December.

December 1st

Good walk with Luna on the common, we managed to get back home be for the heavy rain started.

Paul is getting better, still coughing though, he got dressed today. Andrew is still not good but he smokes so that will not help him at all. At least both have improved a bit. So far I have bean ok but I did have a week when I felt quite ill in November around the 20th..

I did the ironing latter quite a bit today. Lindsay did some shopping for us I did say I could do it but I think she wanted to help us a bit. She is not feeling that well herself.

I published Novembers Blog.

2nd

In town to day I need the escape from the two bears (Paul and Andrew) I got wool for the things I am knitting for Christmas presents. Got Paul a few bits as well. Tired later so a sit down and rest was needed.

4th

I have started knitting an Aran jacket as a gift for Corey James, its quick, as thicker than double knit wool so should not take too long. I have finished the toy I was making all pictures later in the Blog.

I have told Andrew he needs to see a Doctor as I think he has a bad chest infection. Weather he will go that's up to him.

8th

Andrew has seen a Doctor, well a Nurse Practitioner. He was not happy about that either but that's all the appointments there were. He got ANTIBIOTICS I thought he would get muscle relaxants as well but did not. Just about every muscle he has got is going into severe spasms. Very painful  I have bean there m any times. Hopefully the ANTIBIOTICS will help him fast.Cleaning the bed rooms today got ours done plus the spare one, also both flights of stairs.  very wet day today.

9th

I finished off the upstairs so now all done. Tired and quite a bit of pain today going to rest now.

10th

At last my appointment to see Doctor Selinus my neurologist. He has changed a bit since I last saw him a bit bigger, older looking as well. Not sure when I last saw him but must be a least a year. He brought me up to date on the scan I had ages ago. Two protruding discs that are ok at the moment but need checking often to make sure they are not getting worse and pressing more on the nerves. He thinks a lot of the pain I get in my neck and head is from this and probably not FACIAL NEURALGIA which I have bean treated for the last five years, not sure I agree with him, probably a bit of both.. The medication is CARBAMAZEPINE, This works well for me  He offered me AMERTRIPALEANE but no way I am taking that. When I was first got RSD I was put on that by the Pain clinic I hated it and said I would not use it again. So they said either take the things we give you, or do not come back. I did not go back. Side effects-- drowsiness, sick feeling, tired all the time and after all that-- I did not think it it helped at all. Also I have just just normal wear and tear. I know I have ARTHRITIS in my neck and shoulders, have had for years but not bothered me too much so far. He is keeping me on his books for a year then if after that things are good, he will knock me off. If I need him again I just go through my own Doctors to get an appointment.

Called at a few Charity shop and got Corey-james a few bits to play with while here.

11th

B12 injection today all went well, a male Nurse did it today. The last bit always hurts, if not given slowly, it all hurts and will for a long time. Sometimes it's days be for it stops hurting.

Back home a bit more knitting toy this time, I keep swapping projects then it does not get boring that way

Andrew is improving a bit but no better with the spasms.

12th

Paul shopping to day he is a lot better now. Luna walk was a early one, and was pleased as rained heavy later.

14th

Paul and I went out to get a few Christmas presents we did quite well and got a few more gifts.

Very tired later bit more knitting as well. I ache a lot and spasms in my legs.

15th

Rung up the Doctors to see if Andrew can get more ANTIBIOTICS as he still coughing up a lot of gunk with blood still. The receptionist said she would ring back no call. So just try again tomorrow.

16th

After two more calls to them, the Doctors finally prescribed the ANTIBIOTICS. Hopefully these will clear it up the infection. I am in town so will pick them up on the way home. I did fifty minutes wait even though Paul had a message to say they were ready. A young lady with two children under one said she had bean waiting half an hour after being messaged her tablets were ready. Nearly an hour she waited to be told she was next. What I would like to know is, whos are all the bags hanging up on the side ???. I have never seen anyone go in and out with there medication without a long wait to get it. Hopefully Andrew will  now improve a bit.

18th

Cleaning down stairs today. I think Andrew has started to improve at last. Paul is just about back to his normal self.

19th

Luna had her hair cut so cute now- but she did not like her front paws done one little bit. She did not mind her face done. The last time she played up and it was hard for Maxcine to cut her face.

How cute is she now.

20th

Rest day today . Just doing a bit of knitting gloves this time. making more Christmas presents.

Paul at football watching not playing- Lincoln City, they won too.

Small Chinese for tea just Paul and I, not Andrew. We shared "A for one" chicken curry rice and battered chicken balls. I did not have the curry but got a pot of sauce instead. I am not keen of the meat curries at all, they can be very chewy.

21st

Going shopping for presents yes, we still have loads to get. I think this time we did very well. a few more done. When we got home Paul had lost the house key so we could not get in. I knocked next door and they let me through to see if Andrew was in the shed. Lucky he was and let us in.

22nd

Me in town again a few ideas from yesterday so hopefully I will finish off the presents today. I did great got loads too much as had to carry it all home heavy load. I got it all home but my shoulders both hurt. I was going to get the bus, everyone I saw going my way was packed with people standing. No way could I do that not even without the shopping. Any way all done now BIG CHEER.

23rd

A dull day but not too cold, a good walk on the common with Luna. She in season and giving off a sent to the boys. We had one dog after her, the man said she should not be out when she is like this. She still needs her walk and cheering up as well. She looks so sad and at times irritable too.

Made a few little sponge cakes not the best but they tasted ok.

24th

Cleaned up all down stairs while Paul went food shopping. Going to make the mince pies today with shop bought pastry, makes it a bit easier. They came out alright better than the little sponges. Iced the sponges and put a cherry on the top. I did not make any Christmas cakes this year Paul just bought one.

Andrew had a small Chinese for his tea/super. he said he enjoyed it. The seagulls will eat the rest tomorrow. I went to get it for him just across the road, and was lucky as they were shutting in five minutes.

All pictures of knitting I got done some did not get pictured but are very much the same as photos here.

