1st May
A bank Holiday and it's warm in our garden 23-25C . Sowed some seeds, tomatoes and a few flowers.
3rd
Sorting out a bit in my clothes cupboard. Lindsay Jay-Jay and Corey-James came round later so I did not get a lot done. Never mind there is always tomorrow.
4th
A good walk with Luna on the common. I gave her a bath later. She has bean a bit itchy so hopefully the bath will help.
A dull day but its drying the washing well.
6th
Cold this morning over night it dropped to 7C. Felt cold on the common too.
Today I did all the ironing, not loads but enough to make my body ache. Time for a sit down and cup of tea. No doubt Luna will be sat on my knee.
We are having new windows throughout plus front and back doors. These ones have bean in a long time around 1988 for the doors, some windows longer. A man came and looked and said I will send you the quote/price by email over the next few days. We are getting three quotes in all.
She look so sweet after her cut last month.
7th
Warmed up a bit today a good walk with Luna on the common. While playing ball with her, another dog called Jenny pinched it.I got it back when she was given a treat by Phil, her owner. Luna was pleased and refused a treat from him. He gave it to me and I said she would get it later.
I changed all the bedding as it looked like drying weather it was too. They all dried well.
Second walk with Luna and Andrew. Took some pictures of the common to show how green it is now and ablaze with buttercups.
8th
Well what a change from yesterday no wind and dampness in the air. Pleased I did the bedding yesterday.
Another nose bleed, I get a lot of these, a week blood vessel that I have had for years. I am on ASPIRIN for a heart problem. This does not help much either.
Watered the garden, beans and peas are coming up well.
I have finished off the little cardigan I was making.
I was pleased with this had to finish with white as run out of wool. But I think it looks good.
Did all the ironing later too.
I am looking after Smudge, Andy's cat from across the road till the 18th May. He is a good cat- but misses Andy a lot. When Andy gets back he tells him off.
9th
A warm start to the day lovely on the common. Luna and I saw Mary with Rory her dog, and Debbie with Bella her dog.
I have started another little baby cardigan pink and white wool . Quite easy to do as well. Same pattern as the last one.
Indian for tea/super- Andrew, and Paul I think like this better than Chinese. I prefer Chinese but it's nice for a change and no cooking for me. Different place than normal one we usually get it from. Very good too, Andrew and Paul both enjoyed it.
11th
Another window man came to look at quoting us for the new windows. The quote he gave us was more than the other two but, these were triple glazed. We are asking what the other two men would charge for the same.
Cold today East wind quite strong it was blowing Luna's ears over her face. She has long ears, be for her cut they were eight inches long. Now around six I think, they get less wet that way on the common. She still looks cute.
12th
Very cold overnight frost in places too. Felt more like Winter on the common.
Going to finish off the bedrooms I started on Sunday.
13th
In town today to get Corey-James his Birthday presents, for his Birthday on Saturday. He will be three, wow this hardly seems possible but it is. Got him a mixture of things he has loads of toys so I got him mostly clothes.
Hail stones so big they settled a few moments be for melting away. Sun and showers was the theme for the day. I sheltered while coming back from town as very heavy rain/ hailstones. Very tired and achy later. I was happy as I think I have got him some cool little boy stuff.
14th
Not as cold today- very nice on the common with Luna.
I am cleaning downstairs today finished around five PM. As I said I am looking after Andy's cat. He is away for a few days. I have not seen much of him but the food is going so he's ok.
16th
Went to see Corey-James for his Birthday. He like his presents I think the best was his bubble gun Andrew got him. He liked his Mickey mouse top as well. Molly will send pictures of him in his clothes. I think some will be too big for him. They will soon fit him and will be ok for later in the year.
Quite noisy there as a lot of people in a small room, it was hot as well. We have the windows open and the back door when possible. They have two house cats that do not go out at all. Molly thinks they might get out if windows are open.
On the way home Paul had fish, and Andrew had chips curry. I did not have any my stomach was a bit off it.
