March.

March 1st

A horrible wet cold day. I do not think it stopped raining all day. Sorting all the books from spare bedrooms to go to the charity shop. Got rid of quite a lot, the rest now fit on the bookcase. 

Bit more knitting of Jamie-Lee doll trousers. Still got the hair to finish off as well, this is taking a lot more time than I thought it would. Jamie-Lee is going on a school trip tomorrow for two nights. Somewhere near Derby. This is the first time she has bean away from home apart from relatives.

Jordon North- Radio 1 DJ is doing a challenge this week, which he started yesterday, to raise money for Comic Relief. He is to row 100 miles from London to Burnley, his hometown, and his beloved football team, Turf moor- Burnley FC. Jordon has bean doing a bit of rowing practice over the last few weeks in secret. His challenge was announced last week on his and Vic's radio show.  

Good luck Jordon and well done for your courage, and guts, for doing this challenge. 

3rd

Jordon is absolutely wrecked, he has just run out of steam. Poor Jordon. He got out of his rowing boat and just collapsed. Only tomorrow to go, you can do it, Jordon. Around twenty miles to go, think of the finish with all your friends family, and fans. Everyone is behind you willing you on.

4th

Jordon has done it, coming up to the finish were his Dad and Brother on river bikes with other families members in the crowd. Earlier on his Dad had fallen in and had to be fished out. The crowds were going mad and cheering Jordan all the way. He has done it. Very tired but rejuvenated by his friends and family not forgetting his fans. He looked good, all the pain and blisters were forgotten about for now. 

So far he has raised £74,000 for the Charity. Well done Jordon. He said it was the hardest thing he had ever done in his life and never, never, again.

Jamie-Lee enjoyed her School trip and is back home now.

5th

Going into town today to get Jay-Jay my oldest Grandson, some presents for his eighteenth birthday tomorrow. I am usually not this late getting things but I did not know what to get him. After looking around I managed to find a Nike zip-up and T-shirt to fit him and was pleased. I got some shower stuff and sweets as well. 

6th

Happy Birthday, Jay-Jay.

I wrote this in his card: Jay-Jay another chapter in your life begins. Things have not always bean easy for you, but sometimes you have to work at them, to get things right.

Andrew made him some engraved glassware, and a box with his name on it, very nice too. He liked all his things and showed me what other presents he had got.  

8th

Debbie and I both feed the birds near the common mostly the robins that live near a big tree. One of them or both are seen regularly. I got some pictures they were both there to start with but one flew off.

They have become very tame and often sit waiting for us. I am scared of birds and feathers, so I am pleased they do not come any closer. I do like to watch them but at a distance.

At last my cardiology appointment, first I saw one of the team who asked me questions.  I was weighed and had my observations taken, plus an ECG. I then saw the consultant who said the scan I had earlier in the year was OK. The valve he was worried about, is good for now not perfect but OK. The other thing now he is worried about is the heart itself.  I am to have more tests.

In the meanwhile, I have bean put on tablets to help with the pain and erratic heartbeat. I said could I not wait till the next test results to see if I really need them. He said you might not get a second chance. I will take the tablets, at least for now anyway. He did say that if the next test results are good I will be able to come off them all. A deal I said and he laughed. I hate taking any tablets and tend to reduce mine whenever I can.  

The new medications I have bean put on are:

• GLYCERYL TRINITIRATE SPRAY to use if the pain is bad, under the tongue. 
• ASPRIN 75mg to thin the blood.
• LANSOPRAZOLE 30mg- to protect the stomach. I was on this a few years ago, but it did not suit me. I will try again though.
• ATORVASTATIN 20 mg- this is to lower CHOLESTEROL. mine is very slightly high and has bean for a number of years. My own doctor is not worried as I have a good lifestyle.
• BISOPROLOL 2.5mg. This is to help with any pain and lower the heart rate when it goes a bit wild. I hope they do not have any nasty side effects.

9th

Did some gardening today tidying up everywhere and getting rid of the dead bits and the few weeds that had come up. A spring-like day, quite warm. One of the tablets has given me the runs quite bad I hardly dare move for fear of pooing myself. I think it's the ATORVASTATIN- as I looked it up on the side effects. I hope it settles down soon. Apart from that nothing else so far apart from aching everywhere, but this could be anything.  I hurt most of the time anyway so I am not counting this. Early days yet so just carry on taking them.  