For some reason I did not get a picture of the cardigan, mitts hat set I made for my friend Debbie. or the hat I made for her boyfriend Trevor. I will try to get one at a later date.

Tommy-Lee and Jay-Jay's fingerless mitts. Another pair the same as navy pair, but black, for my Brother.

Lindsay, Cory-James,Tommy-Lee, and Kira.

Christmas was a quiet day, just the three of us. Some lovely presents for every one more to come boxing day plus Waynes and Kayleigh's. Boxing day was not quiet at all everyone here apart from Wayne and Kayleigh. They are not well and will see us at a later date. I just about coped with all the extra noise. I was quite  pleased when they had all gone but so good to see every as a family. An enjoyable day still. So peaceful now and I am so tired. Rest now.

This will be the finish of the Decembers Blog but if anything to add, will go on January's Blog.

Not a bad year as they go what will the next bring me? All the best to you all have a great time.

Love and best wishes for the New Year love Gill.

November

 November 1st

Jay-Jay on the roof again, Molly and Cory-James here as well. Jay-Jay said there was not a lot more now to do. The scaffolding will come down on  Thursday.

Lots of fireworks going off on the common Paul, Jay-Jay, Molly and Cory-James plus Tommy-Lee and Kira are going to the Sincil Bank display at the Football club stadium tomorrow. I do not go as its a bit loud for me and the flashes are not good for causing seizures, plus a lot of people which creates a lot of noise. Andrew and I will go to the bridge down the cobbles where we went last year. Its just at the end of the street very close to stadium. Luna and I go down it every day to get to the common. Last year there were a lot of people there getting a free show.

2nd

Fireworks were very good, louder I think than last year. Andrew and I went to the bridge but there was only my friend Debbie there. Not too cold and not raining either. The display was very loud and towards the end got too loud for me. I stuck my fingers in my ears, the flashes were very bright I had to shut my eyes and hold on to the bridge rail. Still worth going to see and all free. Soon after they were all back from the paid show at the stadium and said it was very good. Cory loved it. He had on ear protectors as  this is the first time he has bean as still only two, three on May 16th. Everyone went home and left me in peace bit more knitting then television for a while till bed around three.

This was the only picture Paul got Something to do with his phone.
Paul,Molly,Cory-James, and Jay-Jay.
Tommy-Lee,Kira, and Paul.

3rd

Molly and Cory here, Jay-Jay on the roof with Tommy-Lee last few days boys. I have sorted out what the payment for the boys is and they were well pleased with the amount.

Moly was looking at my cabbage patch dolls that I have had for ages they are worth more than I thought they would be. She spent ages on the internet looking. I might sell them or keep them not sure but mostly leaning towards selling. They are just sat in the spare bedroom where they have bean since I got them. I know I did not pay much for them. Thank you Molly.

4th

Last but one day on the roof, the boys are doing the last bits tidying up and getting everything off the roof and scaffolding ready for Thursday. Tommy-Lee girlfriend Kira, here as well. She played a lot with Cory. Gave me a bit of a rest.

5th

Last day on the roof the Jay-Jay on his own up there. Tidying up the around the ladders and putting things away. Paul got chips for us all for dinner, but they were not the best, very dry tasteless. Cory had fish cake but did not really eat much I had a bit it tasted funny. I gave Luna a tiny bit, she was sick later. I know my stomach was not good. I threw the rest to the birds at the bottom  of the garden. There is what used to be a car park for the garage but now its a old people's home.

Well roof done- thank you very much boys, a good job done. All so to Paul for his input. This roof should out last us now and make the house sound.

View of cathedral in the distance.
Pipe going into chimney.
Paul and Jay-Jay.
Jay-Jay looking happy.

Working and just about done

Its not Lego bricks Nan.
No pictures of Tommy-Lee on the roof, as Paul did not take any of him. Jay-Jay might have some if any will add to at a later date.

Lindsay my Daughter and Granddaughter plus Tracy a friend are going to the O2 in London to see Benson Boom, Pop singer.Tracy is driving there and back. She is used to this as her parents live just outside London. This where they will be staying after the show returning tomorrow. Hope they all enjoy it.

6th

Scaffolding down now I swept up be for I went on the common. Paul out so I had to wait for the scaffold men to finish. I then swept up and went on the common with Luna. I did not get to Pilates this week again. Hopefully next week I will but its my friends Birthday.

Not feeling the best shooting pains in my head I am used to it being the left side as this happens a lot. This was the right side so a bit different. With RSD you never know what's going to change or happen day to day. There has bean a lot going on here so that does not help much. I just need to give the house a good clean now as the dust and muck from the roof seems to have got in every where.

7th

Cleaning up and wiping down just about every surface , took most of the day.

Later Jay-Jay, Molly and Cory-James called in they had bean in town. Jay-Jay had bean spending some of his money, wages from the roof. He bought him self things and present for Molly and Cory-James. They stayed a little while then headed for home.

Very tired and in a lot of pain today. lack of sleep does not help. I have INSOMEIA so I do not get many hours asleep. Worst four hours best, six hours. Mostly it's round about five hours a night, a lot of people comment I do not know how you do it? It's not like I have a choice though.

8th

Finished off the cleaning and vacuumed all the down stairs again. That's it all done now.

Put all the food shopping away as usual after Paul brought it home. Bit more knitting in the afternoon.

Lindsay, Jamie-Lee and Tracy enjoyed Benson Boon concert.

Chinese for tea as usual, I did not think the meal was as good as it usually is. Andrew said the same- stuff was not as hot as be for and the salt and pepper chips were not as they should be, just warm and just a few bits of peppers and onions. The curry we had was good.

9th

Bit cloudy today, rain to come later pm. I changed all the bedding and washed it all. Blowing nicely on the line sun out now and again.

Good walk on the common with Luna. She saw some of her friends and another new one called Arlo. She seemed to like very much, he was not bothered at all just wanted to run around.

I sewed up the cardigan I am making just the button band to do then finished.

