairdryer. especially on her belly. I trimmed around her eyes as well. She needs a haircut very soon. I got a pair of clippers but she is not keen now. The first time I used them she was really good. Maxine usually has a bit of a battle with  her as well. It's not the same bit every time. To start with it was her face, then her feet. Changes every time.

23rd

Sewing up the little Izzy dolls I made. I got a big box and there was room for more. So I thought a few more fourteen in all. Hopefully this will fill the box. I will then get in touch with lady who is organizing this  and get them sent off. The Izzy dolls will go to the war children as comfort dolls.

All ready to go. Eighty two in all.

The new ones I made.

The first ones I made.

25th

Sad news today Paul's Mum passed away. Paul has gone to see his Dad.

27th

Luna's third Birthday. A birthday walk on the common bit of frost earlier as well.

Luna with her card and presents. A new harness and some treats.

She did not really need much.

Luna had an extra walk with Andrew and I. She was running around chasing birds and just about anything that moved. She had fun and after a sleep she was ready to play with her ball.

Having a good rest.

28th

A very windy day on the common we saw some of our friends.

I went into town today to get some wool for a shawl I am making. Luna does not like me going out without her and cries for a while.

29th

Very windy and so cold on the common I was quite pleased when we got back.

I went with Paul to see his Dad, not seen him on his own since his wife passed away.

31st

Mine and Paul's Wedding Anniversary today fifty one years.

Again another mixed month but at least I have got rid of my sore throat and infection thing. I know I suffered a lot as you with RSD will know that. Things just take longer to improve and get better. Well all the best to you all Love Gill.

February

 February 1st

I have now got a picture of Corey-James with Bluey and Bingo that I made last month.

 Corey-James with Bluey and Bingo.

Nice walk with Luna, not too cold either. Finishing off my January's Blog. Lots of pictures to put on this month.

Doing a bit in the garden as a lot of plants need cutting back so there will be new growth in the spring. Pulled up a few weeds as well. Looks better now and somehow bigger too.

Bit more of the Aran blanket. Just about all the blankets I have made in the past have bean in double knit wool. Aran is thicker, so the blanket soon grows. Not sure who will get it yet. I have two people in mind.

4th

Not too cold today. Cleaned up stairs took most of the day. I am knitting a hat for a friend Ursulas, Teddy. The first one I was not pleased with so I redoing it.

5th

Haircut for me, it had got so long, looks good now. Debbie who is my hairdresser loves Luna and kept cuddling her. Luna was ok with this of course.

I have finished off the hat for my friend Ursula she came round just as I was sewing on the bobble. She was pleased with it.

She added a scarf.

6th

B12 today and the dentist. Both went alright.

I have bean saying I am going to try running again as I think I could on a good or better days. We have a running shop on the high Street, not far from where I live. The  Lincolnshire runner. I know them most of them who work there as I used to run with two of them, Marcus and Kaoru. Originally it was run by Pete who has now retired. His son Keith took over. With Mark as the Manager. I took my past running shoes to see if they would be any good. I did not think so as they are old now. The mid soles breaks down and the shoes becomes stiff. Kaoru checked them over and said no good, falling apart from the inside out. Bought in 2009. I tried on a pair and they felt good, Paul is buying them for me, as its my Birthday on the thirteenth February. I used to run in Nikes but these are Saucony I have had these be for. I got ten pound discount as well. If it turns out I can not run. I have a good pair of shoes for the Summer.

9th

Cleaning down stairs today. My friend Lyn is here later. Just finished the kitchen and bathroom floors and she was here. I have known Lyn since 1979 when we were both having our first babies. We have kept in touch ever since.

10th

Bit of a rest day but still did the iroming. Headache today but I think that's the cold wind on the common. It has bean  bitter cold the last few days. I do wear a hat but my face gets cold at times and goes numb. Very tired today.

12th

My fried Debbie came round with lots of presents for my Birthday tomorrow.. She is very generous and buys me, I think too much. She says it's for what I do to help her when she needs someone. That's what friends do I said. I used to help her Mum as well. I have know Debbie since she was around sixteen and just left school.

My Brother and Sister in law also came round with some primulas for the garden. Plus another present as well.

A lovey Birthday and so many presents and cards. People were very generous. I am so tired now I hurt.

15th

I have finished off the Aran blankets I have bean knitting.

Very easy to do, but a bit heavy on my wrists to knit, made them very painful.

Paul cooked tea, the first time in ages. Steak, potatoes, peas, and sweetcorn. Very nice it was too.

16th

Today is a very hard sad day. The funeral of a young friend sixteen years old. The service was lovely so many people there, young and old. Relations, friends, and many young school buddies. Lots of tears flowed-- rest in peace mate "Forever young".

18th

A lovely sunny day but very cold wind good walk on the common. Bedroom cleaning today. On my own again as Paul out for his usual dinner. Worked hard and got them all done.

19th

My friend Ursula came round and gave me a beautiful red glass dish for a belated Birthday present. Very nice surprise as I did realise she knew it had bean my Birthday. I decided to give her the blanket I made as she was one of the two people to choose from. I think she will use it more than the other person. I can still make them one as well. I also gave her a big puzzle board, as I got another one from a charity shop a few weeks ago. She was very very happy with both.

20th

Cleaning up down stairs today hard going but I got it all done took until four thirty. Just about all in now but pleased it's all done. None to do for another day.

22nd

In the garden today and what a lovely day it is too. Wind cold but sheltered it's quite warm. Planted all my primulas they look very pretty and colourful.

All tidy now, I should have taken be for and after pictures.

After a few sunny days they will look better. The ground was very wet.

Tidied up and troweled over the soil to tidy it up and break up where the rain had caused puddles. I enjoy gardening a lot being outside in the sun and just making things look better. Spent quite a few hours outside and just about got it all done be for it got dark and cold. Looks good and tidy now.

Later I had a phone call to say a great friend had passed away. She has not had a good life lately. Very troubled, so sad but hopefully she is at peace now.

25th

Cleaning up down stairs today, cooked tea. Very tired seemed to have bean a busy week.

I bought a bed for the spare room it's a mid bed with plenty of storage underneath. I think the room will look a lot better and tider. Just need to put it back together when I get it hopefully Friday. Andy a friend is going to get it for me with my Daughter Lindsay.

26th

Took the bed and all the other stuff out the spare room, ready for the new bed. The old bed got damaged a while ago and Paul fixed it. Remember Wayne ??? There is a lot of charity things to go to the shop and some for recycling, also some to keep. Vacumed all round now its ready for the new bed.

27th

Bed here, Lindsay stopped and helped Paul with it and they soon had it all done, looks really good. Should have had one years ago. The amount of things you can hide and store under it.

28th

Getting the room back together, looks so nice and a lot tidier now. I will put up a picture at a later date.

Vacumed all up stairs to get rid of any bits, also down stairs. I am very tired now like I said it's bean a very busy week. Did not have to cook tea as Chinese tonight.

Bit of a mixed month but it can only get better I hope. I will miss my friend a lot and will think about her. Also my younger friend as well. I have bean very tired but just had my B12 so hopefully will feel better soon.

Luna- so tired after two walks.
