Cold start to the day. There has bean a bit of snow, a very bright fresh start. Summer loved running around chasing her ball. Quite clean today as well as ground hard so no mucky Pup.
Age UK not busy to start with, then it's like they had all decided to come in all at the same time.
A few moany ones today saying the soup bowls should be fuller-- its a standard ladle used for years. The soup is only £1-50 including bread and they still moan. At least most of them appreciate us.
Wayne said his cat Timmy has DIABETES-- as mentioned in the last blog and he has to give him injections twice a day. Poor Timmy hope he responses to his treatment. Wayne has changed his biscuits and thinks they are more suited to his condition. He thought it would be hard work to inject him after the first injection not going too well, but the next day he even jumped up on the table ready for his treatment. I think he felt better after the first one so he wanted more. I hope this sorts him out and he will back to his usual Timmy self.
2nd
More snow has fallen- Summer had a great time rolling around it snowed for around half an hour so quite a covering.
On the common Summer paying with her ball.
Started snowing fast.
The road had bean cover on the way back.
Pleased I am not a duck.
By dinner all the snow had gone after the lovely sunshine
Paul has taken Andrew to Wayne's for the weekend I think they both will enjoy this.

On the common, there were runners doing circuits this always makes me feel very sad, and I want to join them. Every time I get close to going back to running, something happens like my knee. Hopefully after its sorted I will be able to run again if the RSD behaves..
Ben's family have given me his DAB radio- this was very personal to him so I am very pleased to have it. I can remember Ben every time its on.
4th
Hospital today to do the preoperative tests and questions. Early start as appointment is 8.30am. Up at 4.30am not bean in bed long probably two hours max. Around a two hour trip to get there.
All went well I am fit and well apart from the RSD really. Now just wait for the date to come in the post, hopefully this will not be long.
Took Summer out when I got back as it was too early, dark and raining fast to take her before we went this morning. She found a very muddy puddle and took great delight running through it. One white dog going on to the common, one very muddy brown dog coming back.
Paul picked Andrew up from Wayne's both had a good time. Paul was tired when they got back, he had done a few miles today.
5th
An appointment at the Doctors I need to see them about my OSTEOPOROSIS check. My appointment was for the Doctors near us then changed to the other Doctors further way- then a phone call early this morning said it had bean changed back again.
Going to see my friend Joy today not bean to her house in ages. A nice chat and catch up with her.
Left there to make my way to the Doctors. She said (not my usual Doctor) I need a DEXTER SCAN as its bean two years since I stopped taking the ALENDRONIC ACID, so a check up is needed I will get an appointment in the post soon.
Weird pain behind my eyes and in my ears but not really earache. Did not go off at all still there when I went to bed,
All three of Lindsay's young uns are ill and off school, sickness bug she thinks, get better soon all of you.
6th
Not a good night still head pain also now in my face and neck I think its the NEURALGIA playing up.
Andrew has some job news at last he has bean taken on a vape/cannabis oil shop. He went two weeks ago and did a few hours. He did not think he had got a job there as they did not contact him. His mobile number was written down wrong some how. He contacted them and got the job. Well done Andrew hope this will be a start of better things.
7th
Head and face pain just about gone now.
Andrew started work today only a few hours but hopefully more to come.
Lindsay is at City Hospital Nottingham today having pain blocks, last time was not a great success so hopefully this time will be better.
Made my friend John a cake I did not think it turned out as good as some others I have made. I'm sure John will like it though. Took his card and present after tea- Andrew and Summer came too for a walk. Summer was very tired later as its a good walk for her to John's and she had bean out earlier this morning.
We had a lovely Indian take away for tea. Indian is not the best choice for me but this time it was very tasty and I enjoyed it. No IBS problems either.
8th
Quite windy today and cold too.
Age UK, not run off our feet but very steady all morning. Jenny not feeling the best today.
Called into Andrew's work place on the way past we walked back home together. He had a good day again.
Feeling quite tired later bean quite a busy week. A few extra miles walking and car travelling.
9th
Phoned Lindsay up she is in not as much pain this time. Over the next few day time will tell if the pain blocks have worked better.