10th

Meal out with Paul,Jay-Jay, Molly, Cory-James, Tommy-Lee and Kira a thank you to the boys for the work on the roof. The girls did not help but Molly brought Jay-Jay here most days. Kira was here too playing with Cory-James. So that helped in a different way. A playmate for him. I feel quite drained today pain most places.

Is my cake coming yet?
Molly.
Tommy-Lee and Kira.
Paul and I.
Tommy-Lee and Kira again-Pud to share.
Cory-James looking pleased with himself after putting all his chocolate cake in his mouth.
Look at my hands Dad.
This is the jacket I made Cory-James.
Jay-Jay and Cory-James.

The meal was good I had steak and chips which was very nice and I managed to cut my steak, sometimes I have to have help. Not too noisy either good all round pleased I went. Paul gave Andrew money to get a Taco Bell which he enjoys very much.

11th

Cleaning up again, not like the last time (7th) which took ages just a average clean. This still took a long time and I did not finish till four thirty. I think all the grit from the kitchen floor has gone now as it feels smooth. It has bean washed a lot so should be good now.

Paul warmed up his Chinese so I did not need to cook tea. I had soup and bread that was enough for me.

Very cold white legs and spasms from my knees down very painful. I get this a lot partly the RSD partly the RAINARDS..I get a lot of spasms in my legs during the night which wake me up a lot. I wear socks and most night take QUININE which helps a lot. My legs are fine when walking or dare I say it running. Sat they just feel very cold and look like they are dead.

12th

Wet to start with but we managed to dodge the rain for mine and Luna's walk on the common. We saw Debbie with Monty dog and later with Bella dog. We walked around together and chatted as we went along. Nice some day to have a friend to walk with, a human one that is.

Doing this blog on the laptop as well today trying to keep up with it so I do not have to do it all at once.

16th

Cleaned up down stairs today.  Talk of a frost tonight so Andrew and I covered up what plants we could.

I have started a toy for Cory-James but need some different colours when I next go into town from the wool lady.

17th

Sewing on a button bands (my friend cardigan) it took three attempts to get it right. I usually I pick up the stitches but this was a knit first then sew on pattern. I did try to do it picking up the stitches but was not sure how many to do. Got it done in the end and it looks good.

18th

Went to see my friends Lyn and Mo, who I have know since Wayne was born- 1979. We met in the hospital and have kept in touch ever since. I had a really good time there just chatting and catching up. It was Lyn's Birthday last week 13th. She loved the present I got her "Oil of Olay"gift set. She said how did you know I used it ? I said last year you mentioned it that you used it now and I thought next year I will get her that. I have used it myself since I was around fifteen- my Mum used it for the last few years she was here also.

20th

Frost and a bit of snow while Luna and I were on the common. Did not settle at all which was a shame, as I like snow..

I have a headache today and a sore throat going to take ECHINACEA as this helps me. Stop it from getting a hold.

22nd

Got very wet on the common, weather said rain after ten pm, it lied, Luna and I got soaked. On the common around nine. No more rain till the afternoon either. Never mind Luna had fun with her ball and running around. She did not care weather it was raining or not. She never does, so long as she is with me and running around in her favorite place, the common she is happy.

Ironing today bit of a clean up and tidy as well as well. I feel very tired today still headache, and sore throat.

23rd

Paul and I went out today and did a bit of shopping for home goods, towels, bin for kitchen little mat for Luna dish, that can be washed in the machine. Wanted mats for kitchen and back door but what we saw was not really right.

25th

Quite a busy day cleaning up and a bit of knitting too, making some mitts for a present. Paul has a cold, and I think Andrew is getting it too.

28th

Finished of the mitts I was making now just the ones for me to which I put on hold till I did some of the other things. I will put some pictures on when all done. As most Christmas presents so will be after then.

29th

Very wet start to the day. Luna and I saw some friends on the common, Mary and Rory dog, we have not seen them for ages both well. Rory was walking from his house to the common and back, not in the pushchair as usual. Mary said he has improved a lot. Still at times her Daughter will give her a lift to the common and back on not so good days. Rory has hip problems.

30th

Doing Blog bring it up to date. A lovely day sunshine and quite warm too- 7C at two PM.

To end the Blog a picture of Luna And my Granddaughter on her Birthday September 6th. these were on Paul's phone.

Opening presents from us.
Pretty Jamie-Lee in her School uniform.
Luna getting kisses.

Luna , when my Birthday Mum?

Well another Blog done. Nearly Christmas. Town packed I would say I need to go to get wool for toys as well. I hope you are all as well as you can be. All the very best Love Gill.

October

 October 1st

Not a good night for me, stomach pain (sick yesterday) and still a sick feeling, stomach swollen too. Resting today and knitting. I cooked tea, sausages plus usual veg tatties. I did not have the sausage as I know after a stomach upset it can cause my IBS to flare up.

2nd

I am not going to pilates today as still not feeling the best. I hope to clean upstairs or at least some of it. Its very windy with rain today. No doubt one of the named storms coming through.

5th

Ironing sheets and other bits. The storm that we have had the last few days indeed has a name, Amy.

Cooked tea pork steaks veg tatties Yorkshires. I had everything today and really enjoyed it too.  I feel quite a lot better today. Bath later which was nice as I ached a lot.

6th

Bit of a rest day not going to do much. Turned out to be a very sunny quite warm ( 20C). Very windy and dried all the washing. Just a bit of ironing to do but not much.

7th

Another dull start to the day, but by mid morning it was another lovely quite warm day again.

Cleaning down stairs today, my friend Jenny said I am always cleaning up some where. I probably am, but the back door is mostly open when warm enough and dust and bits blow in. It does not take long when I get going and I like it tidy and clean.

8th

A lovely start to the day, our walk was very nice, more like a Spring day than Autumn. We met a lot of friends on the common and Luna had a good play with them. We met a little sausage dog as well called Ruby we have met be for but not stopped and talked. Also a small squirrel ran across the grass. Luna did not see it, she was busy sniffing.

