April 1st
The trees are turning green- Spring is on its way. The days are getting lighter and warmer too.
Cleaning up down stairs today did not get finished till five fifteen, but I did get interrupted a lot. Still had tea to do as well.
2nd
Changed the bedding and washed it all. Dried well even got it all ironed later. A busy day for me, but that's nothing new.
4th
Went to see my friend who lost her son Alex (16) in January. She is doing quite well, better than I would I think. Later I did a bit more knitting.
In the afternoon I started the bedrooms cleaning, got some done, rest tomorrow. Very tired later, bean quite a busy few days. It was very windy overnight I could hear things blowing around in the street cans, rubbish. Even blew our garden chairs down to the bottom of the garden.
6th
Washing and general bits. The common has greened up and looks very Spring like. When a bit more green will take pictures.
My friend Debbie Birthday, so I went round to see her. She liked everything I got her. Her dog Monty who usually growls at me was very friendly and let me stoke and fuss him. I said to Debbie next time he will probably growl at me tomorrow.
7th
B12 today it hurt a lot this time.
I did a bit more of the Lego puzzle, Andrew did quite a bit too, despite saying a few days ago that he could not hack doing it. He said you do it then break it up. I said it's an achievement and I enjoy puzzles. When growing up at home we always had a puzzle on the go. We had quite a big table so when it was a meal time we just put the cloth on to eat.
I finally got my tablets today after three times going back and forth to the chemist. Good job its only at the end of the street. I only had one days morphine left, I go into withdrawal if I do not take them on time. As you can imagine I was pleased.
A lot of pain behind my eyes for the last few days probably tiredness as only a few hours sleep for the last few nights. I know it's not my eyes that need testing as recently done.
8th
On the common with Luna throwing her ball near the the gate, when I looked up and thought I saw a dog. No it was a small deer, it just stood there looking at Luna and I. After a few moments it walked slowly past within a few feet from us. I said to it- no need to be frightened at all. The deer just walked slowly past until it was quite away from us, turned, looked, then disappeared.
Saw Monty, Debbie's dog who let me stroke him a few days ago. Today he just sniffed my hand.
Started cleaning the crystal display cabinet, a scary time as they are so delicate and my hands are not the best. I got quite a bit done so I was pleased. I bought quite a few new crystals a few weeks back. I decide give the others a clean, it was worth the effort because they looked a lot shiner.
Chippy tea tonight not had that for ages curry and chips for me and Andrew. Fish and chips for Paul.
9th
Cleaning up today quite a nice day warm and sunny. Andrew and I took Luna for another walk on the common. The wind was a bit cold but it was ok, as we were walking so not stood still.
10th
Washing and general things today.
The rocket Artemis 11 that went around the moon has returned and splashed down in the sea safely with its crew of four.
Did a bit more of the display cabinet only two shelves to go of the eight now. Looking good.
11th
A very nice day, quite a bit colder too. Luna and I had hail stones while on the common. Pleased I put her coat on.
I finished off the display cabinet so very pleased, I did not break anything either even more pleased at that.
Andrew also finished off the Lego puzzle he was so proud of his achievement.
12th
Windy and cold on the common. Cleaning again down stairs. Knitting later a cardigan for Heather, Poppy's Sister that I made around three years ago. I did not see them so just kept them. Time passed and now the cardigans are too small. So I said to there Mum Helen, I would make bigger ones and post this time. Something we were going to do last time, but she said she was coming this way a few times but it did not happen. There is also a blanket to send. I have made Poppy's cardigan, so when both done will put up pictures.
13th
The common looks lovely now.The cold wind has settled again and is quite warm.
One little chick.
A windy night blew most of the blossom away.
Fresh grass and dandelions for the horses.
Buttercups so yellow.
This tree was bare a few days ago.
Two more little chicks plus Mum.
Sorting out cupboards today. I took the Izzy dolls to the post office. They are going to a lady that will make sure the children who need them them most will receive them. I hope they will bring a bit of comfort to the little children trapped in a war zone country.
I did a bit in the garden was going to plant the beans but rained quite heavy. At least it will wet the ground where they are going. I did a bit more knitting instead only the last sleeve to do now..
Very tired and drained I talk to the Doctor soon so maybe he will have an answer for me. I know I do not get much sleep about five hours on average a night. I doze of a bit while sat in my chair but its not a proper sleep. Still got the pain behind my eyes.
15th
Got the beans and peas in the garden. Just got them in and covered up when a downpour started did not last long though. That will help them settle in. Rained in the night as well. Lindsay called round and stayed for tea, Jamie-Lee was with a friend close by. They were getting picked up at eight o'clock.