12th

Gave Summer a bath yesterday she was very mucky and a lot of grit and muck came off her. I bet she feels a lot better now. She smells very nice so fresh now.

I have knitted a pair of gloves for my friend Mary, the one with Rory dog. She did not know that I was making her some. Every day when I saw her on the common she said her hands were cold. Even though she wore gloves So I decided to knit her a pair. The ones I make are 70% wool so very warm. I wear them myself and I have RAYNARDS bad circulation in my hands and feet. They keep my hand warmer than any other gloves. I mostly wear two pairs in the cold weather. She wanted to pay me for the wool but I said no they are a present.  Jenny had problems with her shower door and Paul said he would have a look at it. He managed to fix it quickly, as it was the seal bent over. I said to Jeny it could be this. She was very pleased and made us a cup of tea. We stayed for a while just talking. I feel quite tired today not really with it sort of feeling. 

13th

Sorting out my wool to see what I have. With knitting, you mostly have some leftovers not enough to do much with but too much to throw away. So you come up with ideas to use it, like toys and little bits. One year I made loads of hats for Age Uk for little Innocent fruit juice drinks to go on top of the bottles. Lindsay came round and Jamie-Lee of course, they stopped for tea. We were going to have Sunday dinner, but we had sausage and chips instead, very nice it was too. I love chips, especially homemade ones. I wash them and leave the skin on.

14th

Into town today, got some new wool from a charity shop for more gloves. A lot cheaper than wool stall, but you have to be there at the right time to get lucky. Got a few other bits, and had my glasses sorted out. I sat on them and they were twisted and uncomfortable. All sorted and wearable again.

16th

Runs calmed down a bit I feel a bit safer when I go out now but the pain is in my stomach is still bad. 

Summer had her hair cut today and looks so cute and very white. As usual, she was very good, she loves Maxine and waits for her in the hallway. Maxine does not use the harness or anything to hold her. I think she is the only dog that she can do this with. If when cutting Summer's face she will often give Maxine a kiss as if to say thank you.

Rained later and did not stop, poured down now the common will be all slushy tomorrow. Just dried out as well.   

17th

Common not too bad so Summer did not get too mucky. My hair cut today so we will both look good together.  My stomach since starting new tablets has not bean good. I am stopping LANSOPRAZOLE. I think this is the fourth time I have bean put on these and the outcome is always the same, bad stomach and pain. Hopefully, the rest will settle down. 

 

18th 

Looking after Emmie tonight. She was good but tired so when her Mum and Dad came home she went to bed. When I left around ten minutes later she was asleep. They are moving this year but not far so I will still be able to go round to see them all.  

19th

Now that the river people have finished, its wait and see if the plans are approved for the nursing home and warden controlled units.

20th

A lovely Spring-like day just beautiful on the common. Summer was running around like a little pup. I think the sun brings out the better in most people as everyone I met seemed very happy. I even saw a few in shorts and T-shirts. Not quite ready for that yet as still a cold wind at times. But everyone is different. I picked up a lot of bottles that some had taken to the common, drunk them, and left them there. One was smashed and the lower part sticking up. If a dog or horse would have stepped on that it would have bean quite nasty. I do not know why they can not take them home in the bag they came in or bin them. 

 

Later Paul and I went to Mablethorpe a seaside town not far away. There was sand- racing on- motorbikes on the beach. We watched for a while then wandered off to look around the shops. Not everything is open yet, usually at Easter time. We had fish and chips, of course, they were good.

Even though it was a very nice day pain was there as well. More going than coming back. I had not bean this far for ages. Vibrations always make the RSD flare up, well mostly.  Terrible side effects from the new tablets. 

21st

Frost to begin with then sun and cloud. Not as warm as it has bean, but still good for March. Cleaning up and washing. I hurt a lot today, I think it's from the travelling yesterday. Hopefully, it will ease off soon.

22nd

My friends Ness and Squidgy's house has gone up for sale today. They are not moving far away so I will see them. More than likely still look after Emmie. I will still miss them when they go. Ness said it made her feel sad too.

23rd

Warm today got up to 17C in the afternoon barmy weather again. People were in shorts in the park and in the sun it was quite warm. Still a very cold wind though. Tidying up the greenhouse ready for the seeds soon. I was going to seed today but, decided not to as it can still be cold in there. So I will wait till next month. Cold can set the plants back a few weeks, so I just might as well wait a bit.