9th

Good walk on the common but a lot colder than the last few days, wind from the North now not the west. We met a lot of Luna friends again today.

We have scaffolding going up today back and front so the roof can be done plus the guttering as well. When Luna and I came back from the common the scaffolding was all up at the back. All the poles and boards  have to come through the house, as no way around the back. Everything came through the dining room window.

Bit of knitting the animals I started a while ago. Just two more to go, the racoon and the badger-from the woodland set. Pictures when done.

10th

I now have finished all the little woodlands animals now, I did alter the eyes on one of them. Bed late as I did not feel to good. Luna has bean very active so she had  mostly asleep since her tea.

The gang- they are very cute.

11th

Quite a nice start to the day, at times dull, but, when the sun came out it was warm. Rest day as I feel very tired and I hurt in most places through out my body. Andrew and I plus Luna had another walk on the common. We met a little  a little cockerpoo called Luca very lovely little dog he was. He was very much impressed with Luna but, she was not the slightest interest in him.

Paul, Lindsay, and Cherel, Lindsays  friend, are out for afternoon tea. I do not go as I can not eat  much cake and bread that they put on, as my IBS would go crazy. This will make my life HELL so I avoid them. At least they all enjoyed it. I would love to go out to these events but I suffer too much and pain builds up. I get enough of that without adding to it.

Chinese for tea very nice too it was I enjoyed it so did Paul and Andrew.

When I went to bed, it was cold and thick fog. You could not see the road beyond the garden and just about make out the trees and houses.

12th

Still thick fog and cold, We could not see very far at all it was just like a scary movie. Luna had her jacket on to keep her warm. This was her Puppy coat as well and still fits her. She now weighs 5.7 KG. this will be her full size now. Next Birthday 27th March she will be 3 years old.

Later Jay-Jay, Molly and Corey James came to see us. All doing well, Jay-Jay came to see what he needed to do for the roof and guttering. He dropped off his tools as well. Hopefully they will start the work on Friday.

13th

Wayne sent a message to say he was in A and E at Halifax where he lives after a trip/fall to check his ankle as he thinks it might be broke. Spent the night in A and E and it was indeed broke. They got home around five in the morning. Went there about nine pm ish the day be for. His ankle it in a boot and he needs to go back in a week or so to check it.

Kayleigh going to London for a conference meeting with her work, so she was very tired. Hopefully she will get a rest on the train.

14th

Bit of ironing done, but I feel very tired today. Paul out for his dinner, same tomorrow.

I rung Wayne and he said his ankle was not too painful if he takes it steady. Kayleigh doing ok in London she managed to get a good sleep so should be alert for the meeting.

16th

B12 injection today. The Nurse that has done it the last few times is really good, as she injects very slow so it does not hurt as much. Still painful though. All the appointment were around half to three quarters of an hour late. At least it's all done till next time around 11th of December. I know I was well ready for this injection as so tired and more pain than I usually have. The B12 is slow release- so towards the end of the eight weeks it runs out, or it does for me.

I hit my toe on the spare bed and I think it could be broken, as so painful. Swollen up and it's starting to bruise now, lucky it's on the top so I can walk ok.

17th

Jay-Jay, my Grandson is here to do the roof and the three chimney pots. Tommy-Lee his Brother will be here some days to help as well. Paul is also helping them. We will be having new guttering later as well.

I feel very tired today and quite a bit of pain as well. It's the type of pain that niggles and sort of bites you, and does not hold back, just keeps going. I think a lot of the cause is it's getting colder now. RSD does not like cold temperatures, or at least mine does not. Hopefully the B12 will kick in and help the tiredness and pain.

Jay-Jay left around four ish. He said he was pleased with what he had sorted and planned out what he was going to be doing.

19th

Changed the bedding today as was a lovely day when Luna and I was on the common. By early afternoon it was slinging it down. Not a lot done on the roof today and tomorrow does not look much better.

My toe is very bruised now, still very swollen and sore.

Quick tea today- beans on toast, and Paul and I  both really enjoyed it.

20th

I made this little doll with the intention of making a lot more, but it was very fliddy and I did not enjoy making it at all. Very thin wool 3-4 ply. I could make it in double knit (DK) wool as that would be a lot easier for me. May be at a later date I have quite a bit of knitting I want to get done for presents be for I take on more things.

Tiny little thing.

21st

The boys are on the roof and getting things done. Jay-Jay said his Brother Tommy-Lee, is doing a good job. The rain held off till they had finished for the day so they were pleased about that. Hopefully back tomorrow to do some more.

22nd

The boys back on the roof. I am cleaning up as best as I can. A lot of muck and dust about. Best to keep the windows and door shut.

Very tired today, my toe is quite a bit better than it was, bruising and swelling going down also not as painful now.

By the end of the day Jay-Jay said, him and Tommy-Lee had got a lot done today and were pleased with progress.

23rd

Wet to start with then sunny so another day on the roof.

Me-- I am doing the big basket of ironing, sheets, shirts plus a lot more. This took ages and I did a bit, then sat down a while then some more. I got it all done around an hour and half, tired now.

While busy Luna went to sleep on the chair arm in the sun. She looked so relaxed.

Luna fast asleep in the sun.

24th

Cold start to the day but sunny 6C. Cold on the common but Luna did not seem to mind she did have her coat on though.

The boys on the roof again going well for them. They are getting a lot done.

I am going into town to get Birthday presents for friends plus other bit. Luna needs some treats for her cong toy. I did well in town three bags full and got just about everything I wanted.

26th

Another cold day, ground frost in places too. 2-3C when Luna and I were on the common, cold north wind too.

The weather soon turned to rain so no work on the roof today. Moly came to get Jay-Jay for dinner at her Dads. He had made  shepherds pie. Molly said he does a lot of home cooking. Cory-James was playing with the play oven set and making his own dinner. I gave him the blue cardigan so he can get more wear out of it. I said to Molly it was part of his Christmas present.  She liked it very much. He looked good in it and it fitted him very well. Should have got a picture, so will ask Molly to send one.