Finished off the dog puzzle I started ages ago, this one has bean very hard even harder I think than the double sided ones and sweet ones, I did last year.
11th
Good walk on the common. Summer had her new scarf on and my friend said she looked cute. The scarf was not a success as dropped down and got wet and muddy.
My friend Lyn came to see me and brought me a present and card as its my Birthday on the 13th.We do not see as much of each other as we used to, so it was nice to catch up.
When she had gone I gave Summer a bath as she was very mucky-- afterwards she gleamed and was very white. She quite likes having a bath so its quite easy. The hard bit is lifting her out as ours bath is a deep one.
Summer after her bath, with new scarf-- so cute as Jamie-Lee would say.
12th
Woke to very cold legs and spasms and pain not nice.
Angela came and brought me a present and card for tomorrow. She did not stay long because I had a B12 injection booked. I forgot yesterday so when I went in today I apologised. They said it was strange, as I never miss an appointment. I did ring up yesterday and said I had forgot-- OK they said and booked it for today. A student Nurse injected me and very well too. This injection hurts who ever does it sometimes more than others.
13th
Happy Birthday to me 64 today.
Most of the day on my own with Pup. Paul out for his dinner and Andrew at work.
Lindsay and family came round for tea a Chinese for nine of us around the table, well Lindsay sat on the chair. Very nice it was too. I really enjoyed it all. Really good to have some one round.
Tommy-Lee Jamie-Lee me and Jay-Jay.
Flowers, presents and cards I received.
14thA lovely sunny quite warm day on the common with Summer Pup. Running after her ball and playing. The common is quite wet this morning so she came back mucky.
Rung up everyone to thank them for cards and presents.
15th
Age UK on my my own as Jenny is not well. Polly helped me out on the counter. We were busy too, so good to have her with me.
Gary the caretakers last day so he was pleased that people made a fuss of him he starts a new job on Monday. All the best to you Gary I will miss you. Age UK have not started any interviews yet so we are going to without a caretaker for a while. How that will work out I am not sure but it can not be good.
Popped in to Andrews shop where he is working and said hello to him and his work mate, looks like a very nice place. Good to see him back at work and doing something he enjoys.
17th
Cleaning up down stairs Paul started in the front room and I in the bathroom and we met in the middle. Cooked tea watched a bit of late TV. Also watched Star Treks Discovery with Andrew, a good episode.
After Andrew went to bed I watched a program about assisted dying, very interesting and very sad at the same time.
Louis Theroux did all the interviewing it was a very good insight in to people that have had enough of the pain and suffering. Sounds a lot like us RSD suffers-- well sort of. Their lives will not be very long and they will suffer so much at the end. So going out without this is easier for them and their loved ones dying with dignity as one of them put it..
Not legal in this country. Some of the people were desperate and suffering a lot- some just had weeks/months to live and would die in a lot of pain.
18th
Lindsay here with Jamie-Lee. Jay-Jay and his girlfriend joined us later. Tommy-Lee out with his mates. Lindsay did us all bacon butties. Very nice-- ages since I had one.
Lindsay is not doing too bad after her pain block injection on the 17th.
Jamie and I played with the Barbie dolls so she was happy. Jay-Jay moaned quite a lot but he is at that age 14 nearly 15. He has got himself a nice girlfriend this time, one that tends to calm him down when he needs it.
19th
Soon after I got up the phone rang, around 9.30pm, Kingsmill Hospital here, we have a cancellation. We can fit you in today for your knee operation--- can you get here for 12-00pm. I said could it be later ? No. We have at least an hour and half travel as its in Sutton in Ashfield near Nottingham. Could I ring you back in 5 minutes-- Yes but no longer as we need to fill the place. Paul was at the hospital volunteering I tried to get hold of him but no luck. I rung the consultant back and told him. I asked how near I was at the top on the list he said in the top quarter, but things can change with cancellations or a emergency's. I thanked him and hoped to hear from him very soon. I hope it is soon as my knee is worse than it was-- very tight much more pain, and very cold foot and leg. I know my RSD side has bean weird for a while but this did not affect my left side as much. I think the RSD is playing it up a lot and causing a lot of problems. Hopefully this will not flair up after the operation.