24th

Cleaned all upstairs today. Later finished off the Jamie-Lee look-alike doll's hair. This has taken around four to five hours maybe more. Looks good I think. When I get the tie done, I will put up a picture of her on the next blog. 

25th

Sorting out the gap between the bathroom and shed, it gets very untidy at times. Andrew went into the bottom woodshed and said he thought there were mice in there. I left some cheese to see if there were. Ness said they prefer chocolate or cake, something sweet. So  I left some chocolate and will check in the morning to see if it has gone. 

27th

Checked the shed, chocolate had gone. I will sort it out today. Andrew has a lot of his things stored in there.  Moved many things and sprayed them with disinfectant spray. Trew away anything that the mice had ruined, lucky not too much. The bags of birdseed had been attacked and a lot in some of the boxes. Soon there was only one box left, so the nest must be in there. It was- when I tipped the last bits of the box out, one ran out then the other, the first went next door, and the other shot under the shed. They had made an impressive nest of paper, bubble wrap, and cloth. The smell was quite strong. I felt quite mean breaking the nest up. Mice can be very destructive so they had to go. There was a hole in the shed, I think this was their shopping route to get extra bits and water. Paul mended the hole so hopefully, they have gone.  

Later Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round. With it being Mother's day I got some daffodils (I did not get a picture of them.) and two cards from them. Jamie-Lee wrote in her Nan's card, from your Granddaughter. Which I thought was quite sweet and funny. She said so you know who it's from me. Wayne and Kayleigh rang up and wished me Happy Mothers Day. They sent a card and a present. Andrew had given me pendants earlier this month.

28th

A misty start to the day colder than the last few days as well. I looked in the shed and the chocolate was still there. So for now the two little squatters have gone. I will need to check as they might be a hole I have not seen. Hope they will be alright as they were very cute. Getting warmer and there are plenty of sheds in the car park at the back. If they do decide to come back,  Andy across the road has a humane trap so I could release them further away, hopefully, they are still together. 

29th 

Still have problems with my stomach but getting better since I have stopped most of the tablets. The pain was terrible I have IBS so that flared up. I felt sick a lot of the time, very bloated. Also, bleeding when I went to the toilet. So bye-bye tablets. I have tried ringing the hospital and even spoke to the doctor's secretary who said I would get a phone call back to advise me on what to do for the best. I told her I had stopped all but one of the tablets, BISOPROLOL. They would have run out but I have bean taking half a tablet. I can not get more because they have not sent details to my doctors.

Met my friends Jenny, and Joy, for dinner at Thomas 2 in town at 1pm. I did not really feel like eating but did have some. I had not eaten since 7pm last night and was feeling a bit dizzy. Of course, the RSD saw its chance to cause more pain and discomfort and went for it big time. Both Joy and Jenny are doing well. Joy has lost weight and looks so much better. She said she feels it too. Well done Joy.  

30th 

For the first time since starting and stopping the new tablets, I woke up without stomach pains. Not as cold today nice walk with Summer on the common. I saw one of the little mice coming from under the shed, to get the seed from the grass that came out of the box they were in. Chocolate was still in the shed, so no break-ins so far. 

31st

I told Andrew it was going to snow. No, he said, not cold enough. It usually warms up to snow which it has done, Cleaning up downstairs today. Not feeling the best but will feel worse if I just sit all day.  

Later on, it snowed not a lot but it did snow. Soon went when the sun came out. Wayne has got snow as well just a covering. I rang the hospital again same response I will get a phone call she said. The other secretary has now retired so it's her she thinks I will deal with but she is at Grantham, not Lincoln. I told her about the tablets. So I will just wait and see. I am not taking the ones I stopped so either replace them or forget them. I would prefer the latter. Snowed a bit more, but not settling as the sun is warm. 

Well, another month has gone for this year. Not the best but not the worse. The weather is picking up a bit so that makes things better all around. Most people feel better in the sunshine. RSD prefers warmer weather, well mine does.

February

February 1st

My appointment with the cardiologist got cancelled because she is ill. Seems to be a lot of my appointments get cancelled. Not the cardiologist's fault though, hope she gets better soon.

2nd

Not as cold today on the common, not windy either. A good walk with Summer. 

Just lately my pain has not bean as bad, bad enough still. The overall pain is still there but the flair-ups have backed down a bit, the tiredness is still as bad and the wobbliness comes and goes as it feels like it Could this mean things are starting to improve? I do hope so this year will be eighteen years of RSD.