Everybody gone now, time for a sit down and a bit of knitting. The all wool gloves I made for me were a bit big, so Paul is having them. I have enough wool to make some more a bit smaller.

27th

Happy Birthday Tracy. Hope you have a good day. Paul and I went to see her and gave her the presents and card. We got her two chocolate oranges and a Oil of Olay set which she like very much. Her parents were there from their home near London and were staying for a few days. Good to see them as bean ages since we last saw them. We stayed for a cup of tea of course.

The boys are on the roof and thing are going well. The weather managed to stay dry and only rained after they went home.

28th

Jay-Jay here on his own today, so Paul is helping him. Looks like its going to be a dry day, or is it? They had to get more roof tiles, as more cracked than Jay-Jay thought. I am doing my Blog and Luna is next to me laid on the floor and at times on my knee. We are in the up in the computer room today. Going well and getting it done.

29th

Rain over night but mostly dry by morning, just a bit of drizzle. Good walk with Luna on the common, most of this week we have sean no one walking their dogs. This happens sometimes and other days we see a lot of our friends. Depends what time you are on the common

I cleaned up all down stairs today, took most of the day. Very tired later and quite a bit of pain too. I took extra tablets that helped a bit but it never takes all the pain away. Its funny but with RSD, most people notice when there is less pain, than when its normal pain. You get used to it being there, but, this does not make it any easier. RSD is a very weird thing to have and takes a lot of understanding and patience. Cold weather is not a friend. I have no control over my body heat so that does not help this alone can cause horrible pain. I had RSD now for twenty two years, and still things crop up that amaze me and do not make sense at all.

Made a spaghetti bolognese for tea and it was very tasty. Bit of knitting later everything going well.

End of another month for this year. Not bean too bad had it moments but on the whole quite good. Roof is getting done and nearly at the end so that will be less foot traffic coming through the house, so less cleaning up for me..

Any way all the very best wishes to everyone and I hope you are having a few good days

Love and best wishes Gill.

September

 September 1st

Well September here again, the children will soon be back at school for the Autumn term.

Very windy today rain as well. Next doors cover from there patio set, kept trying to blow off. She had to tie it down, still it blew up and looked like it would blow away. Very windy when me and Luna went to bed.

Cleaned up all down stairs today nearly six o'clock when I finally got it all done. I had to keep having a rest. Still going dizzy at times and so tired.

Later I had forgotten to take my MORPHINE tablet and went into withdrawal hot sick feeling and very shaky. I took it and after around a hour I felt a bit better.

4th

Cleaning up again with having the back door open while its windy causes a lot of dust and bits blow in. I could shut the door but I like it open. Luna can come and go as she pleases so she does not have to ask me to let her out.

I have a wheel chair not used it in a while but I did use it constantly in the early days. Its always there if I need it. For the last few months its bean at Lindsay's (my Daughters) house borrowed for Tommy-Lee when he had his accident on his bike. He did not use it but it stayed there. Paul picked it up and I gave it a clean and pumped up the tyres, be for it was put away again ready for use when needed.

Paul and Lindsay went out for an afternoon tea a present from his Sister. I do not go as I have IBS and more than one sandwich and a cake I suffer a lot, pain and bloating. If I keep to a reasonable diet with processed foods and cakes limited, I am usually alright so its not worth me going at all. Lindsay enjoyed it very much so did Paul.

5th

Today I made a banana custard flan I made the pastry and Andrew made a proper egg custard. He said if I had gone to the trouble of making the rest, it deserved a proper custard not one made from  from a  birds custard powder tin.

Rested today as bean busy this week. I gave Luna a small football and she played in the garden with it. Luna made  so much noise playing and barking, running around until she was panting. She does not pant easily, so I said its time for a drink and rest. Even though she did not want to stop playing she came inside had a drink then went to sleep. A bit later she was playing again. She loves her new ball. Luna is a very playful pup and will keep her self amused playing with her now many toys.

6th

Luna was barking at the back door me thinking she just wanted to come in. She had actually found her ball from where I put it yesterday and wanted to play again. Cleaver girl Luna we played for a bit till she was tired again.

7th

Quite nice till we had a storm. I do like storms, so I was watching from the dinning room window. Lighting and thunder and lots of rain. We have not had a storm for ages. With Lincoln being in a dip we often miss the worst of the weather.

Bean cleaning up most of the day again, just got it done when the visitors arrived.

Paul is out for his dinner today with his IA lot. A three course meal so no cooking today, but if I did he would have some more. Two of our friends who were at the meal called in on there way home which is Great Yarmouth. Good to see them. I do not go to the meals now because its too noisy and too many people. I usually go to the Christmas one but struggle with that one as well as there are a usually lot  people there.

I do not go very far now at all. The common and a few trips into town when needed. Shops if busy I have to come out of. Noise is not good for me, nor bright lights, specially the flickering ones.

8th

Happy Birthday Jamie-Lee Thirteen  and Tommy-Lee nineteen. Jamie-Lee here after school, Gave Tommy-Lee's presents to Lindsay. Jamie loved all the things I gave her. She had a bit of money where Tommy-Lee has mostly money. Both of you have a lovely day.

10th

Very sharp pain in my lower left leg when I tried to get out of bed. The nights are getting colder and my legs suffer. Probably start taking the QUININE again.

Paul out for his dinner again plus yesterday as well. Me I did the ironing eight shirts and three pairs of trousers. This took well over an hour. Knitting a few more Izzy dolls and sewing them up.

I had my hair cut as well looks very nice as always- ten pound plus two pound tip. Coked tea for both of us. Andrew usually gets his own but he does sometimes join us. He is vegetarian, has bean since he was two. Now thirty seven.