16th
Now the Lego puzzle is done, I have started another one. This is a knitting/crochet one. I think this one will be easier than the Lego one. It's one I got from a Charity shop as with many I have got. The trouble is bits can be missing not every one looks after their things. When finished if they are not complete I give them back to the Charity shop.
Later while using the microwave, it caught fire big flames leaping up inside. I shouted through to Paul, microwave on fire- quite calm I think he thought I was joking Paul unplugged it, and took it outside when it had cooled down. Looks like the end of that one. We do not use it that much, more for warming plates and reheating meals. Andrew uses for some of his meals. So we do need to get another one.
17th
There are Canadian geese on the common probably the same ones that had babies two years ago. Not only they are there, but they have brought friends two more pairs-- six in all. Hope they all have babies as the ones be for had around twelve.
19th
Changed all the bedding washed and all dried. Cleaned some of the bedrooms.
Andrew set to and finished the puzzle no bits missing so this one is a keeper. He said he is enjoying doing them.
Knitting puzzle.
20th
Finished off the bedrooms all done tidy and clean now. Vacuumed over down stairs as well.
Spoke to my Doctor I can order the medication liquid morphine- back up for pain. Ibru 10% gel that I used to have a bit back, for my joints but not on repeat but that's ok with me as only used as backup when needed. I need to have a B12 blood test as well to check my levels.
21st
Cold wind on the common. Bit of a rest day for me today. Was knitting a shawl but not going well so given it the push. I can knit something else at a later date.
Another walk on the common with Luna and Andrew. Luna was well tired later. She does not have her ball in the afternoon just a walk and run around. Very cold it was too a lot colder than this morning at around eight thirty ish.
My shoulder hurts a lot today could be from throwing the ball for her or just my many things playing up.
22nd
At the dentist with Andrew today. He has not bean for a while so he is a bit nervous what will they say to him. When we got in the place it was very hot, over powering hot. Then the fire alarm went off nobody moved no one told us what to do or where to go check point ???!!!. Andrew and I left and moved away from the building the alarm was so loud. We looked in a retro shop from the seventies clothes and memorabilia. The receptionist from the dentist was trying to stop the alarm by doing something in a cupboard. He said afterwards he did not know what he was doing just trying to shut it up.
After around fifteen minutes the alarm stopped. Some one had opened the window and it was a cooler.
Andrew was not very impressed with the dentist- she was not listening to him. He was already stressed with heat of the place and the fire alarm. There was no fire and also no apology either. As I said there was no fire, but what if there had bean. No one seemed to know the fire drill.
Andrew needs some work done but not as much as I thought he would.
23rd
Paul's Mum funeral today at Nettleham church one o'clock and after wards at he the White Heart also Nettleham. Every thing went well and Paul did a lovely Eulogy in the church. That is the third death this year for us.
Poor Wayne and Kayleigh are coming from Halifax they missed the train because of traffic and delays. They got another train but no refund from the one they missed. Having to pay again as well. They are only here for the day so it will be an expensive one. On the way home there was no train from Leeds to Halifax so a taxi was needed. Poor Wayne and Kayleigh. They were hoping to stay a bit longer but the people that usually look after their cat is away so he is looking after their cats.instead.
24th
Paul is going away to Kenilworth for a few days will be back some time on Sunday. He left around dinner time and its a two hour round about journey.
I did a lot of ironing today around three hours in two sessions, bedding and Paul's things.
25th
Cleaning up down stairs today. Another lovely day sunshine and blue sky. Bit cold first off on the common though. Soon warmed up our garden is due south facing and gets very warm.
Set all the seeds veg and flowers in seed trays hopefully they will come up. The beans went in the ground a few days ago.
Luna is a bit confused, as she is waiting in the hall way for Paul. He goes out a lot but this is the first time for a while he has stayed away night time.
Andrew and I had a Chinese for tea/super, veg chow Mein, chips and curry sauce. Very good it was too.
26th
Another lovely day quite warm to start with. Did some my Blog today a bit of knitting too. Bean a busy week so I needed a rest day.
Now both cardigans for Poppy 7/8 years and Heather 3/4 years are finished. I do hope they will fit, but I think they will be a little big. No problem they will fit them soon. Helen might even send a picture of the girls wearing them.
30th
My friend John came to see us after tea, good to see him. He has not bean here for a while. I have know John since I started Platies in May 18th 2009. He was in the same group. I asked him round for a cup of tea and we have remained friends ever since.
Well a bit better month- some very warm weather too. Hope things are good with you all. As usual all the very best to you all. Love Gill.