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round later and stayed for tea. They had bean to Sports Direct to get Jamie-Lee some roller skates, they were a bit too small so need to go back for exchange.  Found out later from Lindsay they did not get bigger skates but sledges. Do they know something we don't?

3rd

Quite a bit colder today another good walk with Summer on the common. My friend Angela came round to see us. She is doing alright. Taking a pair of jeans up today, it took longer to try to thread the needle and get started than it did to sew them. I have a needle threader on my machine and had to get the instruction book to see how it works. My hand shakes a lot and can not hold things at times, and today was one of them. 

4th

Out with Jenny today at Age Uk where I used to volunteer. We both went back to see what it is like now. I have decided not to go back as I don't think I could cope. I struggled even before and dropped a lot of things. Jenny is going back and was a little disappointed that I was not. She understood and said I will try it and see how I get on but even she was not sure. She will get a date when to start. Things have changed a lot there is only one person left that we know in the kitchen. Bit of shopping then home. 

5th

Very windy and cold on the common saw my friend Mary and she said she was cold. I said put your hood up. She said I will not be able to hear you then. I said you can not hear any way or see very well. Rory, her dog loves it on the common and runs around for ages. Mary waits for him to come back then they move on, This can take a long time so she gets cold. Rory used to be a street dog so is used to doing his own thing. Making my friend John a Birthday cake. I just put everything in the mixer so it's not hard to do.

7th

Frosty start to the day and very cold too. Saw Mary on the common she gives Summer little treats. Summer did not see her to start, with, but when she did she ran to her and got her treat. We walked around with her again. Met Joy in town and she gave me a present and card for my Birthday on the 13th. Good to see Joy, I have not met her in town since last year. 

B12 injection later this stung a bit but not as painful as some I have had.

8th

The dentist canceled what did I say earlier about appointments? Saw Jonh and gave him his cake and present for his Birthday today. Picked up my tablets that the chemist missed yesterday off my prescription. 

Later I watched the Brit Awards, I watch every year (when it is on)   Adele got three awards and Ed Sheeran got the writer of the year. Good, but I did not like the man comparing it, a comedian, he laughed at his own jokes even when they were not funny, but still, I watch it for the entertainment of the singers.

9th

Not a good day for me today very wobbly and more pain than usual. I do not feel with it at all far far away feeling. Could just that I have bean doing more and the RSD has objected does not take much to upset it.

10th

Very frosty start but soon warmed up. Summer made two new friends on the common a chocolate labrador and a black one. When she was a young pup she was chased by a chocolate Lab and was scared of them for a long time. I was pleased she was not frightened by him as he was a very large dog. Good girl Summer. Looked after Jamie-Lee later, so Lindsay could see Tommy-Lee's teachers at school. Jamie-Lee has got tonsilitis. Another puzzle I have finished. I got a bit of help from Lindsay and Jamie-Lee she put in the last few bits. This was a Christmas present from my friend Joy.

12th

My Brother David and Sister in law Bev came round, to bring me a card and present of a rose for the garden plus a large sunflower decoration for the garden also. They could not stop long as they were parked on the high st, as no room on our street because of football and the extra cars. This meant only a short stay because of restricted parking, an hour. He did not want to get a ticket obviously. Good to see them both as it bean a while, Christmas last time. I gave them three small cakes one for each of them as one of their sons lives at home. I told my Brother not to eat more than one and will check when I ring up after my Birthday to thank everyone for the cards and presents.

13th

Happy Birthday to me. Lots of very nice presents and cards. I bought myself some crystals with money from previous Birthdays and Christmas I got four and Paul bought me one. We had a Chinese takeaway later with Lindsay and Jamie-Lee joining us too. Very good too, I ate properly ate too much as IBS played up - worth it though.

14th

Thanked most of the people for their presents and cards. Just two more to do tomorrow as out. Garry did get his cake and he said he enjoyed it so did David, Bev yet to eat hers. Started another puzzle this is an Amsterdam one quite colourful too. 

16th

All my new crystals came today all good.

Barmy weather 14c at midday. Storm Douglas is coming this way, then Storm Eunice too, this is meant to be stronger and more powerful than Douglas. Weather warnings are in place, severe for some. 

Very windy on the common this does not bother Summer at all. soon after we came back it rain and for most of the day heavy showers. The wind and rain got worse after dark.