11th

Pilates today at last, not bean for a while. Very cold on my bike and windy too. Good session enjoyed it a lot. Some things I have not done so new to me. I did forget Jo's book though. She had promised it to some one else thinking I would bring it today. I was a bit mad with my self as I had it in my hands last night thinking I must take that tomorrow.  On the way back the wind were very strong and  mostly head on. They blew me all over the road. Took me a bit to control my bike. Coming down Canwick hill I tested my brakes as in the past were not the best. Lindsay had altered them for me and they were perfect. Thank you Lindsay.

12th

Luna had her hair cut today she was better today as last time was not very keen. £30.00 plus a tip.

Maxine tied up her ears as they were getting in the way.

After her cut so cute.

14th

Very windy again rain later, hopefully not be for the washing has dried. On the very windy common we saw a lady I have not seen for ages. She used to rescue Westie dogs, mistreated a lot of time and give them a better home. She still has got one called Blue, who the first time I saw him he let me stroke him and fuss him. The lady was very surprised as he had only so far let her touch him. He had only bean with her a few days though. She did say he is still a bit choosey who he lets stroke him  even now. I think he recognized  me as his tail was wagging, he also said hello to Luna both of their tails wagging.

Next door has had trouble with there cover for the patio set again. The wind was blowing it almost away she sorted it out and it looked fine but will it still be there tomorrow?

15th

Patio cover still there, she was pleased. Windy and rain again nice on the common. Not really cold today.

Got my washing dry well nearly, just a few minutes in the dryer to finish it off. I could have put it out again but sun and rain today so its not worth it to get them possibly wetter when nearly dry. Ages since I used the dryer, clothes very soft now.

18th

Good walk on the common, raining a bit but we only got a bit wet Luna and I.

I went to pilates today but, forgot to charge up my bike so I took the charger with me and Jo let me charge it up inside the hall. All good now, for going home. I can ride it without pedal assisted but I know I will suffer later. A good session with Jo, we did some more of the Monks Tia chi. I really enjoy it a lot. I know some of the laddies find it a bit fast. On the way home my left foot kept going into spasm very painful. I think its because it has to keep still while on the pedal. My right pedal has a clip to it to keep my foot on it. l as with out would fall off. At one time I did have a clip on each of my pedal but this was awkward as when I stopped at lights, and such like. I could not get my foot down quick enough. So I took the left one off.

Later I walked into town with Andrew as he needed a bit of company. We separated and I looked round a few shops and got Andrew some coffee packs that were on offer, but forgot he has the beans to grind himself. I showed him while waiting at the gates for the trains to go past, after meeting back up again. We went back to the shop and they exchanged it for the beans. Pity as it was a bargain price. Six pack of ground coffee for ten pound instead of twenty eight. Andrew said it had bean ground for a while so not as fresh so getting out of date.

Quite a busy day for me. The walk on the common mile plus, around ten miles bike ride, pilates,  plus around three miles with Andrew. Lots of steps for any one thats counting.

19th

Cleaning up today quite warm too 19C at eleven am. Bit more knitting of the Izzy dolls, not much wool left now so not many more to come.

20th

Had a phone call from my friend Mary saying that she had lost her house keys. She had them near the common gate, She locks Rory's (her dog) pushchair up there so used them it to unlock it. She thinks she might have dropped them near the gate or fence. I said I would go back and have a look for her. She lives away off and I just opposite the common. No they are not there I said I will go and look down Sincil Bank just in case you have dropped them on the way home. Trouble was there was a football match on, Lincoln City was playing. Mary was getting a bit anxious as her Daughter was away and no one had a spare key. She said she would have to ring a lock smiths.

I met my friend Debbie and we both went on the hunt for the keys. No luck along the bank. We walked a bit further and arrived at Mary's house we could not contact her now as her mobile had gone wrong and was not ringing. Debbie texted her and she rang us back. We saw Rory's pushchair near her back door with the lost keys still in the pushchair lock. The locksmiths was on his way so we had to find her and tell her be for she was charged for something she did not now need. We found her after a while with help from a neighbour. She rung the lock smiths and cancelled, explaining what had happened. Debbie and I had a cup of tea with Mary and Rory. Rory was pleased to be home as well. Debbie and I walked home with many thanks from Mary. We  were both just pleased we could help her and save Mary the locksmiths expense.

21st

Paul and I went shopping for a present for his Birthday he got a nice zip up cardigan from Sainsburys. I am going into town next week to see what else I can get him I have a few ideas. The shops were quite busy, more so than I thought they would be.

23rd

In town to day to get Paul a few more presents. I did quite well getting him I think some nice things. A zip up hoodie a jumper, slippers and body spray plus a few snacks. I got some wool for cardigan I am making for a Christmas present. When I have finished all the Izzy dolls I can start it.

25th

Andy (neighbor from across the street.)would like me to make him a tea cozy for his little tea pot. This will not take long I am doing it in plain red as I have quite a bit of red. Still a bit of wool left for the Izzy dolls.

My friend Jenny phoned up today and said she had bean in hospital since Tuesday 23rd as she had some form of collapse. I told her I hoped things would improve and I would see her soon. Hope you feel better soon Jenny- all the very best.

26th

Happy Birthday Paul Lots of people came to give Paul cards and presents. He like the things I got him too. In fact everything was lovely. We had Indian for tea/super very nice it was too.

I have at last finished knitting the Izzy dolls.

These are the ones I have just made recently.
These are the total I have made 59.

Over the next few days I will hopefully get them to a place where they can be used for the children in the war zones. When I started,Oxam was taking them, but not sure now if they still do I will find out.

28th

In the afternoon Paul took me to see Jenny she looked tired and quite pale. She is still having tests and investigations to find out why the collapse happen. A nice afternoon spent with her I took her some chocolates from Paul and I which she appreciated very much.

30th

A damp start to the day but later the sun came out it was quite warm. While on the common a big horse came behind Mary's Daughter Luna and pushed her quite hard. I asked her if it hurt and she was ok. A few years ago Mary her Mum, got knocked twice over by a big horse who reared up over her. Mary thought he was going to kick her while she was on the floor. Very scary for her.