18th
A weird day sun, rain, hail stones that settled on the path. Windy at times too.
Andrew is sorting out his room Paul is helping too.
I did the ironing, very heavy air today storms forecast but we seem to miss most of them.
While on the common with Luna we saw my friend Mary, she had a camera put down her throat to check for Cancer. The results were clear I was so pleased for her. She had got in her head that was what she was suffering from. They diagnosed IBS or that sort of thing.
20th
Andrew has put most of his clothes for wash to freshen them up as they have bean in draws for a while. I am just giving them a quick wash. He has got rid of a lot ready for the Charity shop.
Most people are going early for dog walk be for it gets too hot. I was up early today be for seven am. The night was hot and clammy. Washing and ironing done. Also sewed up the baby cardigan just need buttons now.
21st
Cleaning down stairs today. At times I feel like dizzy swimming head. Very tired today some to do with the heat, some with lack of sleep four to five hours is not enough night after night.
Paul's car back window expounded, the lady next door came and told us she thought some one might have tried to break in, Paul said the glass was out side the car so he is almost certain it was the heat build up. Possible a small crack that just gave up. Going to be fixed next week. We mended it as best as we could with cardboard and a plastic sheet in case it rained.
23rd
Changed all the bedding all dried and ironed by tea time. I put the buttons on the little cardigan I made.
Paul and I have now sorted out the windows and doors style we would like. Just need to get in touch with the windows man Andrew.
Chinese for tea, veg chow mien, chips, and curry sauce. Andrew and I usually share a meal. Paul has his own usually a set meal for one.
24th
Washed all the whites after an over night soak. More ironing quite hot today 27C by four PM.
I sorted out what we call the toy cupboard, because it mostly filled with toys from my children and grandchildren and now great grand child. This holds bedding and a few other things but mostly toys and games. Looked a lot better when I had finished.
26th
Another warm start to the day 27C mid day. Warm on the common hardly any breeze Nice walk, we did not play ball as its a bit warm for Luna to be running around. She chassed the pigeons and other birds instead.
Paul is taking stuff to the county skip with Andy from across the street.
We have sorted out the windows and doors like I said. Andrew window man, will be here later to day to finalise the price, glass, and how they open. There are different regulations now, there has to be escape route through certain windows. The ramp at the front door will also be done. That will make it a lot better to get my bike out and my mobility scooter. Also for the bins as well.
28th
Hospital today for my heart scan. At last-- only nearly four years later than it should be. I should have one every year just to check things. The last one 2022, The lady who did the scan could hardly believe it. She said on your notes it say yearly to check things out. I said I have rung the hospital many times, so has my own Doctor to get an appointment sent. They say one will be with you shortly. None came. Hopefully I will see the Cardiologist soon and find out what has changed. The lady explained a little bit to me that I did not know about. When I find out more I will put on here.
In the morning I did the bedrooms only the computer room to do tomorrow.
29th
Finished off the computer room and stairs two flights.
In the afternoon we went to see my friend Jenny. She has a few problems with her computer which Andrew will look at and hopefully fix. We bought some garden furniture and bits off her. Very nice chairs with cushions and table plus brolly.
Jenny is doing well and was pleased we lessened her shed of the furniture. Got home after a rest tea, veg quiche, baby poatoes plus green beans very nice. Andrew joined us as well.
31st
Went to see Jay-Jay,Molly and corey-James. Molly's Birthday Monday. We sat out side as it was quite warm. Molly showed us some of the things she does on her gym frame Arial Gymnastics. Very good she is. I think at some time I would like a go, nothing like Molly does, but simple things.
Cooked tea, Sausage tatties veg.
Better month for me but having problems with my left leg. Pain and tightening up all down my leg from either the knee or from the hip. As I walk it gets worse. Not sure if it nerve or veins in my legs, as they are not good and large. I will get it checked out soon.
All the very best to you all. Love Gill.