17th

A lot colder on the common today and so windy. Walked around with Debbie and her two spaniels Monty and Sooty do not like the wind and both wanted picking up. She said look at Summer she does not mind one bit. She was running around with the wind blowing her fur. Debbie was told yesterday that the river people have just about finished the banks and are soon packing up. They have done a good job I will put a picture when all the tidying up has bean done.

18th

We have got storm Douglas, at the moment, This is not affecting us too bad, but some parts of Britain have had a battering and a lot of damage has bean done. Straight away we are heading into a storm, called Eunice. This one is meant to be a lot stronger. I know it was very windy on the common. Summers fur was blowing in the wind. Cleaning up downstairs later. Sharp frost when I went to bed and very cold.

20th

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round. Jamie-Lee has had tonsilitis but is just about better now. Later I did a bit more of the Amsterdam puzzle going well and not too hard to do. I have done the sky first as most people leave it till last and then it can be quite so boring.

21st 

Still quite windy but not as bad as it has bean both storms have now passed through. Walked around the common with Debbie her two spaniels again. Debbie said she had met a lady and a dog who had just moved here. She did not know about the common and her dog went crazy and shot up the hill in excitement.  She was very pleased too as where she moved from had nothing like the common.

Yet another storm is coming mostly to Ireland but could go anywhere.  At least it's good for drying washing two lots done and dried so quickly. I love the smell of fresh washing.

22nd

Picked up Tommy-Lee's jacket it needed a zip slider and I did not have one the right size. The lady charged me £10.00. Not too bad I suppose but it's only a ten-minute job. I was annoyed I could not do it myself.  Took Summer out for an extra walk later extra biscuit too which she very much enjoyed.

Paul cooked tea, rice and a Jalfrezi mince dish not too bad but a bit unusual. A lot more pain than usual well at least I have had a few better days. 

23rd

I am sorting out the hair for the Jamie-Lee doll. Jamie has curly hair so I need to make it look like hers. I wrap the wool/yarn around screwers and big knitting needles. I stemmed them with the iron, they have turned out very well.  Now just to hook them on to the head. This will take hours as her hair is very thick. Riverbank is done now, most of the River people have moved on to other jobs. So it's pretty quiet out the back now.    

I think it looks good now, and the ducks love it deeper and wider for them.

24th

Cold and windy today again not a storm this time, or not yet anyway. Dentist today 2.15 to refill a tooth that lost its filling. I was told I would not be charged as it was within the guarantee, well this was not really true as was charged a check-up fee of £23 odd, but not charged for the filling. I quiried this and the dentist said they have to do this as the Nation Health makes them. The dentist had told me to floss more, this is what made the filling come out. The left side of my mouth was numbed, I need extra LIDOCAINE to do this now, since having RSD. so I think it will be numb for quite a while. The numbness went around 9pm. A little sore then but not too bad.

25th

My friend Jenny is at Age UK today to see if she can cope with the changes. I hope she gets on alright. I know she wishes I could be there as well, but that's not possible for me. Later in the day Jenny phoned me and said she enjoyed it and is going back next week. All the best Jenny.  

26th

Did a few more of the curls for Jamie-Lees hair going to be a long job, as taking more hair than I thought. Was not pleased with some I did, so out they came, so more than ever to do now. Chinese for tea which was very nice. Andrew and I shared a veg curry which he had asked for to be hot and spicy. Very much different to the usual veg curry we have from there, the Chinese across the road. It was good, but a little hot for me, but Andrew loved it he has his food spicier than I do. 

Andrew put some hair on Summer from the Jamie-Lee doll, and she just laid there you can almost do anything with her more so at night time when she is very tired.

I think I could go into films with this new look.

27th

Not feeling the best today hot, cold more than usual. Far away feeling and headache very unsteady on my feet at times, taking things a bit slower.  Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round and had tea with us Sunday dinner-type meal. Pork steaks for Paul and I and sausage for Jamie-Lee and Lindsay with veg, roast tatties, Yorkshires, and mash, and of course gravy. Jamie-Lee loves gravy and has it on most meals.

28th

Weather change again from frost and sun to dull and rain. Summer and I just about escaped the rain on the common. We saw Mary and Rory dog there, had not seen them all week so that was very nice. Always good to see friends on the common. Summer is very well known there as she is so cute, Every loves her. Rained very soon after we got back. Cleaning up today Paul helping for a change so that's good. I do feel a bit better today. headache has gone and not as much pain.