While I was sat at the table I felt very strange and pain in my stomach. I and had to run to the bathroom, where I was very sick- my face was pasty white, and I was shaking and sweating a lot, my face and body were wet. I sat down for a while till I felt right. I was not sick any more but my stomach felt very sore.

Tea cozy I made Andy.

I do not use a pattern, making it preety much like a child's hat and casting off the stiches for the spout then cast on again. The handle just leave it open then, sew up what is needed.  Easy.

He has not seen it yet as he has bean ill with Covid so not bean round  for the past week.

Well here we are in very nearly in  October the nights are getting longer and the days a bit colder. The common also is changing the leaves are off a lot of the trees now. I know Autumn started early because of lack of rain over the Summer, then seemed to pause a bit now I think its back on track.

I hope you are all well as you can be, ME--- I just keep going, like Eddie Duck said " when the going gets tough the tough get going"    All the best Love Gill.

August

August 1st

Sad day today, my friend Debbie, her dog Mr Kipling, suddenly passed away. She is devastated, she lost a dog around three years ago suddenly too. Both dogs were fine a few days be for. Poor girl I feel for her. I lost my dog Summer, over two years ago by someone being careless with antifreeze. She was in very good health and would have gone on for a lot more years. In fact she was in perfect health. All the checks she had at the vets proved this. This was the first and last time she ever went to the vets for being ill just injections and health check ups.

2nd

Would have bean Summer's fourteenth Birthday today. I still miss her so much. This was my  much loved little Westie dog that passed away on January 6th 2023-- though being poisoned by antifreeze .

Wayne and Kayleigh here for the day. So good to see them both, they are doing well. Wayne had a bit of a health scare but is better than he was. He had to have time off work which is very unusual for him. Back now though.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came later to see them. We gave Wayne his Birthday presents for the 30th July. Mostly he got money but also a few bits as well. They are going back home around six so not here for very long. Paul was at the Lincoln City football match, so less people for him to talk to, so we had a good chat. A lovely day for me. I am hoping that I will soon be able to travel to see them as I have bean on a few trips that are further away that have not bean too painful. They live at Halifax around two hours away if traffic not too bad and no accidents.

All too soon it was time for them to leave and say goodbye to them both. Safe journey home.

4th

Saw my friend (who lost her dog) on the common looking very sad. She said the other two dogs are pinning for him and are very sad too. I said if there is anything I can do just let me know.

I am having a bit of a rest day today as very tired. Bean doing a lot of extra things as well as my own house work. Like doing the shed with Paul and also the garden. I have CHRONIC FATIGUE as WELL as FIBROMYALGIA  and RSD. All of these drain the life out of me, also are very painful. Too much pain will bring on the SEIZURES as well. My nights are very short around five hours in bed but not five hours sleep.

6th

Got some brambles off the common for a crumble I am going to make. They are very early this year and most have gone soft. I think this is with the heat we have had and still having. Even the leaves are beginning to fall off the trees. Autumn is definitely going to be early this year.

Cleaning up down stairs today got it all finished around three.

7th

Went to the Bomber Command center with friends Jenny and Gwen. We went in Jenny's car. A lovely place where you can go and see the war stuff.  Jenny  wanted to go and see the poppy display which was outside, this is in the shape of the Lancaster bomber plane but only can be seen properly from the air.. The center edges to the common, so as you look down you see a wonderful view of Lincoln city. All the military people who served in the war, Lincoln area, had their names on stands. There were little gardens as well with veg and fruit in as it would have bean in the war. A very enjoyable day and good to see Gwen again as bean a long time. I used to work well, volunteer with her at Age  UK. She was a paid worker the cook, and a good one too. Everything was good she made. Until they started making the food less quality and more  processed. A lot of the regulars stopped coming and went elsewhere.

Later me and Andrew went for a walk on the common. The rain came down and we sheltered under the trees. Soon the sun came out and we carried on. Luna enjoyed it as well, she doesn't mind getting wet at all.

8th

Nice walk with Luna another walk with Andrew later, no rain today. We went right to the top to see if we could see the poppy display but could not. I was not exactly sure where it was though. Looks a bit different looking up to it. Some of the common was very overgrown as well so not accessible. I have not bean to the top of the common for a long time. The climb up is a tough one and makes your legs ache.

9th

An easy day today as I am feeling very tired and pain  is not good. No tea to cook either as take away Saturday

The order is taking a long time, our usual one had a fire so not open. We ordered off another one. We live a mile from the city centre so there are loads of take aways. Some good some not so.This took ages to  arrive, hope my stomach can cope with a very late meal.  (IBS) Around nine thirty the meal arrived. Very tasty, not quite as good as ours. Paul said the duck pancake rolls he had were really good. Paul had the other one for tea the next day. Ours do not do the big ones like these.

I have Cory-James's jacket done now just need to get the buttons.

Paul painted the back hallway walls as looking a bit tired. They look really good now.

10th

A very warm day23C at one thirty.

Changed the bedding also gave Luna a bath as well she rolled in the horse poo. She smelled a bit too, was surprised the water was not more mucky.

11th

 Another very warm day again.

My friend Joy came to see me today she is doing well. Despite losing a lot of weight she still  struggles to walk well. She has a seat walker to help her.

Going to see my Brother David and sister in law Bev later, as it was my his Birthday yesterday. We got him snacks and sweets plus toiletries'. He liked the snacks very much. A lot he had not seen be for. His sons were there as well, two of them (He has three) all well. One is a night security guard so was getting ready to go to work, the other one had just come home, forman builder I think.. My Brother retired last year and is doing up motor bikes and odd jobs. Bev was also well.

12th

Very warm today cleaning up .30C and did not drop overnight much either, around 20C + and very humid too. Did not finish the cleaning upstairs till gone five, as I had to keep stopping to rest. No way was the oven going on today I did salad and tatties. Very good it was too, or I thought so.

13th

Downstairs cleaning to day. Still hot and humid but cooler than yesterday.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round but I still managed to finished the cleaning. Jamie-Lee is going to a sleepover near here at a friends. So, she had tea here- sausages and chips. We had that too later very nice new tatties chips so crisp and golden.