20th
I was going to Pilate's today but got a message from Jo saying its not on for the next two weeks. She is not too well. All the best Jo and get well soon.
Well ironing it is then- over two hours worth as I got some new sheets and as they are cotton I iron them. A warm day as well. The weather has bean very good the last few days and Spring like as well.
21st
Cleaning the bedrooms today well three of them Andrew does his own. I had to keep sitting down as knee keeps locking up.
Another warm day, people I saw out walking had shorts and vests on. Not warm enough I don't think for that-- me anyway-- but get ahead on the tan.
Summer and I like the warmer weather as well as she can have her ball more times on the common without getting so wet and mucky. Not that muck bothers her too much that's my job to get her clean.
22nd
Well Age UK again, it soon comes round. When I got there is was not too busy but that soon changed.
Only two in the kitchen and two waitresses. Jenny and I on the counter. Plus Vera and John !! not that they do too much anyway. John goes to walking football soon after he gets here. Vera just seems to disappear all the time. She is in her eighties so I suppose she does well.
We even have a new Caretaker-- as Gary left last week I was surprised as things do not move very fast here regarding the Staff replacements. He is very nice too, a lot like Gary.
23rd
Quite a bit colder today but the sun came out later. Doing this blog and puzzle later, the Candy Crush one, hard one again but it will not beat me.
Andrews at work a full week for him as he has worked everyday, so I am so pleased for him.
I am having it easy today as out tomorrow.
24th
Today Paul and I are flying-- yes literally, going up in a four by four plane part owned by my friends Dave and Bev from Beeston .
The day started off quite foggy but that soon cleared and became a warm sunny day.
We set off for Tollerton Airport for the flight to meet Dave and Bev there. Sunshine till we just got past Newark, then blanket fog and bit of sun here and there. We arrived at the Airport to find it was in a thick covering of fog. We met up with Dave and Bev and waited till it started to clear as it had in Lincoln. Bev said a few miles away it was clear and sunny. The fog started to clear so Dave and Paul started to do the fight checks. The sun came out but quickly hid again. No flight today. Disappointing yes, but we can come again.
Dave did take some pictures of plane and Paul and I.
Taken through front screen so not too good.
The plane-- You can see the fog.
We had a cup of tea with them the cafe had closed but we always take a flask with us so we shared that. We said our good byes and headed off home. Still foggy till just before Newark again then bright sunshine. Bean sunny in Lincoln all day.
25th
A frosty start but again soon warmed up and was another nice day. Washing and a bit of sewing and tidied up the green house.
Finally rang up my hairdresser to book an appointment for my hair to be cut. I am getting fed up with it being longer it grows so fast a bit like my nails. RSD makes your nails grow faster.
Going to Asda Living to get a new toaster as ours does not toast very well now, so its not much good.
Found one but out of stock for, in soon we were told. Got a new nozzle for the hose pipe so not a wasted journey.
Heard later on the Radio that this day has bean the hottest day on record for February. 21C -70 F.
26th
Finally got my latest puzzle Candy crush done I thought this would be easier after my last dog one. BUT no it was very hard.
Paul came home with the new toaster he tried it and it was good, toasted the whole piece of bread in one, no turning it round.
Found out today from some very nice work men that the garage that shut down near us a while ago, is going to be another garage. We have bean a bit worried-- as stories were going round that the ground was going to be turned into flats. As our garden backs on to it we were more than a bit pleased. Hope the information was right. I think it will be but, till things happen no one can be sure.
27th
A very warm start to the day no cool wind either warmer than previous days-- could it be than the 25th.
Summer had fun on the common till a very excited spaniel pinched her ball. He dropped it and she got it back but she was a bit worried and panicked as her ball is very special to her. Only one thing is worse, not getting her tea.
Doing a bit of tiding up in the garden. Watched A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
Wayne got me the DVD for my Birthday. Very good but sad too.
I was sat talking to some one the other day. They said having RSD is not too bad is it.!!?? You can still do most things and have not really lost anything.
NO NOT A LOT--Just my job, my running, most of my friends, my social life, plus many others. They have minor problems at the moment and think they are worse off. Theirs can be easily put right
RSD CAN NOT.
Anyway all the best to you all Love Gill.