    

Well, another month gone- mixed for me but on the whole better not a lot going on either as do not go out much apart from the common.

Jan 2022

Happy new year to everyone is this one going to be better than the last two with COVID still very much here.

Jan 1st

The little pup from next door disappeared, frighten by the fireworks going off. He was found later so all well. The fireworks near us were very good, the display was on, or near the common. Just a family, or friends setting them off. The sound was almost deafening Summer was barking at them as to say shut up. 

2nd

Wayne phoned up he has got COVID. He was not well when he was here at Christmas. He thought it was a cold as he took a test before he came. He said he actually feels better than he did at Christmas. Kayleigh will look after him.

3rd

Wayne sent a message that Kayleigh has now got COVID as well.  She is not suffering as much though.

Finished off making the womble Orinoco. I am very pleased with him, he came out better than I thought he would. I teasel brushed him afterwards to give him the effect of fur. This took a long time around three to four hours.

4th  

Summer had a long walk on the common. We first walked around with Debbie then met Mary, and had another walk around with her. Even though summer is now eleven years old she is still very strong and active. I think if I carried on going she would too. Very cold with an even colder wind cuts through you like a knife. Taking down the Christmas decorations, it looks very bare now.

5th

Sharp frost to begin with then warm sun still very cold though.  Our old postman is back, he likes a good chat as he delivers his post so that's good. Meeting Paul in town to get him some trainers as part of his Christmas present. 

Very cold so I put on my duffel coat thinking it would be warmer than my other coat as it's mostly wool, it was not and I was cold. At least we only went to one shop and he got what he wanted. 

6th 

I made some mince pies and jam tarts in the afternoon. Plus some sausage rolls for Paul. My eyes are sore today, I think it might be the cold wind from the common walks. Snowed for around two minutes Lindsay and I saw it. Might be some more later. Hope so, as I and summer love the snow as many of you know from past years. 

7th

Bedrooms to clean today took a lot of the day. Then some more of the schoolgirl doll. Going well a lot of clothes to do. I have not started the body yet as no flesh wool. Paul is getting me some today from the market. Very tired later, and my eyes are still sore still. I think it's the wind making them like that. My eyes are always dry from the side effects of the tablets I take so not good to start with. So it does not take much to make them sore. I have bean doing my blog on my new tablet that Paul got me for Christmas. Very different from a laptop or computer. Lindsay is having her booster today at the showground, Paul is taking her, I have Jamie-Lee here with me. Later I am looking after Emmie a neighbour's girl who I regularly look after later. Her parents are going out together for a change. Ness is a nurse so her working hours can be all over the place. Emmie and I had a good time as usual. She got tired so I said it was time for bed. When Ness and squidgy came home she was fast asleep.

8th 

Cold and wet today summer and I went down Sincil bank her choice. Carried on knitting the school girl doll, the plan is to make her look like Jamie-Lee, I think I can get a good likeness. When she is finished as usual I will put a picture on here. I need to be doing something when I am sat, so the pain does not take over. The knitting helps a lot. Paul is at football today. His team Lincoln city has not bean doing well so far this season, so he is hoping for a win today. When he came home he was pleased Lincoln had won the match and played a good game.

Chinese for tea this was very hot and delicious. I was hungry so had quite a lot. We all enjoyed our super. 

10th 

Doing the cleaning up today Paul is helping I usually do it all. I started in the bathroom and Paul started in the front room. I usually do this on my own sitting down when I need to. I feel like I am getting a cold or something very drained. I take echinacea when I feel like this and it helps a lot. By the end of the day, I felt a lot better, very tired though.

11th

A lot of ironing to do today as changed the beds yesterday so sheets and quilt covers. Plus shirts and other bits. The cold I thought I was getting seems to have backed off a bit. Summer had a long walk today and was running around like a little pup.

13th

My friend Jenny came round today after having her hair done just down the road. Good to see her. 

Found out today that I am going to receive some money from Attendance Allowance (money to help with support for RSD and any assistance I may need).  At last, a four-year battle was over. I am pleased this is now over. I could not have done it without my friend John's help. So thank you very much, John.

Later night time my legs were causing me a lot of pain, the sort that does not stop. Nerve pain I took tablets and MORPHINE but the pain went on. I tried TIGER BALM, no relief. I went to bed in pain. I have had this be for but not as bad for a long time. Hopefully, the pain will lessen overnight.