14th

Quite a lot cooler today 27C at one forty five.

I did not go to Pilates this week as too tired, bean a busy week, hot as well. It's a ten mile round trip on my bike so I thought a bit much for me today. I was hoping to go next week but my Doctors have made an appointment for my B12  next Thursday. I could change it but it be might be a long time for the next one. So I am going to stick with this one.

16th

In the garden a lot to do tidying up and moving things behind the shed.

Starting knitting some more Izzy dolls. I will put up the picture later in the Blog.

17th

Knitting Izzy dolls and started doing the teddies as well, same pattern different head. The teddies are easier as just as tea shirt and body to do no trousers or boots etc.

Cooked tea, toad in the hole three veg and roast and mash tatties, and gravy very nice it was too.

20th

Good walk on the common with Luna we got back be for the rain started. Some of the trees are going bald and  have hardly any leaves left. The other have just gone brown. There are so many conkers this year and they look big too. I got Andrew some brambles to make some sort of sauce with his chillies. There are not many left, and they are going bit soft. I think this will be the last lot now. At least for this year any way. The radio said Autumn will be early this year I already know this from the common

Cleaning up downstairs most of the day. Quite a bit cooler so better for cleaning. Rained later as well. We need rain as bean very dry. Very dry and warm this Summer.

21st

B12 injection today, not too bad for pain. The nurse said if its done slowly it will hurt a lot less and I know she is right. After I went into town to get any bits I wanted. I do not go as often as I used to now so need to make the most of this trip.. Coming home pain was quite bad, not just my arm after the B12, but everywhere. Sometimes this will happen after a pain will set off the RSD torture. It's times like this I wished I had my scooter with me. At the moment I can not get it out the house as no ramp, but hopefully that will be soon sorted as the step and passage is going to be leveled off. There will then be no need for a ramp at all.

I called at the Cats Charity shop on the way home, and got 100grm balls of knitting wool for 50p a ball. The wool lady sells these for £1.50 a ball. So a big saving and I all ways need wool. One ball will knit a small 0-3 months baby cardigan. Tired later but I had done a lot and extra pain as well.

22nd

Went on the common mid afternoon for a second walk with Luna and Andrew. We took Luna's football too, she had great fun playing with it and was panting a bit as well. This is something she hardly ever does. When we got back she had a good sleep, about two hours till her tea time around seven ish.

23rd

Sorting out the internet wire today as it has bean renewed as there was a break in it. Paul and I got it all sorted. Under the carpets and floor boards. Just want the man to come and permanently connect it all up now. At the moment temporary setup, so it can be used. Hopefully it will be a lot better and faster speeds as well. That way Andrew will stay connected in the shed, his office.

Got the ironing done and a bit more knitting of the Izzy dolls. I also sewed on the buttons of the little jacket I made for Cory-James (Great Grandson.) This is for Christmas so ahead this year.

Cory-james's jacket.

29 Izzy dolls.

I am still making these but the hats sets are all finished now. These little dolls take a lot less time round two hours + to knit and sew up.

25th

In the garden today sorting out plant pots and garden stuff. Took off the dead leaves and flowers. Watered it all as still not a lot of rain here.

26th

Cleaning up most of the day takes a longer than it used too, have to keep having rests. Quite warm as well today 27-28C.

Pictures of hat sets as promised.

Large  size sets.
Small size sets.
Medium size sets.

Hat and mitts sets. 24 in all.

Again I did not go to pilates as dizzy and so tired. I rung Jo up and left a message.

In the afternoon went to see my Brother Malc and Sister in law Pam as its Pam's Birthday to day. I made her one of my big blankets. She loved it and said it must have taken you ages. I said yes many hours and around five hundred stitches on the needles at one point. Corner to corner blanket- you start with four stitches' get it as wide/big as you want it in this case around five hundred stitches- then go down to four again cast off finished. Easy-- but they take a long time to do.

At one time Pam was very ill and not given much hope to live 5 percent after a stroke and brain hemorrhage. She was laid on the floor for over five hours till Malc came home from work to find her. She has done very well so has her husband Malc to look after her. That is why she gets an extra special present and attention.

Very pretty.

We called at the crematorium to see my Mum, Dad and my Brother, left flowers. Even though it's bean over fifty years since my Brother passed away- Motorbike accident at seventeen. Over twenty for Mum and Dad it still hurts and I miss them all so much.We also went to see Mr and Mrs Lambert's grave. They used to live next door till they both passed away. Miss them also.

29th

Went into town today as my distance glasses have not fitted right since I got them a few weeks ago. The optician soon sorted them out and they are feeling good now.

I got Jamie-Lee presents for her Birthday next week September 8th same as her Brother Tommy-Lee. Jamie-Lee will be thirteen and Tommy-Lee nineteen. I have not got Tommy-Lee anything yet, will have a word with Lindsay his Mum. Most of their present will be money though.

Very tired and a lot of pain too the sort that does not go. Worse when I sit down, I took extra pain tablets but it did very little to help. No joke when trying to relax and the pain just keeps striking back. Go away I do not need you or want you..

30th

Going to rest properly to day and NOT do little jobs at all. Just a bit of knitting or sewing up of dolls may be. I did do two lots of washing though.

31st

Changed bedding washed and out to dry, dried very quick I was able to iron it all mid afternoon.

Cooked  a chicken breast  tea very good as well. Enough chicken for Luna's tea tomorrow. She loves chicken very much.

Pictures of my crystals and glassware that are now back again in the display cabinet.

Well here we are at the end mostly of summer time, weather is changing- back endish as my Dad used to say. Autumn has already shown it face too. The trees are losing their leaves and darker nights are here, weather a bit cooler but better for most.

Not too bad a month for me no more health scares. (Skin Cancer June 4th) Plenty of pain though, this usually gets more as the weather changes and gets colder. It could be worse. Hope you are as good as you can be. All the best  Love Gill.