15th

Pain has lessened a bit in my legs, it's not too bad when moving but when sat it's very uncomfortable. I think a lot of this has to do with the bad varicose veins on my left leg. As with RSD, the pain does not have to be where it actually starts from. The other leg just joins in to cause more problems.  I have seen my Doctor about the veins, but he says that unless they become a major problem they are left alone 

Lindsay and Jamie-Lee came round in the afternoon and stayed for tea Chinese. Very good it was too. Jamie-Lee spilt hot curry on her hand and it made her very upset. I do not think it will blister as Lindsay straight away put it under cold water. Jamie- Lee soon recovered and finished off her meal.

She brought round her sewing machine for me to look at, got it sorted and she was very pleased. 

17th

In town today to get some new baking tins. The ones I have are not much good now. All the non-stick is no longer. So things like sausages and roasties stick. These tins have a ten-year guarantee so they should be good.  Got a dentist appointment, as well as a filling, has dropped out. We are having toad in the hole today so that will be a good test as in the past tins everything stuck so half the Yorkshire was left in the tin. 

18th

Had to go back into town again to change the baking tins as they did not fit side by side in the oven. Got a bit smaller ones so all was good. Sorted out my baking tin cupboard and got rid of the other tins. Tried them later and the Yorkshire pudding just lifted out. So a good start to the tin washed up like a washing up a plate well pleased. The toad in the hole tasted very good as well.   

In the night well early morning Summer was very unsettled and I came down. Stopped down for around an hour then went back to bed. Not sure what spooked her but she was not happy. I have not had to come down to her for a long time. 

20th

Very cold on the common, -2 with the wind chill factor. Helping out a friend today sorting out a few things. Ironing before I went so I was pleased it got done. Got back around tea time fish and chip and mushy peas, very nice.

22nd

Not doing a lot today so I decided to make a start on a puzzle Joy got me for Christmas. Got quite a lot done too. I treated myself to some CDs from Amazon, Taylor Swift, Years and Years, and Yung Blud, Ed Sheeran and Sam smith.  

23rd

Bid more of the puzzle, I have a fold-up board so I can put it away safely when had enough. All the CDS came today. Will get played later. 

The river worker are getting the river looking good. The cranes now have gone, still digger and trucks.

24th

Sorting out my DVDs and CDS took a long time as I kept dropping them. Playing my new ones at the same time all are very good. Still, Taylor Swift to play. 

Not had a bad few days with pain so that's good. Balance is not good at times.

25th

Cleaning up, then a bit more knitting of school girl doll, going quite well. Later on, while locking up and letting Summer go on the grass be for bed. I bumped my head on the shed wall. Only a graze but felt quite sore. The RSD went wild and soon I had pain throughout my body.  I had to stay down a bit longer till my pain had lessened a bit. 

26th

Told by Mary that there were four horses on the road near the crossing on South Park. Probably from the common, hope they will be alright. I did not see them but they left a pile of muck behind. Mary said there was a lady on the phone so hopefully, things will get sorted and they soon will be safe and back where they belong.

Headache today from where I bumped it. Only a small graze but it does not take much to upset RDS.

27th

Weather mild today, its has gone barmy again, windy too so did the bed sheets, quilt cover, they dried too. 

When I saw Debbie friend from down the street, she said she saw four horses being led back on the common while walking her dogs yesterday a few minutes after Mary saw them. Pleased every turned out alright and they got back safely with no accidents. 

My head is not as bad today but a bit sore around my eye. 

28th

Very mild again I did not have my hat and gloves so it must be warmer. Summer had fun running around with Rory, Mary's dog.  Doing a bit more of the schoolgirl doll I am knitting Finished off the duffel coat. So now only the hat, gloves and scarf to knit.  

31st

Got Jamie-Lee tonight. Lindsay is at an Indian Birthday meal for one of her friends. After Jamie Lee had tea, she showed me some games on her tablet which she thought I would like. She showed me how to download them onto my tablet. We had a good Nan to Granddaughter time for a couple of hours. Soon Lindsay was soon back and they went off home. A very lovely night with my Granddaughter Jamie-Lee.

First Blog of the year and not too bad I think. Pain wise pretty good- apart from my wobbles and hitting my head on the shed wall 25th. A good start to 2022. A bit different to last year when I broke my wrist.  Hope you are all not too bad and enjoying some things. All the very best love Gill.
